That two much loved and sadly long gone performers are still remembered so fondly and respectfully in this show says so much about the lasting influence they had on so many. The late Victoria Woods' great biopic "Eric & Ernie" and the accompanying "making of", give a great insight as to why. Thanks for posting this clip.
Saw this at the Kings theatre in Glasow a few years ago...the whole audience was in fits...and whilst not quite the full magic...it was damn close...so glad me and my mates went!
Saw these in Blackpool a few years ago. Great act and damn close. Having met Eric a few times ( mum and dads first house was next door to his birthplace) I think he would deffo approve. Well done guys x
Can I give this show 10 billion stars out of 5. most fantastic live show I have ever seen. Morecome, (and I certainly hope more come to your show), and Wise, a wonderful tribute.. But please do a new one every year and record it for me please, How about the first act in bed, followed by breakfast and a cup of tea, Ern?... Tea Urn..gettit??
What's not to like. Comedy of recognition. When Eric said "can I have a word with you please" We laughed. Ernie went into Shirley Temple songs - we laughed. These two actors do it with love & "not now Arthur" "He won't sell many ice creams going at that speed" Boom boom. Gerroff y'fool
Can't quite understand the negative vibe. These guys are not trying to be replicas of Eric and Ernie; that would be impossible because E&E were unique. Think of these two as the E&E comedy equivalent tribute act in the vein of musical tribute bands. No band can be another Beatles or Pink Floyd, but if you allow your imagination a free rein, then they can just be the as close as you will get to the real thing.
i was looking earlier at the guy's from the play what i wrote and honestly while i understand why these guy's are only doing the old stuff all i could think was if the writing of the guy's behind the play what i wrote was used with these guy's performing along with a guest star each performance (like tom hiddleston a few week's ago in the play what i wrote) then it really would be like morecambe and wise were back. could it be on the bbc? probably not but it would be interesting.
Note to all the negative fools… You will never be criticised by people doing more than you. You will only be criticised by people who are weaker or doing less
This is a valiant effort but when you have actors playing comedians (such as Rod Steiger playing WC Fields) you lose that instinctive comic timing. This is a good attempt but I would rather watch the real thing on DVD than see a sort-of replica. The biggest thing missing, though, is the warmth and the love that truly existed between Eric and Ernie, who had known each other since the age of 13.
They're definitely microphones. It's actually a very common place to have them as most West End shows place them there. They usually hide them in the wig line or inside hats. They're very sensitive.
Bloody hell, this looks absolutely incredible! I sure hope it comes down to Australia!
Met these 2 gentlemen on a cruise ship 2 years ago. Really enjoyed there show

I thought, before watching it - hmmm, nobody can be as good as the real deal - but even though this isn't the full thing, they were really good!

Couldn’t give a toss about the negative comments here, I thought it was brilliant a really good evening.
Some people just love to slag things off ! its done usually by people who are talentless themselves and resent others that are
I watched it and I love it

Have to agree the mics are very off putting.

Nah. It’s like skimmed organic milk.

@@adriangibbs7967 Very odd place for a mic

Saw them a few years ago. They were ok but no more than that
