Nice simple video guys! Unfortunately All modern cars with CanBus have the same problem of being difficult to diagnose even with the original manufacturers diagnostic tools. As every module is interconnected via the CanBus if one goes bad then they all write errors in their memory without actually having a problem. Specially if the problem is in a ground or a short to a ground that is common to all systems... On top of these the CanBus is encrypted so there are no messages coming from it as to were is the problem plus that modules connected in the CanBus take a random I.D that makes it even more confusing to pinpoint the problem. These are the reasons You see in many videos that for the ¨same problem" there are totally different reported solutions... The source of the problem was in a different area but the symptoms were the same. It takes good diagnostic tools, an even cheap oscilloscope for automotive use, some helpful tools like a broken loom tracer and lots of experience in diagnostic methodology (diagnosis steps) for this job. Unless You have all the luck of the world by Your side... Good luck everyone!
Hello, came across with this channel with the DPF cleaning video (which will do on my Citroen C5 ii :) ). I literally had the same issue, it could go on without any problems even for a month an suddenly cut out, sometimes it threw some ABS lights and sometimes no dashboard errors at all. For my case what got the problem fixed was replacing the crankshaft position sensor (been 2 years without cutting out), it's not that hard to change it and in Spain it costs like 15 euros for the sensor. Even if it's in good condition, it's a cheap and simple thing to rule out before buying more expensive stuff. Keep up the good content and hope it helps you!!!
One of the tips I received, from a local car mechanic, who now runs his own business, is how to reset the Anti-Pollution System. This obviously resets the Anti-Pollution warning, so that it doesn't keep coming on. What you have to do is drive at fairly high engine revs for twenty minutes. This gets the DPF really hot and clears it out. So on my Citroen Grand-Picasso (2009 1.6 Diesel), you have to put it on manual and do 70 mph in 3rd gear (I forget the required engine revs, but that does it). If you have to slow down then you have to start the twenty minutes all over again. This does burn through quite a bit of fuel I'm afraid though. The other problem you got in Cyprus is driving for 20 minutes at 70, I guess. Best done at midnight, when the roads are clear. 😂
Just checked Google and it would throw up a P001 error code and the cure is a new fuse box, which is either the part you cleaned or the part that attaches to the top of the battery. Very common fault apparently buddy, hope this helps you guys out. All the best 👍
Crickey, what a fuss to get the battery out! I changed the battery on my father's Corsa and I thought that was a bit difficult, but this one beats it. Good luck with finding the fault.
I had a van before a diesel partner van I know there the same sort of engine , I needed to put more pat fluid in mine when the anti polishing light came on, don’t know if it’s the same but look online about that , hope this helps

My 2011 C4 1.6 Grand Picasso (150k) very similar issues, I did basically the same as you guys, also under the air box there was a couple of chafed wires with exposed copper. I gently dried the fuse box with a hot air gun (there was plenty of damp seeds etc in there too). For me this issue of suddenly stalling turned into an additional P0268 code which was injector no.3 over-current, I replaced injector & all good. Exactly the same thing happened 6 months later, i.e started to randomly stall, and then P0268 etc. Best advice would be ALWAYS carry a cheapo Pro Scan or similar OBD scanner with you in the car because one symptom amongst all of the error codes can be the bloody electric hand brake won't release until you clear all of the codes using the scanner. Out of interest it was always injector no.3 that failed (3 times now) over 3 years which leads me to suspect wiring as the cause as the injector itself always has damaged internal electronics. I have had it for 7 years now, it has not been the most reliable car I have owned, would not have another...
I love my c4 GP but bloody hell the niggles it has had are unreal. Made a mistake putting optimum diesel in. It started to trigger issues. The oil gets dirty quickly and you need to change at half the recommended distance/time. Your issue might be the parking break as mine has a loose plate and used to trigger the esp warning light...but must have moved further so as not to be a nuisance lol. The latest problem triggered the "you are at risk of blocking the air system"...was caused by the tube which connects the turbo and air system. The turbo end always slipped in time for some reason but was getting worse at not staying in place. What caused that was the tube at the other end wasnt clipped in properly. The clip which you cant see wasnt in fully. Now the risk of blocking warning has gone. Must be cleaner so the dpf doesnt have to regenerate so much.
Never off duty Martin even on holiday, you always find a job ! 😁 Must be lovely being able to work on a motor in shorts & bare feet 😁😁Hope you’re having a great time buddy 👍🏼👍🏼
A good way to help the regen is a lower gear and drive at a motorway (ish) speed keeping the revs higher than 3500 and above (I believe), for around 30 miles. A large black plume should emit from the exhaust.
Martin, try a BSI reset. It costs nothing and may cure the issue. Procedure is as follows.. Put the driver's window down, lift the bonnet and ensure all equipment is switched off. Ensure all doors are closed and remove key from the ignition. Wait for 3 minutes, disconnect the vehicle battery and wait 15 seconds. Reconnect the vehicle battery, wait a further 10 seconds (do not open doors.). Switch on the side lights through the driver's window. Switch on the ignition and check system's functionality. Hold lock button on key down for 10 seconds. Remove key open & close door test central locking system. Start the engine and complete the system's check. Failure to follow this procedure could result in incorrect operation of many BSI related items.
Just got one of these and was wondering how to remove the battery , do you lose radio power if you remove the battery ,Citroen would nor say or give radio code
Hi Boys! You can start cleaning the DPF with a better diagnostic tool too... Have You reset the faults EPB, ABS/ESP/ASR? If YES, tell me please how... I'am trying to do that for months... They comes every time again...
My uncle was duped into buying a c5 with this fault, he through a fortune at it and never fixed it, buy a ford, great to see if we go to Cyprus we could hire a car and explore, brill video.
Bsi unit fault. Would try a re set on it martin not sure what the procedure is on these . These are a nightmare when they start esp with the EGS gearbox. (not read comments poss already been said) .
It could need some software updates for the ECU computer Martin. A lot of modules run in tandem so if one is faulty some of the others show faults to like the ABS module, park brake module etc. Also check the EGR valve they are known to cause faults. Cheers, Jeff.
Anti pollution is most likely related to the Diesel Particulate Filter (DPF), it's a very common problem with diesel vehicles which only do short journeys. In normal use the DPF gets up to very high temperatures and burns particulates off which would otherwise be emitted into the atmosphere, in vehicles which only do short journeys the DPF does not get up to operating temperature and so eventually gets clogged with the particulates it is designed to burn off. Some DPFs can be regenerated by driving at 50 - 60 MPH for 20 - 30 minutes, others may require a service procedure to force a regeneration but in worst case scenarios a new DPF will be required and will usually cost from the early hundreds up to early thousands depending on the vehicle to which they are fitted. There are companies which specialise in cleaning DPFs and there are even fuel additives which claim to clean as well but I have no experience or evidence as to how effective the latter are.
Do you know if this would also cause a whining noise when accelerating? This just happened to me today and everything your saying makes sense to me, I use my work van mostly and the car occasionally. Any help would be appreciated thanks
I had a similar fault, with a Peugeot 108, basically I would get loads of codes come up like tpms, esc fault, eml, and a o2 sensor heater circuit fault. so it seems to be fairly common with Peugeot/ citroen that if one sensor is out of parameter whether that down to a connection fault/ a bad sensor can cause error codes in various different systems the car monitors. for my car it turnt out to be a bad o2 sensor, which for me a few garages couldn't find the fault I had to get a auto electrician. which initially you wouldn't think a bad o2 sensor, could cause faults with tpms or esc. so in my opinion I would look into a poor connection or faulty sensor that monitors the emissions. I know it's not the same kind of fault but hopefully it helps.
Did he sort it eventually? I had same thing, only difference was that after it cut out, it didnt start again unless battery was disconnected for a moment. Took it to experienced Peugeot Citroen guy, he saw that RPM sensor (not sure it's the correct term for it) showed up twice in diagnostics, changed that and this problem is now gone. I still have to sort ABS/ESP/Handbrake/Directional headlamps faults coming on all at once, but at least it's not cutting out anymore.
The anti pollution fault could well be DPF related. The ELOYS fluid is in a pouch situated next to the fuel tank. It might need to be filled up or replaced. Did you watch the "LM Auto Repairs" video by any chance? There could still be a broken wire causing the multiple errors. You found some chafing on one of the looms going into the fusebox. That would be the best place to start looking for any broken or shorted wires. The best diagnostic software to use is Diagbox which is what the dealers and independent PSA specialists use. I know that's not really an option while you're out in Cyprus.
That’s a very strange problem and I hope you find the care soon and excellent work thanks for the content stay safe and take care and have a nice time in sunny Cyprus
I repaired one of these recently, I found corrosion in the wiring behind the battery box, no chafing. It was literally just 2 wires but made all the difference!
On my Peugeot anti pollution light can mean anything you need a code reader on it Martin. 9 times out of ten on the Peugeot it’s the egr valve although it never cuts out when this happens.
These cars especially Citroen, suffer from the diesel particulate filter (a soot Catcher, ie anti-pollution, for want of a better word) choking up on short journeys. The filter catches the soot and a regeneration cycle self cleans the filter periodically, usually on the motorway etc, where it reaches a very high-temperature and burns off the soot into ash. Short journeys don't give the dpf time to go through this cleaning cycle and gradually blocks it up, then the engine gets instruction from the ECU to go into limp home mode. I believe this might be one of your problems. You will need to clear the fault code too.
I have had Exactly the same problem. Same car only a year older. All the same. Solution was gear box fluid was leaking near empty and fluid went in to control electronics. Once we refilled stopped having the problem. Please reach out and share as I still have the issue but rarely. It used to be all the time and especially at high ambient temperature would make it definitely happen. Gear box ECU part.
In my case. After very heavy rain, I got water in BSM compartment. Took second hand same number BSM(they dont need paring) and just swapped. Car started immediately. Before that it was gearbox, antipollution, esp, handbrake etc errors.
A late addition….I was getting P1160 increasingly frequent error codes on my 2008 c4 Picasso 1.8i petrol. They happened wheN I slowed speed and braked, for example at a crossing or lights. I started with the easiest possible solutions first, which was what you guys did in the video; I checked the fuses on top of the battery (some of them were corroded) and took out the plugs on the fusebox and the BSI in front of the fusebox. One of had some kind of moisture in it, not quite water I think. I cleaned and dried out everything and put back together again. Been running smoothly since.
I had the same sort of issue on a Citroën c5 I had a few years ago I had to get rid of the car garage did not have a clue what it was great video mate shame u could not sort it
The same thing happened to a customer's C5 when i.worked at a.dealership a while ago he had it 2 days, the mechanics had the dashboard out, everything with all the support from Citroen ,it couldn't be fixed ,the car was taken back.by Citroen and the customer was given a new car of his choice ,but same price 😊
@@ASH.......................1976Hi, me too have the same issue. Gearbox fault, gear only stuck in N not changing nor moving. What solution did you get?
From what I've seen it's the diesel particulate filter. Dpf. Best case it needs a good run at high revs to clear it out. Worst case new dpf needed. But definitely try a good run on motorway in 3rd for as long as possible to clear it. It's just registering the fault and then going into limp mode and throwing up all those other lights etc.
I've taken my dpf out taken egr out, remapped. Still happens to me . This is the worst car I've ever owned. Cuts out on dual carriageways and won't start again till the handbrake is on
@@CallOfBrians really this is happening on my car now fella took dpf out blanked ear and started cutting out but not been mapped yet your getting me worried haha
Any random issues with C4, DS4, 2008 etc Add a supplementary earth cable from battery to chassis and another from engine to chassis, then change the clutch and accelerator pedal switches, followed by all four wheel sensors cables, carefully inspecting the pick ups. Bad earths, and those few things generate the most bizarre array of (seemingly) unrelated faults, it's worth the few hours and £100 to get them out of the chain...80% of issues will clear up then and there If your battery isn't showing at least 12.4 resting (after sitting overnight) and at least 10.5 while cranking the starter...so basically less than a couple of years old...that can also create havoc. THEN start looking for dirty plugs, frayed wires etc I've changed the EGR valve because of an £8 clutch switch before now.
Great Vid Martin 👍 intermittent faults are the worst to trace. normally to effect that many control units and bring all those warning lights on at once its a fault on the high speed CAN Bus either one faulty control unit or and intermittent short to ground on the can bus wires causing all control units (ecu's) to loose communication with each other.
Hi Martin does that car take add blue? We have a c4 grand picaso 2000 cc Diesel and that has to have add blue or it cuts out if the add blue tank's empty
Hi guys the intermittent fault is your solenoid on the egr valve failing. I had same problem on my Citroen c4 Picasso and cleaned my egr and noticed the electric part was to stiff and couldn't turn the egr valve so I got get a new one and fit then go on each and pair it to my car.hope this helps
Ok, ive got same problems, anti pollution is separate to the other cluster of faults. All the other faults (gearbox faulty, esp/abs faulty, handbrake faulty, gears only working in manual up to 3rd etc) is all linked to 1 thing......ABS sensor and magnetic ring. Without a diagnostic reader you wont know which one, on mine it was front passenger. Took the wheel off, took the ABS sensor off, gave it a clean then used a firm toothbrush and wd40 to clean all the grease and dirt off the magnetic ring, it has to be crystal clean. Sort of brush where the sensor goes and spin the disc (in neutral) around and around until the ring is clean, use cotton buds if the ring is really think grease/dirt. That will sort all those faults out but you'll probably have to do it both front wheels to start with. Will take about 20 mins each and wont cost ya a penny if you have cotton buds, WD40 and an old tooth. Unfortunately it wont sort the anti-pollution fault out, im still sussing that one out but the car still runs fine for me with that coming on.
great video martin and ben, my sister had a similar problem with her fiesta (2002) he would cut out every so often tried all sorts to sort it ford dealer, independant, auto electricians, over £1000 spent and no one could sort it in the end she had to get a new car it became dangerous with there being no warning when it was going to happen
Without Diagbox on these cars your snookered. Also sometimes when writing a fault code to the ecu it will cause comms failures to other units like the handbrake and triggers another fault that's not really a fault. As an example I had a sticky EGR valve and when it played up it caused the auto handbrake to turn off and gave ABS and ESP faults, sorted the EGR and all was well. My advice is to spend £50 quid on Diagbox and Lexia, I'd be lost without it. Also for any fault codes in the engine ECU it calls it anti pollution which made me think along the lines of DPF at first.
did u ever sort the problem? i’ve just removed my dpf blanked egr valve but not got it mapped yet but it’s cutting out and coming up with anti pollution system faulty
First it is who ever bought the car's fault even if the dash does not show it. I would say vehicle arson would be a good solution. Way to many wires and stuff. Folks below seem to give some good advice. Thanks for sharing. Enjoy your new home.
I’ve worked at main dealerships for french car manufacturers and other brands. Quite a few comments here mention that it could be a DPF problem, which is fair enough. However they’re also saying that giving it a thrash at high revs will sort it. Whilst that might clear any carbon buildup in the engine, it won’t necessarily clear the DPF. DOF regeneration often means driving at a constant cruising speed for a set time. There is plenty of information about DPF regeneration online. You can also buy DPF cleaner which you simply add to the fuel and I know people that have used it and it does work in some cases. Having said all that, you could well be right in thinking that it’s a wiring or electrical problem. I hope I’ve been able to help. Good to you and Ben in sorting this fault.
antipollution system could be something to do with the DPF. try doing a forced regeneration? also, look online to see if the car has its own button sequence to do an on board diagnostic without a scanner.
Does sound like a DPF problem once it gets warm. Give it a good thrash low gear motorway speeds. If you see the thick black smoke you are on the right lines.
My brother's 207 came up with the same fault. His rocker cover gasket had gone and sprayed oil everywhere. Top tip if any Pug/Citroen with the infamous 1.6 HDI sounds like a tank check the air intake and the air box as it likes to come loose. It's not easy to get to either.
sounds like a tank, any examples? Im having issues with faultcodes that cam same time as gas was low. i also do know that there is an L-shaped plastic part that is missing to the air intake so there is a gap between the box and the pipe, behind the engine. ideas?
Probably needs some software updates for the ECU computer Martin, since a lot of modules run in tandem it throws fault codes in other modules like abs., park brake etc. And check the egr valve too they are known to cause faults. Cheers, Jeff.
If the fuse box was so dirty and full of seeds, maybe that suggests the pollen filter could be completely clogged up as well, if it's bringing up an anti pollution warning light, wouldn't be surprising if the car's come over from the UK. I guess the pollen filter would be fairly close in proximity to the fuse box, being as it's tucked so fair back into the scuttle/firewall.
Thank you for that gentlemen. What you showed was very helpful! Did you ever sort it out and find a solution? If so could you please let me know? Thanks.
Elyios fluid Martin. Had same engine in my Ford Focus. Needs Tony up every 75k miles. It's not AdBlue but it gets injected in a very low dose to make the engine burn cleaner. Could be slightly off on the spelling. Guess Cyprus is not the best for dpf equipped cars? Let us know how you get on.
Hi Martin I’m an avid watcher of your channel and need some advice. I purchased the DeVilbiss SRI Pro Spray Gun. I don’t know what paint setup to use. Could you please advise me if I paint a Mountfield Red deck. Could you please supply a list of what I would need. And also point me in the right direction to get them. Many thanks and keep the video’s coming. Regards Peter’s Mower Shack.
Pete, I use a 2k lacquer for the top coat as it's fuel resistant. Check out my lawnmower repair bids where I show what I use. Also watch the direct bikes repair bids where I share what I use.
These can suffer with a bad earth wire to the gearbox. Also when disconnecting the battery on a psa vehicle always do the bsi reset procedure or you are likely to get other faults Depollution system fault is a generic message and needs to be scanned. If it was the dpf additive it would show dpf fluid additive low on the screen. Check the fuel pump relay, this can also cause this issue. Once fuel is cut it can show numerous faults because the engine has cut. Esp/asr fault is because the can is moving while ignition on and getting incorrect signals so will go off when started whilst stationary.
Hey! still there? This happend to me. I was running on low disel so the car sent out a "low fuel warning", and then just a second later ABS and ESP started to show. Do u have more info about this?
I had a similar issue with my alfa romeo, turned out it was the MAF Sensor, fixed it and never had a problem again, spent alot of money with mechanics before they found the issue. Hope i helped.
Fuse box water ingress had 2 of these all with exact same problem water stuffs up the fuse box also mine was trying to start without the key and doors locked. Mine was the fuse box as replaced it then it was fine until water got in again and always anti pollution fault followed by gearbox and handbrake fault i got rid of them i was sick and tired fixing them
Also they have a bag of pdf fluid which u have to change every 100000 miles it stops the cat shooting up it is under drivers side just in front of the back wheel under a plastic cover
You need lexia diagnosis tool. Cutting out could be many things. I had one same colour and spec on a 57 reg. Cutting out could be anything from turbocharger overboost block ed dog and diffencail pressure sensors. Depolution fault is just a generic warning.
Anti pollution system is your dpf. Diesel particulate filter, it’s blocked. Get this all the time at work. Go on a dual carriageway over 50mph over 2500rpm for 15mins and force a regen, if it doesn’t work you need to get dpf cleaned, or better still, get it gutted and mapped out
Anti pollution is your sooty partials block the dpf something to do with oxygen sensor. Martin try a diesel atative cleaner in fuel tank something like redex may help to clean soot off. Worth a try buddy.
Ben seems a really cool guy! Hope this will sort it out for him sadly I’m not so sure... Unfortunately without a code read you can’t see what the issue is. I have relatives that have a Peugeot 3008 and they have had 2 injectors go on there’s within the last 2 years car is a 2014.

Ever heard of the phrase "French car's and electrics do not mix!" Can-bus and Van-bus wiring is a spider web of signals from components and sensors. When one throws a fault it can trigger others within the web to throw faults too. Normally I'd recommend sell it or burn it. However I have faith in you...... good luck cus you'll need it 😂🤣👍
Turn ignition on ans hold brake and acceleration pedal at same time look at speedo and it will go it to a cycle and will give u fault cods if there is any dosnt do it on all cars maby check the ear valve to see if its blocked with carbon it might have a dpf 9n it if it had drive it and hold on high reves to get it hot and keep doing it and it will self clean

Same engine in the Ford Diesel lol
Bsi unit fault. Would try a re set on it martin not sure what the procedure is on these . These are a nightmare when they start esp with the EGS gearbox. (not read comments poss already been said) .
i have the same problem, but permanently, engine starts but can´t engage any gear, diagnose shows code U1208 comunication fault, any suggestion?
That fault is the Dpf blocked !
Vaporizer sensor , not regenerating....
If the dpf was blocked it wouldn't restart and it would be seriously low on power.
@@yorkshiredadandlad1531 some cars will restart if blocked, I work on cars every day .......
It could need some software updates for the ECU computer Martin. A lot of modules run in tandem so if one is faulty some of the others show faults to like the ABS module, park brake module etc. Also check the EGR valve they are known to cause faults.
Cheers, Jeff.
Just make sure you put a blanket over it Martin, just like the spring detentioning thing 🤣🤣🤣
I know that's not really an option while you're out in Cyprus.
is your add blue topped up,is your fuel pollution filter canister saturated with fuel?
That’s a very strange problem and I hope you find the care soon and excellent work thanks for the content stay safe and take care and have a nice time in sunny Cyprus
I repaired one of these recently, I found corrosion in the wiring behind the battery box, no chafing. It was literally just 2 wires but made all the difference!
On my Peugeot anti pollution light can mean anything you need a code reader on it Martin. 9 times out of ten on the Peugeot it’s the egr valve although it never cuts out when this happens.
I have same errors had an auto elec out he said it’s my egr so on to that to see if that sorts it
EGR Valve?? My friends did same problem. It was one fault and says another 5 problems.. just a thought..
Thanks guys for the video. I got the same problem in my citroen grand picasso 2011
Lovely that plug thing 👌thx for the information
Hello you should look into the dpf look see if black smoke out the load
Dpf give it a good thrashing ! is my guess and it be alright 😉good video retro restore abroad edition 👍👍
@@ruthgolding7424 you need to scrap it, I've scrapped my old one. I literally done everything to that car and it still cut out.
@@CallOfBrians don’t say that 😲🤦♂️
Any random issues with C4, DS4, 2008 etc
Add a supplementary earth cable from battery to chassis and another from engine to chassis, then change the clutch and accelerator pedal switches, followed by all four wheel sensors cables, carefully inspecting the pick ups.
Bad earths, and those few things generate the most bizarre array of (seemingly) unrelated faults, it's worth the few hours and £100 to get them out of the chain...80% of issues will clear up then and there
If your battery isn't showing at least 12.4 resting (after sitting overnight) and at least 10.5 while cranking the starter...so basically less than a couple of years old...that can also create havoc.
THEN start looking for dirty plugs, frayed wires etc
I've changed the EGR valve because of an £8 clutch switch before now.
We have a c4 grand picaso 2000 cc
Diesel and that has to have add blue or it cuts out if the add blue tank's empty
No Tim, this one doesn't
Bless you Martin even on holiday you still can’t help yourself, enjoy the warm sunny weather turned bad back home! 👎🏻
French cars and electrical problems = unfixable. Get rid sharpish.
Have to agree with that, terrible electrics
Well done Martin you can fix we all know that your the right man for the job 👌👍
Hope your having a blast mate.. nothing worse then an intermittent fault..have another beer and a swim..
great video martin and ben, my sister had a similar problem with her fiesta (2002) he would cut out every so often tried all sorts to sort it ford dealer, independant, auto electricians, over £1000 spent and no one could sort it in the end she had to get a new car it became dangerous with there being no warning when it was going to happen
Martin awesome video notice the English electric lightning jet you drove past
did u ever sort the problem? i’ve just removed my dpf blanked egr valve but not got it mapped yet but it’s cutting out and coming up with anti pollution system faulty
Yes, the dpf clean solved the problem.
@@retrorestorehow did you clean it?
First it is who ever bought the car's fault even if the dash does not show it. I would say vehicle arson would be a good solution. Way to many wires and stuff. Folks below seem to give some good advice. Thanks for sharing. Enjoy your new home.
Have the same problem on my C4 Grand Picasso. Is there a part 2 to this?
Yes we cleaned the DPF on video
Good to you and Ben in sorting this fault.
cracked solder joint on the ecu my m8s did it last week reolder it and sorted now
Its the particulate filter in the exhaust try resetting with obd scanner
antipollution system could be something to do with the DPF. try doing a forced regeneration? also, look online to see if the car has its own button sequence to do an on board diagnostic without a scanner.
I guess the pollen filter would be fairly close in proximity to the fuse box, being as it's tucked so fair back into the scuttle/firewall.
i had the same problem all light coming on , i fix it , it was the red wier for the ABS on the back wheel it was rotting away,
Thank you for that gentlemen. What you showed was very helpful! Did you ever sort it out and find a solution? If so could you please let me know? Thanks.
Yes, we removed the dpf and cleaned it. I did a video on that too.
Thank you for sharing your videos I am from South Africa
Looks like you have a problem with your bsi unit. Try taking it out and giving the contacts a good clean. Paul
Good luck with that Martin.

Common faults on c5's and c4 Picasso's now, basically it's needing a fuse board the one you cleaned.
Hi Martin it's the fuse box very common issue on all citreon/peugeot replaced many of them

Brilliant video lads. Full marks
you need to add particulate filter fluid under the driver side rear door I had to in mine
These can suffer with a bad earth wire to the gearbox.
Also when disconnecting the battery on a psa vehicle always do the bsi reset procedure or you are likely to get other faults
Depollution system fault is a generic message and needs to be scanned.
Use one of those freezer packs they put in cool boxes. Place it on the ECU if accessible to keep it cool incase its heat related
Fuse box water ingress had 2 of these all with exact same problem water stuffs up the fuse box also mine was trying to start without the key and doors locked. Mine was the fuse box as replaced it then it was fine until water got in again and always anti pollution fault followed by gearbox and handbrake fault i got rid of them i was sick and tired fixing them
Check brake light switching had c4 when u brake it cuts revs of car
Also they have a bag of pdf fluid which u have to change every 100000 miles it stops the cat shooting up it is under drivers side just in front of the back wheel under a plastic cover
Those battery connectors must be a citroen thing they are good, first time I seen them was on my old berlingo van.
You need lexia diagnosis tool. Cutting out could be many things. I had one same colour and spec on a 57 reg. Cutting out could be anything from turbocharger overboost block ed dog and diffencail pressure sensors. Depolution fault is just a generic warning.
Sorry dpf
Anti pollution system is your dpf. Diesel particulate filter, it’s blocked. Get this all the time at work. Go on a dual carriageway over 50mph over 2500rpm for 15mins and force a regen, if it doesn’t work you need to get dpf cleaned, or better still, get it gutted and mapped out
Good video guys many thanks
Anti pollution is your sooty partials block the dpf something to do with oxygen sensor. Martin try a diesel atative cleaner in fuel tank something like redex may help to clean soot off. Worth a try buddy.
Ben seems a really cool guy! Hope this will sort it out for him sadly I’m not so sure... Unfortunately without a code read you can’t see what the issue is. I have relatives that have a Peugeot 3008 and they have had 2 injectors go on there’s within the last 2 years car is a 2014.

Intermittent, different faults showing. ECU is possibly on its way out
Ever heard of the phrase "French car's and electrics do not mix!"
Can-bus and Van-bus wiring is a spider web of signals from components and sensors. When one throws a fault it can trigger others within the web to throw faults too.
Normally I'd recommend sell it or burn it.
However I have faith in you...... good luck cus you'll need it 😂🤣👍
Burn it, it's the kindest thing 😆😆😆
