This song builds up, it is a lot of story telling in the beginning and than they go lose and you feel it. I love this song so much. Epic. Floor is as always amazing, the band...all of them wizzards, the lyrics are pure poetry. I love them so much!

More layers reveal themselves with each and every listen which is typical for me with every Nightwish composition. Oh those tempo changes and transitions that bring you right back to the start. Nightwish has the music style which can really be noticed when just one hears it. It has been there all the time with all the singers cause the music has the same vibe including pure instrumental songs. You should know that Tuomas writes these songs and lyrics...he is a poet too...at the same time - "Turn every poet lose".

First time I listened to "7 Days" on the Dark Passion Play CD I didn't feel it either. A few listens later it was... hum OK. It was the live version with Floor that convinced me. Floors power, her voice and her energy can't be compared with Annettes, although she did a great job on DPP. Now this song is one of my favorites. Floors version of course....

Carpe Diem my friends. This one is one of Floor's favorites to sing. As you can tell with the power she unleashes. The wolves and the poison are metaphors for death. It is never far away and we must grab all of the life and opportunities before it is too late. heroes live every moment and are never afraid of failure. Cowards die with regrets because they are to scared of failure and never take the chance. you have to learn to wait for the build up. Almost all Nightwish song build to a climax. No worries Dominika. We totally forgive you. We all have opinions and yours changed as the song progressed. I had the same reaction and now it is one of my favorites. Floor is on fire vocally in this song. Loved it!

The song is concepted like that on purpose. As title says, there is slow sense of discomfort in the first part (waiting 7 days for danger to come) and then fight and fireworks happen, with division of cowards and heroes.
Troy in the background, Irish Bouzouki, flat back, I think. Emppu with his purple EV-1 Yes different, but then, part two, "Wembley, Let's GO!" always gets me, my home country. Chuggity, chug, chug! Synchronised pyro, lighting, video wall = Crewish. Emppu jamming with Troy! Tuomas headbanging, almost out of control...

But the conception of the book has nothing to do with the text behide the song, it is far more inspired by the film "Dead Poets' Society". The main idea is - one must live his life the best he can, to strive for his aims, because the wolves are always 7 days behind you and they will cath you if your life is not of full value... and then you will be only dead meat. That's what Tuomas said in one interview couple of days ago...
This song is a real conflict for me. Love it, no doubt. One of my favorite NW tracks. The lyrics are dark, yet the music is almost church-like in how uplifting it is. I may be the only one who feels this though.
