    It's a shame when a review can be skewed by not having the proper sized bike for the rider... There are SO many small details that can make or break perception for bike tests... And in my opinion, size is the #1 thing to get right, to establish a good opinion (among other things... Tires, suspension setup, all the PSI's...etc)...
    Also surprised that it the different geometry positions weren't even mentioned, or tried ?
    I think the assessment is valid though... For a rider who has the climbs as gnarly as the descents...

      The Crashing Dad agreed this is the best bike I’ve ever ridden.

      Leo Castro - seriously 🙏.... But, I think anyone can LOVE just about ANY bike that costs over $3k or $4k.... Size, tires, setup....
      But I feel like the altitude stands out... For ME, and MY terrain and trails... Cheers!

      The Crashing Dad. 100% Agree. This is the most capable trail bike I have ever had. Even the opening discussion ignored the fact that Rocky market the bike as a Rough Trail bike not an Enduro bike.

      @TheCrashingDad 6 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Michael Theodorakis - seriously... I feel like it's an "Aggressive Trail" bike that's "Enduro worthy"... Depending on setup.
      Even the classification on the website says "aggressive trail" 🤦😂
      ... I feel like everyone gives these guys shit every year though... It's so hard to REALLY review a bike... Especially with only a few rides while you're comparing a ton of bikes...
      And then you could leave important things out...
      But I'll definitely praise them this year for at least having high quality video, sound, and production 👍🤘

      Strongly concur. I've been riding this thing as an east coast trail bike in the steep setting, I've yet to really point it down any serious hills, but it's working super-well for what I ride-up and down techy rock moves, drops, and roll-downs. And I do plan on racing a season of Enduro on it. Silly little edit here: th-cam.com/video/MYFxoaOJQEU/w-d-xo.html

    I've been riding this bike since august. I've sold my beloved Santa Cruz Bronson 'cause this one is very similar but just a little bit more stable in fast and steep descents. I love the concept of aggressive trail bikes, i.e. not quite enduro (but very close), with the benefit of a poppy, maneuverable, super playful FUN bike. I agree, testers can't have the time to tune every bike to perfection, and sizing is critical but still... it's a super exciting bike, this review doesn't do it justice. And yes, I've seen with my eyes the RM EWS team absolutely rip on this bike on my local terrain (Finale Ligure, Italy), nobody will convince me that is not capable of fast and hard enduro riding. Even spoke to Remi Gauvin, he didn't use the long stroke shocked, hot rodded version, just the stock setting with a big bad Fox X2. Super super bike, love it.

    Didn't Jesse Melamed ride one of these to top of the podium in Whistler? If it's good enough for him....

      Coming from the future, Jesse won again on the new altitude

      Also from the future… state your height as you talk about reach because without that reference point it’s useless jabber to the viewer. Plus the one dude that s a foot shorter in the shoulder… I
      Did he ride the same bike as the longer dudes???

    I've spent 150 days riding this bike and it is amazing ! I don't understand why the Rocky mountain slayer wasn't compared to these bikes instead of the altitude ? It's not there biggest bike. The altitude climbs rough shit extremely well and has excellent feedback under your feet. Great bike dismal review

    You said the pipeline is an all-mountain bike with the plus tires, but the rocky mountain with considerably slacker geometry is more like a trail bike?

  • @LoamerMTB

    Favorite bike of all time. The alloy 70 shimano build is awesome. I had no trouble with steep burly lines and was still really fun in smooth flowy poppy stuff. I agree with last statement. It’s for someone who’s climbing AND descending technical terrain. Not an efficient pedaler but tons of traction and slays descents.

    If this bike is not a super confident descender, then why is the Rocky Mountain enduro team on these instead of the slayer?

    • @MultiAlxndr
      @MultiAlxndr 6 ปีที่แล้ว

      They don't really the change the shock and bushing so it runs 180mm of travel, it would ride quite differently

      The slayer was used for most of the season, but some (not all) riders decided to use this bike on longer, more pedal-intensive stages.

    Would of loved to see the remedy tested in this bible. It hasn't been in for a while and the 2018 looks as if it's got some new specs.

      I'm with you there. Want to support my lbs. Trek and Santa Cruz heavy. I demoed a 2018 remedy 8 in Sedona. That thing was awesome on everything. Playful, plush, efficient, and CAPABLE. Thinking of throwing down for 9.8. Don't see much on the Remedy these days. Don't know why.

    When will you review the Instinct 29er?

  • @zxtenn

    LOVE my 2019 Instinct carbon 90 BC edition and dont think i will be replacing for a while, maybe just pick up a short travel and much lighter bike for the easier terrain... So many people say the RM rear suspension is very well thought out and functional i guess everyone has their own opinion.

    This is a hardcore enduro machine. That can still climb. Its an ews podium winner. Can be used on a wide range. Multi day xc rides, and bike park laps with 40’ jumps peppered in.
    My 18’ is a ripper of a bike.

    Im thinking about buying the 2017 version, i mostly ride super flow/jump trails and ocasionally ride super tech in super altitude. But i mostly focus on jumping, is this bike right for me?

    Just a suggestion...you need to make some changes on your channel ! Too much talking and you're not even showing a lot of action on riding the bike itself ! Worst yet, you're standing in front of the bike, what the hell??! This is a bike review, right??? The bike's supposed to be showing off in the front...this is not about showing off your coffee drinking, video, is it ???
