I was just thinking about setting this machine on a tracksaw. I'm imagining it will cut 600mm long ceramic tiles like a dream. Perhaps using a continuous rim opposed to the blade it comes out with. I'm thinking it has more power than the 12 volt. Also if you cut a 5mm tile, I'm thinking you can get away with hauling a big wet saw when you may just need to do some cuts. I'm not on the makita platform and this is one instance that may persuade me. I do have makita corded tools. Just not battery powered at the moment.
Great machine but few problems. Takes a specialised non stantard 125mm blade with a 20mm bore. Not the grinder compatible 125mm with the 22.23mm bore. Sydney Brisbane tools don't even sell the 20mm bore discs so you need by bushing adaptors. Also the hose fittings don't fit either of the Australian standard taps. So you need to make a trip to Bunnings for irrigation fittings. Having said that though it is a great tool and I wouldn't do cladding without it now. Wet cutting is the best and I can't believe no one else makes these since fibre cement is so dangerous and to do cladding fast you have to use a diamond blade. Makita are literal life savers with this.
Dinner 85. I remember cutting fibre cement sheeting and using a sthil cordless 36 volt 230mm wet saw. It cut the sheets like a dream even fairly quickly. Although the sheets got rather wet.
All mobile secular saws spin up, to hold the saw tight to the cutting surface. If it went the other way, your saw would want to crawl up and out of the cut.
Mine just arrived. After testing I am wondering about water box. One I have is leaking water all the way, maybe it is just problem of gasket/gum which they forgot to put in...? I don't know. Blade which follow original isn't quite good for ceramics and another type I like and prefer fits just like all others 22,2mm not 20mm. Thats not big thing but u have to remember to get 22,2->20mm transision. Did anyone has same problem with that water box like me?
Hi, I was wondering if you could help a Brit out, I have just bought this cutter in the U.K and it is sold here completely bare, no battery, no blade, no wet cutting etc and I’m desperately trying to find a 20mm arbour 125mm blade to fit it to cut porcelain tiles but in the U.K I can only find 22.23mm arbour disks and no adapter, Makita U.K are trying to find a disk but they haven’t been able to find me one yet and I desperately need to use it at the weekend, so if you know a disk that would fit it I would be very grateful :)
@@SydneyToolsTV hi, thank you for your reply, i really appreciate it, I will try and get an adapter ring from eBay as I can’t get one in the u.k at the moment! I found out this morning from Makita U.K. that the Makita Comet range are only available in Oz and that they may start supplying the disks for my new machine in the next 2 months, sometimes I wish I lived in Oz lol! thanks again :)
@@claudiudoia555 thankyou for your reply, at the time of asking there were no shops selling a reducer so in the end I bought a disk with the reducer included in the package from ebay.
This Makita model has a problem with 45-degree cuts on the guide rail. The adapter dedicated to model DCC500/DCC501 and 4000KB is not suitable for cutting at an angle of 45 degrees with the use of a guide rail. Big mistake...
Thank you. I’ve known this saw existed, used it a few times too, never knew there was an adapter for the track! Gonna get one now.

@@ron1martens Good idea.. but sounds like a monster to run. And yes the sludge cleanup is definitely a down side. With you on that.🙄
Hey Tim, the corded makita dry diamond cutter.. Can the bottle and hose attachments connect to that also?
Hey sydney tools, would you recommend this for a plumber in relation to chasing bricks for pipe rough ins?
I would recommend a chaser as it will do both cuts at the same time and save you time. Dewalt has a cordless solution for this.
Brilliant love makita dont think the other brands have one them yet 👌👍
Yes kobalt have it too
Why does the blade spins anticlockwise?? From Jamaica 🇯🇲🙏🏼

This is an Aussie channel. If you run this saw in Jamaica or anywhere else in the northern hemisphere it spins clockwise.
whats the guide rail adapter part number for this saw?
Hi. What is the difference between 500 model and 501 please? Thanks
ive used this for stone, but is it too fast a rpm for wood? what would(wood) happen pardon the pun...guessing it would burn it
Does it have a straight guide ???
This would be better if the blade rotation was going the other way, it would reduce surface chip out!
Is this recommended for cutting cement sheets and fibre boards?
I’d get a fiber cement blade for a circ or track saw and good dust extraction.
cutting a tile circle would this do the job ? not a hole in a tile
It could but a grinder would be better
would this be able to cut 40mm thick marble?
Any new info on the new Subcompact drills and impact driver?
Can you provide the link where to buy the bottle
Hi as this is unavailable in the uk at the moment. Could I order one from you if the price is right.
Its not due out till 30/9/21 so hopefully will get some news here in UK soon!
Look forward to it, I’ve just ordered the 4100kb for now with the guide rail and adaptor.
Will order the 501 once it’s here.
Amazon
That my friend looks amazing😍
When are we getting this in America 💔💔💔💔
Can you also cut tiles with this thing?

Does anyone know if they sell this in America?
Is their an attachment for the 40vxgt lineup

I know we sell adapter rings that sit inside the gap between the arbour and the disk. You'll have to hit up a specialist tool store there sorry.

Angle grinder + wet sponge do the job 😀
😲👌👍👊 need 1 makita
Vary nice machine
In the USA you don’t get the dry accessories (clear guard and dust bag) bugger!!
Unfortunate 🙃
Why does this bottle and how connector leak.......what going on!!!! On a brand new tool
Sounds faulty. Please return to the store you purchase from,
Hola
I got this for mitre and doesn’t work $350 in Australia even doesn’t deserve $100
I have all Makita tools but this one is just wasted!!!
What doesn't work about the mitre? The saw won't bevel to 45 as I demonstrated in the video?
Do mitre from the edge of the tile and tell me if i am not correct
Blade is on the wrong side again...
I'm right handed and I love the blade on this side, like my DHS680Z
That's interesting, I would say it's on the right side.
