I believe the point was to give him the time. He was waiting for a count down and knew the Cenobites would find him. The hologram was to deflect attention long enough forthe satellties to align. The bloodline had to end once and for all as part of the original theme, if it goes on, it can be reborn, new things could be built, it could begin again.
Becayse Cenobites aren't meant to be stupid. They cna read minds and sense if someone is there, as shown in the previous films. Pinhead can't be fooled by just light, he'd know no one is there. Plus the Bloodline had to end to fully atone.
@elgrigorio1 Well, it takes place in the future, isn't it? All other films take place in the present. So it is final Hellriser movie by the timeline of their universe)
