Was able to get a picture with Clayton at the USA Championships in Eugene last summer. He was a gentleman even after a gutsy, difficult race when he probably would have rather been left alone. Keep up the great career.

Loved the video format and was a great input into some real specific breakdown of workouts to give confidence of being able to handle those goal splits. Although is that kind of preparation something you can transfer up distances into the realms of 3k /5k without excessively fatiguing?

Sorry to be the "downer" here. 2023 preview? Clayton will do what he has always done - sit to far back in the pack to kick and pass the real ballers on the world stage. Champions work on their weaknesses. His coach should be pushing him to work on going out quickly, then finishing quickly. SCREW this 30/28 crap, 27/31 will get him ready for a more aggressive race. We all know he has heart and can finish fast, can he be in the race early on is the question.

@@RunnersUniteCoaching well, no sophomoic response? Does my experience and "time" qualify me as knowledgeable, perhaps? This is not personal! I believe Mr Murphy stands a better chance of WC or Olympic gold by being more aggressive. You got to be in it to win it.

I've followed your career closely and believed that the 2016 sub 1:43 was something you could replicate because of your speed and strength. My comment was not thoughtfully composed, I apologize. Regardless, I will always watch, scream "Go Clayton" at the screen and hope for that aggressiveness/ recklessness that earns you a gold at WCs or Olympics.

I do believe you gone kill your power to surge those 400 meters. your tweak muscle have to keep them for sprinting fast. most runner who used to run on track going for road race now come back they can't run on a track because there muscle damaged. I run 14km max for my 10km road training to build endurance aerobic building stuff. your max around 6 miles just my experience with alot of runnner
