When I got this mount, Northrend was basically dead. None of my friends wanted to help me, so I forced it to spawn all by myself by tracking down and killing rare elites all across Northrend and then checking the TLPD flight paths in between kills. Doing it entirely by myself, without camping, took a solid 13 hours with only potty breaks in between. I did indeed squee like a little girl when I finally spotted it. BAM!!! That one really felt like an achievement. The entire trick is to realize that one and only one rare elite ever spawns in all of NR at a time. Kill one, another pops up somewhere else.
One other note. Of course, the technique I used would have been a lot faster if my friends had camped other NR zones to kill rare elites that popped up there. Get enough friends to camp all of the elite spawn sites in all the zones in NR, and you could get this mount in no time flat.

Very interesting point you made about killing the other rare elites. Do you happen to know if its a set amount of time, for instance lets say each rare spawn kill reduces the time by 30 minutes, and theres roughly 15 minutes left until TLPD is due to spawn, would the rare spawn kill force the TLPD to spawn straight away?
Also what do you think of the spot where - it seems - three passes cross each other?
LOL, went to the bohrs breath 2 days ago, threw on windowed mode chucked on a video, and literally 5 mins in it spawned...and I got it!!! woooo

@StarBassPrincess Npcscan does a pro loud, and it can reconize a npc from a far distance which makes it easier cause if i reminds me right, you have to have your mouse on a rare to silverdragon to react.
@TheMrcookman one of the 2 spawns, either Vyragosa or TLPD. They also share a time spawner

@TheWORLDFalls you know this is a very rare mob and he will get killed like 5 mins after he spawns everytime, so its your choice. you can sit and have 25% chance to get him first or you can fly around for 2 days and hope you can get him.

Hi Syiler NPC scan overlay is outdated is there any addon that does the same?
i have Silverdragon, but i need to see the routes
at 3:06 in the vid, thats were i found him flying up from the frozen lake... was in storm peaks 3 mins that day...
Do i need to type an ip code in, as on my computer there are no exact spawn locations of the TLPD only the route it takes ??
Does anyone know how long it normally takes to find the Time Lost Proto Drake, for example would I be doing something wrong if I camped for a couple of days on one of the spawners without even seeing it?
HELP i downloaded npcscan and overlay, but i accedentally took off TLPD of my list , i tried deleting and redownloading it but hes not in my list , any suggestions?
how long do the dragons take to spawn? minutes hours?
because it wont alert you if it sees the mob again so you want to clear it if your npc scan sees either

Wtf every time i go to frosthold i see vyrgosa but when i go to his location where i saw him he just disapperas

i have an idea for a guide, what about glory of the hero... sure it would be a long guide but a good one, i my self am doing it right, now and many people that dont know how to do it, and want a proto drake, and most of the instances can be solo'd or 2 man'd
The mount guides are kool :) some weird and unusual companion guides would be kool too :) and omfg this time lost.... I've tried and I can see why they call it the "Time lost" drake..
Its called Time-lost proto drake to refer to the time lost you spent camping for it.

Hey Syi, Seeing you're a ret pally could you do a vid on your rotations, glyphs and other stuff like that, My pally is 85 but ms is prot, and I SUCK at ret. I get like 5k dps :(
so...sit at a spawn that "MIGHT" be there and completely miss it for anywhere else no matter what seems legit on getting it

I spotted This proto few weeks ago when i was lvling, but i was in combat and couldn't mount instantly...i went after for it and BAM!! its was dead on the ground and some Undead warrior was flying it ;(

how do u clear your cache in ur wow folder
Go to your World of Warcraft folder --> Cache --> WDB --> enGB or enUS --> delete creaturecache and it resets it when you start up wow again.

download the curse client you just search the addons and it downloads right to your game

i logged on at 12am flew arround the zone for 1 min then stoped and found it ha like 2 min of work and got it

I got this when i was gona quest, he attacked me, i saw it was a rare so i killed and he dropped mount, that i couldnt use at the time XD

Lol I found him dead 3 times in the past 2 weeks. It sucks balls, that's what I get for camping 2 months almost non stop.
