that was a great video . i am building a high setting chest holster the customer wants it at a 45* angle and its a old revolver, i liked the shoulder strap and the connection in the back that is awesome. that takes me forever hand stitching and lacing, thank you for that awesome video again
I like dull finishes on my hunting arms holsters and slings. But if I'm going to use it for home defense or something like that it could be really shiny. Really nice work sir. Great project it's wonderfully complicated and well thought out.
The guy I made this for isn't going to use it for hunting, but this style of shoulder straps is usually for a hunting pistol. I have used other finishes but I prefer Resolene for its durability.
Nice design…I enjoyed following along with the build, and really appreciate your explanations of your design choices. I’m still working out a design for myself…I want to incorporate a modular design, where I can swap out holsters for various of my hunting handguns.
This design is easy to change the holster because I attached the straps with screw posts. I have also seen shoulder holsters where the straps are attached to a flat piece of leather with holes in it. The holsters have screw posts that can be used to attach them to that piece of leather. If you punch the holes in an arc you can also adjust the angle of the holster by using different holes to attach the holster.
I paused to ask, but after I ask ima put my phone down and get some sleep. 5 am comes early. What is that half round knife you use called? I've heard them called a head knife maybe? And a couple other names i can't recall
They are just called Round knives or Head knives depending on who you talk to. The largest manufacturer I know of in the US is C.S. Osborne and they use both names for two slightly different shaped blades.
Beautiful work
Thank you!
Nice work! Thoughtful design, well executed.
Thank you. There was a lot of time spent planning before any leather was cut for this project.

From now on when I see a really big guy on the street I’m going to say “now that’s a lot of strap”… haha
Excellent leather skills thanks for showing us🙏👍👍👍
Thank you and thanks for watching.

Nice work great piece man
Thanks.
any word on the pattern being available soon?!?
Great idea. Do you offer the pattern for sale in digital format, understanding the holster would need to be designed for specific guns?
I have not digitized this pattern. Maybe some day, but there always seems to be more things to do than time to do them.
Thank you for responding. I appreciate your response. @@bransonsgeneralstore
Where did you get the patterns.?
I draw my own patterns mostly. I have some of my holster patterns available on Etsy, but I have not scanned this one yet.
Where do you get that plastic strap end template?
I bought it from Tandy leather. tandyleather.com/products/craftool-acrylic-templates?_pos=1&_sid=9f1a6e7e4&_ss=r

How much for a rig like this for a 4 3/4" single action Ruger Vaquero
I'm not currently taking orders because I have to physically trace the gun to get a proper fit. Thanks for watching.
How can I put in an order for one
I don't currently take internet orders for these because I need to have the gun in person. Thanks for watching, though.
