Good video. Very comprehensive. I wonder why the bear is the only subject that gave the auto focus trouble

I think because of the focusing distance of the XF 18-55. Not sure though.

@ You think you were too close to the bear?

Well AF works as expected even at 55mm when in Area AF Mode regardless if Subject Detection is ON or OFF 12:29
In the other AF Modes while at 55mm like you noticed too, the camera is having a hard time refocusing on the foreground object. Again not entirely sure what is happening there 🤔

So they added this to XS20, but not to XT3.. Nice Fuji, nice.

Looks good. Could you do another test where you move towards a subject? Because that's where the AF-C fails on my X-T5 with the latest firmware. It won't keep the subject in focus smoothly during the movement. And either do the focusing in a jerky stepping way (with increased focus speed setting). Or it wont try to keep the focus at all during the movement and will find the focus after I stop moving (with decreased focus speed setting).

I'll set some time to test out moving subjects too. In the meantime, I just watched @photorabz review of this new firmware on his own X-S20 where he does exactly what you're looking for. So maybe it's worth checking out his review too.

AFC tracking on the XT5 is worse than v2.10. Not sure why you're testing subjects that are not even moving. Go outside and try and track some birds, squirrels, dogs, etc. It is not very good
