  • Ireland has so much to offer! When people think of Ireland, perhaps the first thing they think of is Dublin, the cliffs of Moher or Galway. But have you ever set foot in the beautiful County Donegal?!?
In this video, I explore the town of Buncrana, County Donegal, Ireland and see what this quaint village has to offer. Find out what the connection is between this town and the author of the world renowned song ‘Amazing Grace’ - John Newton. The connection is vital, so much so, this town has a lookout called the Amazing Grace viewpoint!
I take a walk along the banks of beautiful Louth Swilly, and take in the views of the surrounding hills and countryside. And I’ll give you a taste of what it is like in this beautiful Irish town. A trip to Ireland wouldn’t be complete without a stop at the local pub! After all, when in Ireland, you have to do as the Irish do!

Just yards from we’re you stood the ship laurentic just off loaded 5crew due to sickness and then steamed off up lough swilly and when reaching the the open Atlantic struck a German mine with the loss of several hundred men 77 of which are buried at Fahan church graveyard just 5 miles from were you stand .

Wow, I didn’t realise! Tragic what happened. The crew of 5 must have been counting their lucky stars to have gotten off the ship in time!

I remember that PBS had a show devoted to Amazing Grace and how it came to be written. This is a nice reminder
