- In this After Effects motion graphics video we discuss shape morphing (icon morphing/logo morphing) in After Effects CC. This shape morph can be used to change between two icons or shape. This can also be used to help show you how to animate an icon in After Effects that utilizes shape morphing. Lastly, this tutorial will cover how to morph shape layers from Illustrator in After Effects
The morphing between simple shapes like triangle, circle, rectangle is pretty common known technique and you can't find many of real icon morphing tutorial on internet. this video is for who already knows how to use after effects and want to learn new techniques like morphing.
In this video I am showing you how to morph between location icon to camera icon, and camera icon to image icon. that designed inside of adobe illustrator.

There's a shortcut here too, you can just copy each mask and paste it oppositely on where you are gonna morph into

When i do the morphing of a rectangle into a circle the shape moves to another place do you have a fix

i really love your videos, can u please show how you got multiple layers for each icon, i did my icons and i keep getting the whole icon in one layer.
Already separate them in illustrator. At least thats how I do it.

5:52 for some reason, whenever i have a point selected, i can't see the handle to adjust the curvature of the line. have you got any idea as to why that might be the problem? great video!
What if i wanted the same gradient or color of that AI layer ? The new converted layers are now gray color and even i try to put the gradients code the angle won't be same. I want to know so i can morph the objects.
For gradient colours i
I use a plugin called overlord(in illustrator) you can push any layer from illustrator to after effects as shape layer

I never quite understood why you used an alpha matte in the end
Here is why
The "image bottom" layer is sliding upwards and I used alpha matte to mask it.

what happened when it is many colors obeject?
if you're morphing from a shape to different color, you can keyframe the color and change it.

after ive seen this composition has 60 fps i turned it off…
you can do this in 1 min. stop making things complicated to look more professional. weird
This tutorial is made for everyone. A complete beginner should be able to understand the process. :)
