I put that exact setup in both of my Mojave groms and it does go a lot faster especially on 3s but both motor and ESC get incredibly hot easily so I installed a new fan on the motor and the existing fan that was in between the motor and the 2 in 1 ESC/Receiver I laid it down on top of the ESC/receiver to keep that cool plus I vented out that body because there is literally no air getting in or out of that chassis.🤷🏻‍♂️👍💯🙂

The pinion gear is different. You need to get a different pinion gear. Different bore size 2mm needs to be

@yungliquid7053 i no its a 2mm the losi pinions are 2mm ...thats what i used

@@LTRenji i dont believe that tbh. Use the right pinion and u wont have that issue. Shaft diameter is 2mm/ 36mm length. Find a pinon that works. If people know this before then they wouldnt say that. Good thing i was able to catch it before i waste money. Already wasted money going hobby wing, when i should have went castle

@@LTRenji I had the same thing happen to me. 2mm, Losi pinion, all the correct hardware. Snapped the motor shaft during a pull down the street. We're far from the only ones - I think there is some inherent play on either the spur side or the motor side that's putting too much strain on the 2mm shaft. And remember, the stock brushed motor has a 2.3mm shaft, so we're putting far more power through a 15% thinner motor shaft.
I got a replacement motor from Hobbywing, but if this happens again I'm going for a motor with a 3.175mm shaft and getting a new motor mount plate. 2mm shafts work fine for lightweight 2wd vehicles (ie. a Mini-B/T) but a heavy 4wd truck or buggy with a heavy steel drivetrain seem to be putting too much force through these things.

Hey man watch out for that hobby wing motor. I bought one from the hobby shop and first drive in my Mojave Grom the shaft of the motor snapped clean off.

What happened to me was the pinion came loose while I was driving it so I took it apart to see if the shaft snapped and it didn’t and I put the pinion back on and revved it in reverse and hit the brakes and the pinion and the shaft went flying down the driveway

You're persistence for speed should at least include a very basic Gyro.

@@jakesrcaddiction I do recommend a receiver with a gyro if you can find one (I got a Flysky one and it was $20 including shipping from aliexpress.. arrived in less than a week). These brushless systems make it drive all over the place, the gyro made the speed actually usable.
