If Toyotaro will continue the story, I think that my tiny hope of watch humans (Krillin, Tien, Yamcha and Chiaotzu - NOT Roshi, please, he was a retired elder, putting him again at the level of the others is very wrong -) appear again doing something a little relevant (fight against side/minor enemies) will vanish definitively.
@@ihavenonamestilldonthaveon8970 but for making them having hard time against random weak soldiers or a damn robot bee? Or loosing fights at one or two punches (look what happened to Krillin and Tien in the ToP)? I'm not sure.
@@ihavenonamestilldonthaveon8970 about those humans after the Cell saga, you are right, but there was only one more saga and the story ended. So, there was not so much time for seeing them being completely wasted (during Cell saga there was almost no action from them, but at least Krillin and Tien still had some relevance in the plot). Also, at that point of Dragon Ball (Majin Boo saga), Toriyama was tired and wanted to end the story as soon as possible. And also, at least he didn't show them having hard times trying to catch a damn car at high speed or fighting against random alien soldiers with a ki level probably below 4,000... In that sense, there was much more respect and coherence with them in the original manga.
@@miguelnewmexico8641 almost, but anyway, that has no relation with ki level. His sister also is semi immortal but is not a fighter. About his ki, by logic, his peak was during his 20s/30s/40s years old, having a level that was not more than Korin's one. Being an elder, when he trained for some years after being retired for a very long time, evidently he came close to his peak level again, although probably below that due to his old body, but that level was not high enough to fight even against the old Piccolo Daimaoh. Then, after his resurrection he retired again for more than 20 years. That's why he didn't show up against Raditz, Nappa, Vegeta nor the androids... He could not surprass his own peak anymore because of his age (that's why Kamisama didn't select him to protect the Earth against the saiyans). Anyway, even during his peak, he could have easily been k1lled by a saibaiman (a creature as strong as Raditz, that means, way more than Piccolo Daimaoh)... So, without having a training with Mr. Popo, Kamisama, Kaiosama nor any character (Goku, Piccolo, Krillin, Tien, etc.), nor Hyperbolic Chamber, nor room with increased gravity... He comes out from nothing almost at the level of Krillin and Tien (no matter if they were very nerfed)? Apparently he even surprassed Chiaotzu, who probably since his training with Kaiosama reached a level close to the Goku's one at his first fight against Vegeta... Bringing back Roshi was very incoherent, an horrible fanservice. It's fine if he gives advise from time to time, but not more than that, he shouldn't fight anymore (except maybe against semi common people/enemies - that means, with a ki of no more than 100 for example -). The other four humans are the ones who must fight against enemies at Zaarbon or Dodoria's level (and not having difficulties against random soldiers at Raditz or Nappa power level), or even stronger than that if you make humans train in the Hyperbolic Chamber for example...
im fairly sure beerus meant GOHAN is the straight laced one, and that destruction dosnt fit him. for broly, he just states he is only a super sayian so far
Life's kind of funny in some ways. Many of us fans have wanted Gohan to actually train again and get stronger, and rival the strongest in the universe, while Toriyama always made him prioritise his family/work. And yet the final chapter he likely worked on was him giving so many fans what we've wanted for so long. Perhaps it was intentional: some rumors suggest that Toriyama knew he was running out of time, perhaps he decided to give what many of us wanted as a final gift...
The Pan joke was a probleme of translation, since in Japanese her name mean bread, so Goku wondering why Gohan wanted to pick up bread at a school made sence.
@@Naruku2121it would've helped but still been confusing as goku would be thinking of bread in two different languages in dialogue besides japanese or spanish

If this is the last chapter we ever get, it's a beautiful ending. A good way to close the book. Is it perfect? No, but Dragon Ball in itself isn't perfect and that's part of what makes it so special. A wise man once said "Loving something means accepting it's flaws and acknowledging them, but still having that thing be your favorite thing ever." and I think that encapsulates the feelings a lot of us have towards Dragon Ball.
@@ihavenonamestilldonthaveon8970ye idk how anyone can be fully satisfied with black frieza out there and the entire rest of the multiverse only showing up in two (2) arcs and that's it
3:50 my interpretation was that beerus meant that gohan was too straight laced where as I believe broly would be more ok with “destroying” things for the overall good/balance of the universe as a G.O.D. He has the innocence of goku but the seriousness of vegeta
You would think of all people Masako would get the Pan joke. It wasnt bad, just mistranslated. It was the implication Piccolo and Gohan were going to pickup Bread. Beast not being divine was fairly obvious, I dont get how that is a disappointment. Gohan may just be a hybrid mutant in comparison to Broly being a Saiyan Mutant. Gohan is who Whis and Beerus were referring to as too straightlaced for the G.O.D. Title, Not Broly who is nice and softspoken, but not Straightlaced.
I like how the last couple chapters were built around establishing what how each Saiyan (besides Vegeta) fights and what they bring to the table. Gohan emphasizes raw power. Goku emphasizes technique and agility. Goten / Trunks emphasizes duo/team antics with more fun, flashy moments. Broly is Gohan on roids, for extreme situations. Vegeta doesn't fight, but we already know his thing now his manipulating/using his enemies' momentum and power. Thinking of it in terms of what it may have been conceived of before Toriyama's death, I think the intention was to conclude Super Hero by sitting down and set a standard for what each Saiyan character will bring to a plot/fighting scenes going forward. It's like, if they ever want to go "okay, Goten and Trunks have a fight scene with X bad guy, what does that look like?" these chapters give a template.
lol so Goten/Trunks brings comedic relief to fights??? That’s not new, they’re basically the same as they’ve always been since the Buu saga with zero growth in anything. they’re basically nothing the comedic relief characters
The entire time I was reading the chapter, I was fearful that it would be the final chapter. Then I got to the final page and breathed a huge sigh of relief when I saw the words "to be continued."
I got the impression that Whis and Beerus were talking about Gohan when they mentioned a possible new GoD since Beerus mentioned that destruction magic isnt suited for someone so straitlaced (since Gohan is a boyscout and Broly is some half feral Tarzan boy)
I think the "straight-laced" comment was referring to Gohan, not Broly. It doesn't make sense to call the berserker wild boy Broly "straight-laced." Gohan, however, is very different from his father. I think in Beerus' eyes, the job of destruction wouldn't work for Gohan because he is too civilized.

The Pan joke apparently kinda works in Japanese, Goku thought Piccolo was saying they needed to get some bread. Still not great lol But I found Piccolo punishing Goku to be hilarious & more love for Piccolo as a member of the Son family is great.
The chapter in general was fun especially Goku and Pan race, but the biggest impact for me was Piccolo saying goodbye considering he was Toriyama-sensei fav character.
For all my personal problems with Dragon Ball, and especially its US fan base, I have very high respect for Toriama. I hope those who worked under him and knew him personally, get the time they need to process all this. And wherever the manga, and all it's connected media, I AM excited to see where it goes, and will be giving it all a fair chance. Maybe a Xenoverse 3 or Fusions 2?!
Anyone familiar with the Dragon Ball Online timeline has been noticing that many things from that story have been seen in the official things such as Gohan publishing studies about Ki in Super Hero, the return of Red Ribbon, Tien starting a school and even the movie star from that awful DB Super episode. If they ever decide moving forward having those crucial points can help with any scripts.
Funny enough a reasonable scenario I don’t hear people bring up is the super manga being just canceled and declared non canon. I hear people constantly bring up that Toyotaro is now holding the franchise in his hands…however he’s not. Sure he’s Toriyama’s protege but he holds no ownership of dragon ball in the slightest, guy is just an artist. The manga is owned by shueisha and they’ll probably lose the rights after ownership disputes and go back to Toei under Toriyama’s son, meaning the manga is axed under licensing. Toei already doesn’t use any manga content for anything so I doubt they’ll have a problem axeing it. People are trying to think about what the future of dragon ball is without seeing what’s going on outside of it.
I hope toyotaro will get to continue the manga but I do think that we have seen the end of new content for dragon ball for a good long while. It’s been a good run, folks! I’m glad super could (seemingly) end with such a nice chapter
Masako, hear me out... what if it was the new farmaceutical company of Carmine that creates the heart medicine in the future in this timeline? I think it's already past the time of future trunks when the drug was created but it would be nice final nod to the Cell saga related to that arc. Or maybe they create a medicine that it's vital on a future arc. That's probably too much to expect from Toyotarou though...
Toyotaro needs a break so that he could properly grieve and recover from his sensei Toriyama’s death, I feel so bad for Toyotaro that he had to go through the pain of losing his master Toriyama, I pray for Toyotaro to recover from this terrible tragedy because life can be so unfair
This chapter made me emotional especially with Goku telling Gohan that the Earth is in good hands after he is gone it feels like direct parallel to Toriyama choosing Toyotaro as his successor to continue Dragonball. It made me angry that Goku forgot who Pan was this is just bad writing from Toyotaro. It dosent make sense for Goku to forget who Pan is since Goku and Pan have such a great relationship at the End of Z!
I was pretty peev’ed seeing Goku forgetting Pan after initially reading it. However, and I’m sure this wasn’t planned out this way in the slightest, but it kind of came off as a joke on how the late-great Toriyama Sensei would forget pretty crucial plot points, transformations and entire characters in his own stories altogether! Again, doubt that’s what it actually was meant to be interpreted as such. TY Masako, and RIP the literal GOAT of manga as we know it.
Uh... Masako... Whis and Beerus weren't talking about Broly when they were looking to a possible new candidate for Lord of Destruction. They were talking about Gohan. I wouldn't say Broly is "straight laced" as much as he is remorseful and fearful of his own actions.
one thing I want to see going forward is fights not for the sake of being stronger or defending a planet. but instead the old emotional and ideology ways. like, we all know why Goku and Vegeta's first fight was so impactful was the clashing of ideals, hard work vs natural talent, lower class vs high class, the commoner vs royalty. I wanna see that kind of thing come back. like imagine beerus gets broly to fight Vegeta for who will be the next god of destruction and throughout the fight we see broly without hestiation destroy everything, but vegeta will protect what reminds him of his family or what's important to him during their fight, vegeta could win the fight, but Beerus sees that Broly is more fitting of a god of destruction because he destroys without discrimination. Vegeta although powerful isn't fit because there will be a day where he may have to destroy what's important to him and he wouldn't do it, going against the rules of the Gods. Broly doesn't have that issue due to his lack of bonds (except Cheelai and Lemmo) it's just an idea I came up with and there are tons of different fights that could explain what I'm suggesting better. but I wanna see stuff like this again.
it's a good idea in theory but for something like the one you suggested idk why vegeta would agree in the first place since he doesn't want to be a god
The Pan thing is just a mistranslated joke. Pan = bread in Japanese. They should have changed the joke so that Goku thinks they are talking about a Frying Pan rather than forgetting his granddaughter exists.
Huh? Wasn’t Gohan the one they were discussing about the position of God of Destruction? You said Broly lol Beerus was talking about Gohan’s control, then Whis asked if that meant he was suitable for GoD, and Beerus said no since he’s too straight laced. The context follows them talking about Gohan and “straight-laced” makes more sense to be describing Gohan

the whole goku forgetting pan joke doesn't bother me too much, personally i look at it like he still cares a whole lot about his family, he's just got a healthy serving of cranial trauma messing with the short-term to long-term memory transfer
I think that joke was probably a mistranslation. "Pan" in Japanese means bread, so he may have just been confused because he thought that's what they were talking about. Japanese jokes don't always translate to English well, and mistranslations or changes because of the language barrier have been a thing before too
Whis and beerus were talking about Gohan being too straight laced for God of destruction not broly beerus says right before that gohan has a better handle of his power that's when Whis mentions Gohan as a candidate that's what I took from it
favorite chapter of the super manga! :3 really happy & satisfied we saw gohan with broly(really want to see him meet kale even more/gohan study his wrathful form with the development he's gotten.)/cheelai's cute bored expressions, vegeta pulling a dragon shortz demanding to join the fight(and the last we see of it being goku sonic screaming at them miffed.)with goten/trunks diving in(esp. just casually un-fusing/not believing carmine.),carmine(him working together with hedo would be interesting/hope they just ignore that dumb attempt to explain the animal people from kakarot though very much hope android 21 gets a saga) and no 15 legit folding up after all the stuff they dealt with. the pan joke is a translation error likely goku mistaking for the bread that viz screwed up sadly, goku not fighting to beat but just see his son's growth like how he will with uub later on & pan/piccolo being the one(toriyama's favorite character.:3) to say goodbye was a very adorably touching heartwarming end. for being a finale would say toyataro did a good job with the end and deserves to take a rest to cherish his mentor and the legacy he's added to & has potential to weave it's legacy as i completely support him with how much passionate love he's shown for the series with guidance.(for a continuation would like the end of z reimagined just with pan going with goku with that sweet moment with them/just have uub be trained to be g.o.d & go into online's events.:3)

I think that in the wake of the superhero saga that it should be time for an android family reunion and that android can finally meet his family and that we can finally meet 17’s family
I hope Toyotaro doesn't try to do what he thinks Toriyama would have done things but rather try to figure out what he can bring to Dragon Ball. If he tries to be the second Toriyama it's not going to end well.
*Regardless of what happens with Toyotarou, I got to admit... this was a good chapter.* But they can't really end just yet. Not with some lose ends that need to be tied up. I don't know about the edginess Toyotarou would bring though 🤔
I love Gohan but I really don't enjoy the "unearned" power ups that Super keeps giving out but I will accept it since it was something Toriyama did. @@falconeshield Buu is stupid though. Plus his whole character arc was him learning to NOT destroy things, so what would be the point of giving him a job entirely about blowing people up?

New era is one I'm not sure about, but am willing to embrace
This chapter felt like a celebration of life and all the wonderful moments, both big and small. Enjoying your connections with people in the moment. I thought it was wonderful and got emotional at the end as i was lettering it.
Roshi is practically immortal.
Toyotaro would be more likely to do side story stuff over Toriyama writing them in. He never gave them much respect after the cell saga
This new era Will be amazing 🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉
The Pan joke was a probleme of translation, since in Japanese her name mean bread, so Goku wondering why Gohan wanted to pick up bread at a school made sence.
Yeah, as pan is also Spanish for bread as well.
They really should of expanded the joke without loosing the context, like "Pan? We're going to pick up bread?"
@@Naruku2121it would've helped but still been confusing as goku would be thinking of bread in two different languages in dialogue besides japanese or spanish
@@Naruku2121In English, it'd be easier to go with a frying pan pun.
Pan? Are we frying something?
@@DanielMWJ Personally I'm partial to the Frying Pan joke my self, but I know some people get bent out of shape if it's not a 1-1 translation in everything.
They are n o t stopping, there's no way
@@ihavenonamestilldonthaveon8970ye idk how anyone can be fully satisfied with black frieza out there and the entire rest of the multiverse only showing up in two (2) arcs and that's it
also it ended with to be continued
Am I the only one finding it wholesome how the gang is just doing friendly sparring matches with each other.
That moment with Pan and Goku was so cute! Seems like she was glad to have someone as battlehappy as her
I like how the last couple chapters were built around establishing what how each Saiyan (besides Vegeta) fights and what they bring to the table.
Good luck, Toyotaro. You have big shoes to fill, but we're rooting for you!
The entire time I was reading the chapter, I was fearful that it would be the final chapter. Then I got to the final page and breathed a huge sigh of relief when I saw the words "to be continued."
Masako, I love these types of videos and the way you go about making them very much. I appreciate the care that you put into them.
I got the impression that Whis and Beerus were talking about Gohan when they mentioned a possible new GoD since Beerus mentioned that destruction magic isnt suited for someone so straitlaced (since Gohan is a boyscout and Broly is some half feral Tarzan boy)
Just imagine pumping Gohan full of God Ki though.
Beautifully said man😪
So @Masakox, how do you know there are two Sagas after Super Hero and what are they?
Honestly, im excited to see where this leads to in the end of z Era of this
I think the "straight-laced" comment was referring to Gohan, not Broly. It doesn't make sense to call the berserker wild boy Broly "straight-laced." Gohan, however, is very different from his father. I think in Beerus' eyes, the job of destruction wouldn't work for Gohan because he is too civilized.
idk how anyone could see it as being anything else lol, tbh broly would be a decent fit for a god of destruction
I was really hoping that Whis would have said “ohh, this power, it reminds me of the Kai’s”
that would've been cool, i hope that beast is a result of ultimate + super saiyan levels of rage
@@dankerbellwell its gohan full potential
So its super sayian power sayian root power (oozaru) human potential and ox king ancestry drawn out to the max through rage and controlled like a combustion engine
I absolutely love the moment at the end with Pan and Goku
Love your Review videos Masako! ❤❤❤❤❤
I hope toyotaro will get to continue the manga but I do think that we have seen the end of new content for dragon ball for a good long while. It’s been a good run, folks! I’m glad super could (seemingly) end with such a nice chapter
It could swing out of the Goku and vegeta show. That be nice
I hope it doesn't end here. Not when we just barely got it back. also Frieza Black
Toriyama passing the torch to Toyotaro everyone will be behind you Toyotaro we will all give you spirit energy 🙌🏻
To me personally, this and daima are the end of dragon ball. I’ll forever appreciate this journey and rewatch it.
Uh... Masako... Whis and Beerus weren't talking about Broly when they were looking to a possible new candidate for Lord of Destruction. They were talking about Gohan.
I wouldn't say Broly is "straight laced" as much as he is remorseful and fearful of his own actions.
way gohan hates fighting and killign so he wont fit beign a desotyer you know this
@@ssjgotenks2009 Exactly. And that's the conclusion Beerus came to as well.
one thing I want to see going forward is fights not for the sake of being stronger or defending a planet. but instead the old emotional and ideology ways.
like, we all know why Goku and Vegeta's first fight was so impactful was the clashing of ideals, hard work vs natural talent, lower class vs high class, the commoner vs royalty.
Broly doesn't have that issue due to his lack of bonds (except Cheelai and Lemmo)
it's just an idea I came up with and there are tons of different fights that could explain what I'm suggesting better.
but I wanna see stuff like this again.
it's a good idea in theory but for something like the one you suggested idk why vegeta would agree in the first place since he doesn't want to be a god
@dankerbell it was just an example.
A bad one yes but it got the idea across I hope
The Pan thing is just a mistranslated joke. Pan = bread in Japanese. They should have changed the joke so that Goku thinks they are talking about a Frying Pan rather than forgetting his granddaughter exists.
i thought the god of destruction conversation was referring to gohan and them saying he was too much of a by the books kid
I think one of the best way that Toyotaro can improuve as writer with DB is having a good or the same Editor that Toriyama had in the past, now that Toriyama is not with us
I believe that this chapter is gonna hold a special place in the hearts of all Dragonball fans.
But here’s the thing black friza is still out there in the comics. where will that story go to?
I think i was of the few people who was actually excited about Daima ever since it was announced, i really don't care about Moro and Granolah arc getting animated and i was glad they were going in another direction
the whole goku forgetting pan joke doesn't bother me too much, personally
i look at it like he still cares a whole lot about his family, he's just got a healthy serving of cranial trauma messing with the short-term to long-term memory transfer
I think that joke was probably a mistranslation. "Pan" in Japanese means bread, so he may have just been confused because he thought that's what they were talking about. Japanese jokes don't always translate to English well, and mistranslations or changes because of the language barrier have been a thing before too
@@haidernaveed5946 that explains a lot, actually. i wish they translated the joke better; goku mistaking stuff for food is such a classic DB gag.
Most importantly what happened to black Frieza?, who defeated him? Or is it not confirmed
The one thing I hope is a new air time for DB ("Super 2" to be precise) in Japan, that took a massive toll on Super. One can dream.
Whis and beerus were talking about Gohan being too straight laced for God of destruction not broly beerus says right before that gohan has a better handle of his power that's when Whis mentions Gohan as a candidate that's what I took from it
favorite chapter of the super manga! :3
really happy & satisfied we saw gohan with broly(really want to see him meet kale even more/gohan study his wrathful form with the development he's gotten.)/cheelai's cute bored expressions, vegeta pulling a dragon shortz demanding to join the fight(and the last we see of it being goku sonic screaming at them miffed.)with goten/trunks diving in(esp. just casually un-fusing/not believing carmine.),carmine(him working together with hedo would be interesting/hope they just ignore that dumb attempt to explain the animal people from kakarot though very much hope android 21 gets a saga) and no 15 legit folding up after all the stuff they dealt with.
the pan joke is a translation error likely goku mistaking for the bread that viz screwed up sadly, goku not fighting to beat but just see his son's growth like how he will with uub later on & pan/piccolo being the one(toriyama's favorite character.:3) to say goodbye was a very adorably touching heartwarming end.
for being a finale would say toyataro did a good job with the end and deserves to take a rest to cherish his mentor and the legacy he's added to & has potential to weave it's legacy as i completely support him with how much passionate love he's shown for the series with guidance.(for a continuation would like the end of z reimagined just with pan going with goku with that sweet moment with them/just have uub be trained to be g.o.d & go into online's events.:3)
Toyataro had some big shoes to fill after Toriyama is gone and finish his works.
ye well that's why he's taking a break, he's probably still gonna get a ton of stick from the fandom regardless of what happens unfortunately
I wonder how Toyotaro will handle the franchise now without having to check in. I kind of feel like Super has needed more reigns
Personally I thought Beerus was talking about Gohan being straightlaced, which Gohan is.
Whis was certainly referring to Gohan for the God of Destruction role. Not Broly
Ngl i just finished the chapter before watching this and legit almost shead a tear reading the ending portion, as the end of gt popped into my head. 🙃
Could you make a video revisiting Color Theory? I was rewatching Dragon Ball recently and got to wondering if Color Theory could apply to the Red Ribbon Army too, causes they have arcs around different commanders for all the same hair colors Goku gets as a Sayen for the most part.
I hope he does his own thing and has fun, he isn’t Toriyama and he shouldn’t try to be, he’s got skill and I think he can do it.
I'm hoping Goku Jr becomes a thing.
Please don't. I hope he ceases to exist
Nice man
Ah, I would've loved to see Pan hang out with Uncle Goten.
Of course Piccolo would be a godfather. He fused with Kami, after all

I'd love to see a sandland video
Ultra Instinct Goku vs Ultra Ego Vegeta vs Super Ego Gohan. How cerebral! 😁
*Regardless of what happens with Toyotarou, I got to admit... this was a good chapter.* But they can't really end just yet. Not with some lose ends that need to be tied up. I don't know about the edginess Toyotarou would bring though 🤔
I like toyotaros stuff. I know I’m in a minority but I’ve enjoyed it.
4:23 Yes! Can we please finally get Gohan vs Vegeta?!?
Your thoughts toward the end of the video about grieving loss and honoring memories... thank you
I watched the first 7 episodes of Sand Land on Hulu. Really great so far.
I love Gohan but I really don't enjoy the "unearned" power ups that Super keeps giving out but I will accept it since it was something Toriyama did. However, I will not be surprised anymore, training is now a thing of the past. I'll wait to see who else will get a random unearned power that will turn the tables of a dire situation. No emergency is an emergency anymore.
