I think a whole year of a theme would make the final result sooo pretty! But, you also might get bored so maybe something general like magic (maybe with 1 - 3 colors that go throughout the year). Then each month, you can still have your overall theme but can change it up: cookery witch, spooky witch, herbalist witch, gothic witch, pastel witch, etc. Hoping that makes sense! Love your bujo!
I'm not sure if I could do an annual theme, but I think that it would be fun to try so long as the theme wasn't too strict. For example, only doing mushrooms all year would get really boring, but "nature" or "forest" might be broad enough. You wouldn't even have to do the expected forest themes - you could throw in a few unexpected things like stories with forests (Lord of the Rings or a fairy tale) or the end of the forest (the coast or a field). You could make just about anything witchy, you'd just have to think about how you could turn your monthly theme ideas into a witchy version (flowers - herbal remedies, or correspondences, a different theme for each of the elements, etc.).
Oh yeah, I totally agree! It has to leave enough room for creativity and spontaneous ideas, I couldn't do a very strict theme for a whole year :D Thanks for sharing your ideas! 🤗

I'm late to comment here, but I don't think I could stick with one theme for a whole year. I admire people who can, and I think they look great; but I don't think I could do it. June I did citrus fruits. July was Independence Day theme. September was aliens. October was Nightmare Before Christmas. November was autumn. December is a pastel woodland theme. I like doing really different themes each month. That's fun for me, but as I said, I love your spreads and I'm sure a year long journal with the same theme would be beautiful!

But I think its wonderful, that you know what's fun for you and how you enjoy bullet journaling. There's no real reason to stick to one theme for a whole year, so don't compare yourself to those who do that ;) I think a wild mix of different themes is just as beautiful and a lot of fun ;)
