Yuko is easily my favorite of the many Japanese rock and metal singers I've heard. She has every tool in the toolbox. Also, fans of other bands always praise guitarists for being in sync with each other, and deservedly so in most cases, but Wagakki band always impresses me with how well Kurona and Wasabi go together.

She was my favorite too, but "Ado" has unfortunately brought her down to 2nd place.
Wagakki Band is still my favorite Japanese band.

    Another banger credited to Kurona.
"Shizumanai Taiyō" is written by "Kurona" and is on their 4th album "Otonoe" 2018.
The sad thing is that they are taking an indefinite hiatus from December 31 this year. Then we'll see if they come back (as promised). In the meantime, we get to enjoy the 7 studio albums and the many live videos on YT.
Beni Ninangawa announced yesterday that she will release an album soon. Hope it's from her and Machiya "Shirafu" project.

Yes, sad news indeed, but hopefully they'll come back recharged and better than ever! A great band!

This band has such an unusual sound, and the vocalist has a truly beautiful voice. The J-Rock stuff is usually not my cup of tea, but when I saw the Wagakki Band thumbnail, I went: Ooooh, this should be good! And it was 😁 I appreciate being intruduced to this band via your channel.

Now that you mention it, I (Itai) agree with what your saying, it is reminiscent of Indian music, but it still also reminds me of Middle Eastern music as well. It doesn't have to be just one thing... I grew up on ME music, so that's where it took me.
Thank you kindly for taking the time to view and engage. Much appreciated!
