Jaco often considered himself a punk jazz bassist. And considering his ridiculously aggressive lines, I believe it to be a proper title, haha. It also is the song title.
¿ stupid question of the day ? is that Jaco playing the star spangled on bass ? it sounds like a 6 string, and "whoever" nailed it really tight . . . very nice indeed cool keyboard or sax background to it too

It's guitar bro. Not that you should say that is a stupid question, sometimes you can get confused
No, not weather report. He introduces the band at the middle. Hiram Bullock on guitar is great on these sessions from a small joint in New York City, maybe the 55 bar. There were 4 CDs released
@@maxabeles I heard it . . .maybe the sustain pedal got tangled or some other issue that often happens on a casual gig, which is what this was. Probably a live rehearsal when Jaco was putting together a new band. I know Mike, I played with him with Leibman, and he's a brilliant musician. That's why bootlegs often suck.
@@maxabeles It's all good, I wouldn't nit-pick a bootleg. I'm still trying to find a serious recording Jaco was on to nit-pick. He was a genius in the studio. I played some shows with Mike, Dave Leibman, and a great tenor player from my home town of Pittsburgh, Don Aliquo. I play bass BTW Stay safe and healthy
Jaco was just amazing. His talent was a gift upon the world.
Brilliant. You schooled bassist for a thousand years, Jaco. RIP Brother. *Mind Blown
Read Milkowski's book (again) and I keep getting drawn back to Jacoland. Always incredible. RIP.
Thank you Diego! This is one of my favorite recordings of all time.
Agree

Song bro.
Actually it had more to do with his attitude and aggressiveness playing style.

Don't think you know the "changes at the beginning"
@@davidpellow4877 he sustains the chord @ 0:05 too long, and wind player has to wait. Pretty obvious dawg
