    It's about time the networks learned this is the content people want. Whether it's Romo in the booth, Baldy Breakdowns, Peyton Manning breaking down plays, etc, this is where it's at.

      Well with sports in general their commentary has always been about attracting new fans, not retaining the ritualised old ones. In terms of football coverage guess who it is generally aimed at? Rhymes with swimming...
      Yes that's right marking out where the line of scrimmage is, forever explaining the rules and letting you know a million times that Edelman was a QB in high school lol. All for attracting women to the game as it already does an amazing job of retaining men. The pretty presentation and screen graphics for breaking down plays none of it is aimed at you as a man...

    • @MickeyKraut419
      @MickeyKraut419 5 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@rogerhoke9725 The thing is that Harbaugh is fully capable of becoming an Elite coach. IMO, he's just too damned stubborn and competitive for his own good. He wants to bury teams with a two TE/ TE FB power running game and set up play action off of it. He loves winning inside his box more than winning itself. That is his problem. Elite coaches like Meyer and Saban, great coaches like James Franklin and Brian Kelly, and even good like Dantonio, Kirk Ferentz and Pat Fitzgerald know this of him. They know how to exploit it and plan for TTUN accordingly to make the effort to force him to have to play outside that box. I hate to say this cause I do think Harbaugh is the best available coach TTUN can have in the forseeable future, and I want The Game to be an impactful and very meaningful rivalry every year on a national level, but this could very well be a hotseat year for Harbaugh. I think in the least he needs to beat both Ohio State and Penn State, and needs to really beat Notre Dame and Sparty as well... If he doesn't, they have no chance of winning the conference and competing for a spot in the playoff... That is the standard at Ohio St, at TTUN, to win The Game, win the Conference and compete for the National title. He's in his 5th year now... it's time to produce or admit he must address the shortcomings or be canned.

    When Urban retired from Florida, I was watching. When asked if he'd return some day, he said "Yeah, Ohio State, so I can stay near home." He's been living in Dublin Ohio for years.
    I started cheering, hoping he would. I know that the AD at OSU was probably also cheering. I don't know how the hiring came about, but I suspect that a year later, when in search of a new coach, Urban was probably the first, and only call. I'm sure that Urban asked his wife and family. They obviously approved.

    Ran the option on my high-school team, exactly perfect. One of the great things about it is also the ability to create counters. If the D plans well they usually assign someone for each option and, as long as their players follow what they need to do and do it, they stop the options. What we would do is run a counter play and let those assigned players go away from the ball and block the man who would be going for the running back. More rarely, but also more effectively, we would run a play that for all intensive purposes is an option play, but we pull some linemen who would originally be blocking linebackers and have them create a pull block away from the play. The QB hands it to the other slot who is going with the linemen, but behind the QB to get a clean hand off, and now we have a bunch of people going for a fake option play, and others crashing down on the opposite side, still doing their assignments, and running it right around them as they don't event think about the edge.

  • @Moshealthtips

    • @StephenDoty84
      @StephenDoty84 5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @John Cena Good correction. (I knew they were a top 25 team.) That was an even more historic win then. And in the Wiki article, it says the AP poll had Wisconsin ranked #11. We may never see a game like that again, because "Wisconsin was favored by 4.5 points over Ohio State, but Ohio State won by a score of 59-0. Making it the first and only College football Conference Championship game where one of the teams was held scoreless."

      Stephen Doty......LMAO.....I'm a Buckeye and I can flat out tell you, Urban Meyer's coaching had ZERO to do with it. Meyer would have had us home watching the CFP's had things gone HIS WAY. But instead, JTB-IV broke an ankle and Meyer WAS FORCED TO PLAY A QB HE DIDN'T EVEN WANT ON THE FIELD. Playing a completely DIFFERENT BRAND OF FOOTBALL, Tom Herman and Cardale Jones guided us to 3 of the most BALANCED victories I've ever seen in college football vs elite teams. Thanks Tom. Thanks Cardale. For winning IN SPITE OF URBAN MEYER !

    This is what you want: educated fans. When viewers understand what they're looking at, and why plays do/don't work, they don't need every game to be a 55-51 scoring extravaganza in order to appreciate what they see on the field. The mental aspect of what players and coaches do is as important as the athleticism involved, but commentary/analysis often seems to be dumbed-down and hyped-up to appeal to a type of fan that doesn't really exist.
