About Fleabag:
Fleabag is a hilarious and poignant window into the mind of a dry-witted, sexual, angry, grief-riddled woman, as she hurls herself at modern living in London. Award-winning playwright Phoebe Waller-Bridge writes and stars as Fleabag, an unfiltered woman trying to heal, while rejecting anyone who tries to help her and keeping up her bravado all along.

Saw a cool theory on Reddit about how when he says her love will pass, it’s not only a way of comforting her, but also a recognition that human love is fluid, unpredictable, and fickle. He chooses God because he views Gods love as the opposite.
where’s the link?
@@aint4u not sure it the comment is still there, but this was the convo I saw
That makes sense!
it's not really a theory it's true
I wonder if she's Satan in human form? Wouldn't surprise me, narcissistic, I have long suspected Satan is a primadonna guurl loser.
He can see her break the 4th wall.
She can see his foxes.
They were perfect for one another.
Perfect for each other in an imperfect world. If he chose her over his faith, they both know he wouldn't be the person she fell in love with anymore. In that way, they've both chosen to continue loving each other.
F*ck, crying like a child for this comment, a Sunday night in Buenos Aires.
@@defyU this is the thing. It will continue because of the choice they made - more than just bagging the priest.
Andrew Scott was a fantastic addition to the cast. It's easy to forget that he was only in the second season, and he's the only person who really seems to understands Fleabag, including noticing whenever she's breaking the fourth wall to the audience.
One of my favourite things was him noticing the fourth wall breaks. Such a tiny detail, but it spoke volumes.
@@LilyGrace95me too. Especially the scene where he literally waves into the camera
I saw an interview where Paul Mescal said something about Andrew Scott being able to play Love like no one else. Andrew seems to genuinely love so deeply and nuanced. It’s inspiring truly
That tear rolling down his cheek after he said "I love you too" gets me every time 😪❤ I do miss them 😪
I JUST NOTICED THAT WOW
priest was right. It Will pass - like a fucking kidney stone - but it Will pass.
Shit, I should have said this a month ago when I broke up with my girlfriend
What I also love about this is that they knew where to end the show like it's so fucking perfect
why does nobody ever talk about how at 2:08, priest leans in a little to fleabag, as if wanting to kiss her, but then turning away the very next moment, as if having to physically stop himself from doing so? incredible acting, incredible writing, just an all round incredible show.
yeah both pheobe's writing and andrew scott's acting are world class. extremally talented duo
I think that's why he almost immediately afterwards stands up and says he'll walk. He was about to give in to temptation again. This was not a easy decision for him by any stretch. 😢
@@jena.alexia She symbolises Satan of course. Easy decision to walk away from that.
she leans in right when he says he'll walk, too.
@@jena.alexia That's a good point. Because as a priest, he knows not to fight lust, but FLEE from it. He literally did walk away from kissing her
The camera views feels like us, she didn't want us to follow her again by her head shaking, and just say goodbye in the end, what a lovely ending...
She was moving on without the need for us. A bittersweet victory from the viewers standpoint. I’d like to think a bit of resolve and growth for her character.
That she had the courage to tell him she loves him - without explanation or trying to make it less than it is - is wonderful. His casual, "I love you, too" is done so perfectly. We don't know if he loves her the same way she loves him - maybe he does, but we'll never know either way! - but it is love and it is beautiful and my heart swells whenever I watch this scene. And he does help her - by the end she knows that she'll be all right.
I will never get over this
me too, i'm bawling every time i watch it
It'll pass.
Permanent.
I will get over it when I get over the person in my life who was "not in a place for a relationship " and who later ghosted me. One day at a time .
I can’t believe I actually searched for this to watch it one more time and now I crying again. Oh my heart.
I'm literally sobbing so hard rn. It's like I came here to hurt myself on purpose
No matter how difficult and painful it is to accept but he is right "it will pass" like a passing rain.
I don't know if this was serendipitous or done on purpose, but the word graffitied on the bus stop is ЖИВОТЕ, meaning LIFE in Serbian, written in the vocative case. It's what one shouts out to no one in particular when exasperated and when there is nothing more to say. Oh life!
To sam i ja videla gledajuci ovu scenu ponovo, i samo je sve imalo vise smisla i neki veci nivo lepote ❤
Wow
Thank you.
great catch, thanks
that's a great catch!
I love the fox bit as well, foxes in the bible symbolize the first raising of sin. basically, the sins that seem negligible, but in the end could end up corrupting you. It really makes sense why she can see it and why it follows the priest.
That's Beautiful. Is it the same in Russian?
I love this ending. It's got the ability to heal and devastate you.
I'm probably wrong but I'd like to think the viewer is actually fleabag communicating to her mother.
the priest being close to God is the only one who sees her "disappear" also makes sense.
And her loving the priest is the reason why she can see the fox.
I think is more like the viewer is her confident and can hear what is she really thinking all time in all situations...like a scape window. At the end she accept everything and she stops being auto destructive and now she is sincere with her self even if that breaks her heart. Now she does' t need that scape anymore and the viewer is left behind
im devastated
Bravo Vince
Not every story ends well. But all bad endings aren't necessarly a bad thing! That's how I view Phoebe's message!
This scene is so beautifully written & acted. You can feel all of the emotions between them.
I always thought she tossed the sculpture in the trash, but she still has it in her hand as she walks away
mandella. me too
I know right??
It’s kinda cool that they walk in opposite directions with the fox still following him, but ww can longer follow her.
"It'll pass". No, it won't. It will get a little easier each day, gradually hurt a little less but not being able to be with someone you love and having to let them go is one of the worst feelings of all. I watched this just to cry all over again because it is such an achingly beautiful scene. 🥺
karma they call it i think
It will. I promise you, it will. ♡ Every feeling, every sensation, every thought. It will pass.
This is what carries me through life.
I'm crying, too though. I actively came back to this scene because it deeply touched me.
I'm still at the station waiting for Fleabag
Ive watched this series more times than I care to admit and i don't think there has been a better story ever told. This final scene in particular, how poignantly perfect it is, I tear up every time I see it. It's videographic poetry.
I have the exact same feelings. It's so real and raw, no other series or movie has touched what this series does in me
It didn’t pass. 😭😭😭😭 it’ll never pass 😭
It'll pass. You might remember it every now and again. Music will remind you of them. But it always passes. There are always better feelings to have.
It would be a tragedy to have a Season 3, but boy would I love a Hot Priest spin-off.
Heartbreaking perfection ❤
I’ll never ever get over this scene….
This kills me every time ..
4th wall broken so beautifully!😌
First he dies being Moriaty... then he doesn't get the girl... BBC... we never get a happy end, do we?
More like the girl doesn’t get him
Whilst I don’t believe in fate or love at first sight, I do believe that you can have the love of your life. It may not be this ultimate journey where you defy all odds to be together or even when you end up together as life partners… but i do believe it is someone who you meet at the right time and place for it to change you for the better, forever.
Fleabag meets the priest and though as the audience, we do naturally root for them to be together in the end, I believe that their “happily ever after” is this ending. Neither of them gave up a crucial part of themselves for love but they were together long enough, even if it was for just a snippet of their lives, to show eachother real, raw love and to grow. They exposed eachother and walked through it all together whilst never judging eachother. They did everything in unison even if they didn’t agree.
Throughout season 2, you do have a gut feeling of not wanting them to lose themselves to the relationship (even if you do want them to be together despite this). However, the beauty of this ending is that, not only do they do NOT lose themselves, you realise that they hadnt even found themselves before finding eachother.
I guess that’s what I mean when I say I believe in the love your life. They help you find yourself so that you can be a better person. Whether that be with them or without them…
Thats beautiful and moving. Thank you so much for sharing
@@vaenskapelsen thank you :)
I just love this season so much. When you know the characters it does offer hope that this is not the end for them. After all, he is hardly someone who follows the rules and neither is she. By loving him she has allowed herself to heal from some of the traumas of the past. She’s getting better, she leaves us behind as she doesn’t need us any more. I bet he’ll be back round her house in no time wanting to be with her, he won’t stay away. 😂😂
she is so talented
This show was fantastic. I miss it
One of my favorite shows of all time.
Anytime you need a good cry and laugh. ❤
This scene always breaks me
I love this show.
Masterpiece
“He went that way”
Interesting. The graphity on the stop's glass states ЖИВОТ in cyrillic. It means LIFE.
Живот means stomach in Russian. I think it says “живое” which translates to “alive.”
@@katrinad.571 So it's pretty close. In Bulgarian "живот" is "life" :)
So good, I can't ever watch this season again 💔
One of the greatest endings to a show ever
The Hound of Heaven... indeed.
"It'll pass."
it never really does.
"it'll pass" I know but when doesn't it have to?
This feeling by alabama shakes
I love that the graffiti on the background in russian means "alive" (ЖИВОЕ)
Still can’t identify one letter there (and I’m Russian!) - живое, живые, животе? 😅
@@alexfrzn4it's definitely ЖИВОТЕ
She had to know . When the other woman is God ....
Also, she's Satan.
I just wish the fox had said 'chaos reigns'
He's got a long road of recovery from alcoholism ahead of him.
Too soon.
So at least she wasn't "holy ghosted "
whats the name of the instrumental playing???????
It'll be something by Phoebe's sister who wrote all the music used in the show.
This Feeling- Alabama Shakes
I could never find it either. It's a version of the song "Kyrie" that plays a few times earlier in the show, but it's not on any of Phoebe's Spotify lists
It’s from song In mémoriam, by Bruno Coulais
Her mother was the fox 🫢😭
No her mother was the statue and the fox was the devil (or his past sins)
I think the fox is his ‘sins’ following him around.
@@garedmorort She's Satan.
It will pass
I am going through the same. Pls help me
🌙
The priests holding his tears 😭
She’s so me
He couldn't have become C of E? Pity.
I love you
It didn't pass for me by the way
shit happens, life is ultimately completely futile.
Thanks for ruining Indiana jones
She kinda did. Although Fleabag is an incredible show and Phoebe Waller-Bridge is a fantastic screenwriter, her writing style was not a good fit for Indiana Jones, in my opinion.
@@davy209 She had nothing to do with the writing. It was J Butterworth x2, David Koepp and the director, James Mangold.
@tellyknessis6229- My apologies, you’re absolutely right. I accidentally mixed up Dial of Destiny with No Time To Die, which she did co-wrote the script and the movie was fantastic!
**for saving
You could argue with me for decades and never, ever convince me that Priests not being allowed to marry is anything other than cruel.
🥹
It is also (obviously) not any part of God's laws nor scriptures. Just some cruelty invented by Rome, who knows why, they wanted to attract sodomites probably.
