Nice that yours is still in original camo pattern. The one I bought had been painted over in desert tan.
Every surface has an eighth inch of heavy paint covering it. The keeper rings on the cylinders arent even visible. Every nut and fitting has to be first beat with a hammer and screwdriver to get a wrench to fit on it.
@lucasdog1 Oh my! Yes, when these things get into the wrong hands it's cobble-town! Mine had its share of B.S. like all the fuses are just door screws! Really!? "Door screws for fuses? Go to Expedition Imports and spend $5 you cheapo." It's crazy.
I just bought one myself this week, thanks for posting about the fuel lines, mine has the same issue.
I love my Unimog!
I am having one heck of a time repairing the 406 we have. It was cobbled together over the years before we got it - so - it is to be expected, I guess. I cannot purge the air from the fuel tank to the exterior fuel pump. I am wondering if the dip tube has micro holes in it... I have looked around for a dip tube and I don't know where I can get one. Any ideas would be great. Thank you! Great video!
@rongray4118 Not too familiar with the 406 but I did have similar issues until I pulled the entire fuel system (fuel line) and found a broken fitting that connected the fuel pump to the return system fuel line. I would make sure everything is new and replace all the T-junction's if there are any. Best of Luck!
@@CarswellsCustoms other than a few revisions for "military purposes" the 406 and FLU419 are pretty much the same machine.
chassis harness on your g8 v6 to v8 swap video do i need to switch the connectors from the v6 one and when i plug the v8 harness do i plug it into the 2 connectors that's together on the side panel and do i leave the v6 transmission connector unplugged
@Ricky Jacobs the V8 harness should plug directly into the factory v6 chassis harness under the passenger side dash.
@@CarswellsCustoms do you have an email
@@CarswellsCustoms do i need to pull the whole dash out to take the harness out
@@RickyJ_12 No, pull the Passenger side glove box. Did you purchase AllDataDIY for the year of your car? When customers bring their cars to me, AllDataDIY is already included in the repair price. No negotiation on that one. Email mymusiconmyiphone@gmail.com
@@RickyJ_12 On the v6 to V8 video, check out 0:55 and it shows the connectors that need to be connected under the passenger side dash and passenger kick panel.
