bireli is a fantastic guitarist.he was twenty when he recorded and toured with jaco in 1986.he grew up in a gypsy community and was raiised playing gypsy jazz.and then he met jaco!jazz fusion came into his style with that and now is truly looked at as one the best jazz,gypsy jazz players in the world.ill be going to see him play in france next year.he even brings out a fretless bass here and there and starts groovin jaco style.you should check him out.

Teen Town has been an enigma for me. Kind of like Havana. Same kind of changes -descending 3rd's that he loved so much. Coltrane's "Giant Steps". WTF? But his stuff doesn't have the emotional connection that we love so much from simpler ll/V/l changes that made Western Civilization possible in many ways. It is Ulysses- ll leaving home. V- crisis. l returning to your home. But I like Teen Town. At first foreign and cold. But it sort of grows on me though I do not really like this. All you music fags out there. Answer me this and I will respect you. Jaco knows.
