You made every Angie fan extremely proud and happy with that praise for her 🥰, especially coming from a musician, it means a lot to us 🙏! Considering her age here she did an awesome job and I'm glad you respect her abilities as a child. Some other youtubers are really mean and criticized her for not having the vocals, volume and stamina of Whitney, which is probably true, but come on, she's a child here, her vocals are still developing, but still, this performance wasn't bad, she poured all her emotions into this song, why would anyone discourage this girl from singing this song when she obviously had fun singing it? Those youtubers I'm talking about went as far as to say that this song wasn't for her, which is just a horrible thing to say to a child. I mean criticism on a technical level is fine, but crushing a child's dreams by telling it to stay away from this or that artist/song is probably the worst thing you could say to a child. As a consequence the child might even give up on the instrument after hearing such a comment. I think we are all aware that Angelina still sounds like a child in all of her covers, she is a child after all, but she's always so happy and passionate about singing, you can feel it, you can see it, and that's probably the most important thing when it comes to music. Sorry for the rant and for the change of topic, but I'm upset when I'm reminded of that other reaction to this performance.
I have read rare comments to the contrary. We remember that here Angelina is only 13 years old and when she sings "hanged" she maintains total control of the song, the timing and the harmony. I would like to know how many professional singers today would be able to do what Angelina did here, which is like climbing Everest without oxygen tanks.
She’s just such a great voice and raw talent for such a young age. She won on America’s got talent the first time at 7 years old. She’ll be someone that will have so many hit songs of her own. I think she did a great job on a song that takes a great voice and heart and soul to pull off.

Angelina's phrasing is one of her strong points that sets her apart from ordinary singers. I would guess it is something she learned from some of the greatest jazz artists, but also seems to come naturally to her. Frank Sinatra was a master of phrasing. Not everyone can be as unique as Angelina. How boring it would be if everybody sang songs the same way as every other singer.

Some fans complained so she went with the side view then dropped it all together. She wants to look through the camera to her fans while singing.
At 13 years old, this young girl has the heart of a lion to have the guts to take on this song. Whitney is an icon and challenging her like this could only go two ways. She performed this very very well. It challenged the lungs, vocal cords and training of this young girl. By this time though she had performed Etta, Ella, Dinah, Frank, Amy and many other greats. She sing iconic songs by iconic singers and does it with unearthly calm.

Her mouth was rarely visible, leading to suspicion that she was lip-syncing, especially from Angelina novices whose initial reaction was frequently disbelief. I was one of those Angelina fans listening to her performances up to this point in her soulful / jazzy voice / ability, wondering if she had the ability to do a "big" song, (yes she was still a child). She had moments in some her songs (I put a spell on you, Feeling good, I'd rather go blind.....), where she would have some big moments experimenting and finding her range. I know people were commenting she was destined to sing only jazzy ballads and lounge type music, that she didn't have any power to do the "big" songs. I think she saw those and wondered what she could do to expand her talent and show the naysayers what she could do. She saw this song, and we have a saying here in the states (if your an adult) and said "here.....hold my beer), then performed this.....AT 13!!!!! I was ecstatic when I heard this, realizing there wasn't a direction she couldn't go and knock it out of the park. love listening to reactors that know music and are able to pick up on the nuances that Angelina puts in her masterclass performances.
I didn't particularly care for this song when Whitney did it. And, I've never heard WH hit those high notes in a live performance. I still don't like the song much but, when Angelina sings it like that I can still be amazed. That she would even try to hit those notes and belt and just totally ignore our expectations by going so far beyond them was probably the reason for that little smile at the end.

For me Angelina is not about belting and getting the high notes. I have followed Angelina for 7,5 years and have heard every song multiple times. For me, she is conveying feeling and emotions of a song. She sings to my heart, every time. In my opinion, she is on her way of becoming one of the best vokalist - ever. I understand that others feel and get something else out of her singing. Some even don't like her and thinks she exagerate the different tecniques. I think she is playing around and training her voice to see what she can do with it. Alot of us angels would love to see her going back to jazz and the oldies. One of my favourites are Smile by Charlie Chaplin. When she sings that I'm totally mesmerized. ❤ Love your reactions. Angelina is terrific. Another artist from Norway you should check out is "Aurora" I would love for you to react to "Through the eyes of a child" live at Nidarosdomen or the music video for "Runaway". She and Angelina are Norway's finest singers
Not bad for 12 years old! It is a great performance although I don't think it is her best. Angelina excels more in jazz and soul although she can sing anything.
A couple of months after this home recording she worked with David Foster on this song for a benefit concert and was really impressed enough to tell the Beach Boys to watch out for her.
I am curious about this. I have seen her strum and pick a little, so she definitely knows some chords. Plus, with her ear and musicality, I am sure she can pretty much figure out to accompany herself on a lot of instruments, and it will sound good. Heck, she is GREAT acapella, and can just build from there. But from what I have seen, I am a little doubtful that she would say that she PLAYS the guitar. Mind you, for a long time I thought this about her piano skills too, but recent snippets show that she has improved A LOT, to the point I am sure she could play piano pieces that would be enjoyable to listen to. She definitely can do a great job accompanying herself, doing bass lines and chords independently while singing just as beautifully as always. I hope you understand that I am not putting her down at all. My point is that when you are that much of a musician (Angelina is both gifted and hard working), you can figure your way around a lot of instruments and most people will think you play them quite well. Obviously she has rehearsed on the piano lately. I’d be delighted if she gets equally good on the guitar.
I believe this was filmed in profile so you can actually see her sing. Otherwise, she is effectively hidden behind the pop filter. I heard she got some complaints after dropping her cover of "Born to Die" (filmed straight-on, with a pop filter). Some who saw it (and didn't know her) couldn't believe she really sang it (saying things like "no 12 can sound that good" and therefore "she must be lip-synching").
Tasty performance.. she's done some videos from straight on and that filter obscured the lower half of her face, couldn't see her mouth at all. It made me think the video was a fake.

Thank you for your reaction. IMO this is the most underrated performance by Angelina. I watched 30 plus women singers cover this song after been dared by a reactor to find a better cover. Not as good as Angelina. I am a Whitney fan and listen to a life performance of her sang this song. I was a bit disappointed with it because it was not so good as he performance in the movie and for me not so good as Angelina's. After said all this then one can mention the fact that Angelina was in this video only 12 or 13. What more is there to say.
She strained, but still held it. There is a mashup with her and Christina Aguilera, both at the age of 12. Angie clearly kills the mashup. You want soul, " What a difference a day makes ". As far as the camera, her version of Lana Del Rey's Born to Die, she is directly behind the spit guard, to the point where you can't see the bottom of her face. This lead people to believe it wasn't her singing.

The thing about music, acting, fine cuisine, every has an opinion. I can't do any of these, so I don't feel it right about judging whether it is good or not. I can only state that I like something or not. I like this song and like 99.75% of her songs. Considering her age, she is a miracle as far as singing is concerned.
A few critical professional voice coaches have pointed out that Angelina struggled to get the highest notes from this otherwise perfect performance, in a key higher than what Whitney ever used live, and that Angelina lost some control towards the end of this exhausting song. I guess they had to find something. Like the IRS auditors. It sounded great to my largely untrained and old ears. Our Angie made a wonderful cover of Born to Die ( th-cam.com/video/DNU-HcLuO_I/w-d-xo.html ) but unfortunately had her own microphone with a very large pop filter on it between her and the camera. The performance was so good, that several reactors refused to believe that this little girl could be doing it, because they couldn't see her mouth. After that, she usually used the 45-degree version, as she did here so that she could better convey the emotion of the song. Interestingly, the mike she was using in Born to Die was the Neumann TLM-102, which had been a 12th birthday gift. She did not know that it contained a built-in pop filter!
Yeah, man -- I agree about the song choice bringing down an audience. If AJ had done a (shorter -- cause it has to be) version of this for AGT Champions, she would have walked away with the contest hands down. But for whatever reason she chose Yellow Brick Road, which was great, but too much like Bohemian Rhapsody (both written and performed by white guys in the '70s).
I’am Still Holding Out For You “ is not a cover. It was a demo for the author and she was the first and only one to sing it into existence until sung and released by “Baby Fuzz” two or so years later. Essentially the release was a cover of Angelina.

Thank you for your reaction. IMO this is the most underrated performance by Angelina. I watched 30 plus women singers cover this song after been dared by a reactor to find a better cover. Not as good as Angelina. I am a Whitney fan and listen to a life performance of her sang this song. I was a bit disappointed with it because it was not so good as he performance in the movie and for me not so good as Angelina's. After said all this then one can mention the fact that Angelina was in this video only 12 or 13. What more is there to say.
I think Angelina fans dont underrate it. I believe it's the 3rd most viewed performance after Bohemian Rhapsody and Fly Me to the Moon.

She strained, but still held it. There is a mashup with her and Christina Aguilera, both at the age of 12. Angie clearly kills the mashup. You want soul, " What a difference a day makes ". As far as the camera, her version of Lana Del Rey's Born to Die, she is directly behind the spit guard, to the point where you can't see the bottom of her face. This lead people to believe it wasn't her singing.

The thing about music, acting, fine cuisine, every has an opinion. I can't do any of these, so I don't feel it right about judging whether it is good or not. I can only state that I like something or not. I like this song and like 99.75% of her songs. Considering her age, she is a miracle as far as singing is concerned.
A few critical professional voice coaches have pointed out that Angelina struggled to get the highest notes from this otherwise perfect performance, in a key higher than what Whitney ever used live, and that Angelina lost some control towards the end of this exhausting song. I guess they had to find something. Like the IRS auditors. It sounded great to my largely untrained and old ears.
Our Angie made a wonderful cover of Born to Die ( th-cam.com/video/DNU-HcLuO_I/w-d-xo.html ) but unfortunately had her own microphone with a very large pop filter on it between her and the camera. The performance was so good, that several reactors refused to believe that this little girl could be doing it, because they couldn't see her mouth. After that, she usually used the 45-degree version, as she did here so that she could better convey the emotion of the song. Interestingly, the mike she was using in Born to Die was the Neumann TLM-102, which had been a 12th birthday gift. She did not know that it contained a built-in pop filter!
Yeah, man -- I agree about the song choice bringing down an audience. If AJ had done a (shorter -- cause it has to be) version of this for AGT Champions, she would have walked away with the contest hands down. But for whatever reason she chose Yellow Brick Road, which was great, but too much like Bohemian Rhapsody (both written and performed by white guys in the '70s).

I’am Still Holding Out For You “ is not a cover. It was a demo for the author and she was the first and only one to sing it into existence until sung and released by “Baby Fuzz” two or so years later. Essentially the release was a cover of Angelina.
