Hello mate, I’m looking to buy my 2nd car I’m 20 years old and have a budget of £15k I want something more modern but with a nice amount of power to have some fun
I had a second hand 2010 BMW 330d coupe a good few years ago. Though it had just 245bhp, it's torque when accelerating from 40 to 60 was... _More than just lovely._ She'd lift up her skirt when asked and flew. I even heard that it even went down a duel carriageway at 1am at 145 mph on a section that had no other exits and no other cars were on the road. Just one lorry. Apparently. _I do wonder who was driving it?_. ;-))... The only thing I did to improve it was to get rid of the run flat tyres and put Michelins on. That improved both the handling and more importantly, the ride quality. I always carried a couple cans of sealant in the back with my obligatory tyre pump just in case. Sadly, due to ill health, I had to sell her. 8-((...
Or what about the 2016 V40 D4 polestar optimised 8 speed auto instead of the T5. It’s 0-60 is 6.8 seconds 55mpg 145 mph 400n of torque and £20 tax! I love mine. And under £10k
What cheap car would you recommend to fit 5 people and would be a taller car because I am 6 foot 2 and would have good milage and wouldn't have to repair often (not compulsory but would be better if 12k or less)
Cracking video. old guru I was sitting there grinding my teeth and going my guru is missing out a Skoda vRS but you didn't disappoint practical little pocket rocket only sad news the new one has got a centre screen that seems to be a lot of bother for a lot of people shame as always crack on my guru
My sincere apologies, but I don't see why anyone in the UK should buy sports or quick cars. With the strict driving rules, heavy fines and repercussions coupled with the laughable speed limits. It's not worth it.
I really enjoyed your video, it reminded me of some of the cars I have owned. I have owned three Golf R s and a Audi S 3 saloon. I prefered the Golf over the Audi and the Golf was much cheaper to have serviced. I have also owned a Polo GTI which I liked. I did have a Mini Cooper S but found the ride too hard. I have owned a couple of Mercedes SLK s but prefer cars with four wheel drive. I currently have a Mercedes A 45 , although my wife preferred the Golf R, but there are perhaps not too many good ones under £15,000. I do have a BMW I 4 M50 but use the Mercedes when I want to park in tight spaces and would use it for any long distances crasher than trying to top up the electric. I will buy your book from Amazon, please keep up the good work
Thanks Alan, I could almost do an episode just with you’re cars!! Yes a lot of the Golf R’s with suitable mileage on for the price are either Cat S or look like they’ve been drive through Halfords by someone wearing and ankle tag. Great cars but seemingly rare to find an older one that’s untouched. Love those A45s!

I love when you say "i'm not bang on about reliability' and then you start listing every single stuff that might go wrong. Legend!
😂😂😂
Thanks
You legend Gary, thanks mate

Nice. I guess it's all about finding that balance between performance , fun and insurance cost. What are you thinking of?
@@DefinitelyNotAGuru I was looking at 2017 golf GTI’s a while ago but the price has flown up now to get one with a decent mileage.
@@fergusbell6738 I actually prefer the drive of the Polo GTI so maybe check that out. 2.0 TFSI A3 is good fun too.
Well done mate 👍
Thanks buddy 👍
A Sunday morning treat 👍👍
👍👍
Actually a useful overview thanks
Glad you think so!
👍👍👍Thank you Jim.
Thanks Pete
Great video….just the tonic for rising new car prices and availability woes 👍
👍👍
Kia proceed gt any good? I like their look.
Very decent car.

Yes, those run flats are brutal
Great Jim👍✌😂

Just food for thought.. Great sleeper, Volvo S80 (V8 4.4), 6 sec to 60, 310bhp/324lb ? Fuel, tax etc aren't good but wth )
Great shout Steve

Nothing too exciting really in budget. Honda and Toyota both have options but not the most interesting to drive (CRV etc).
@@DefinitelyNotAGuru what about a 2021 chevy trailblazer- i know its more expensive but would that be any good?
@@OliMUFC we didn’t get them here, I’m afraid I know nothing about them
bro cars are so cheap anywhere but the netherlands holy shit
really?
@@DefinitelyNotAGuru all the cars mentioned add 50%

Cheers Jock, it’s a little beast
