Great breakdown! Casper didn't sing in this EP. He helped out during the video shoots, but the vocals are all Peter, Tomi, Bobby and Marwan. Glad to have you back. Sorry for the technical difficulties.
As Leah said, Marwans still only 19. He hit B0 in Emperor's New Clothes at age 17. One wonders where he will be at age 25. Tomi first introduced sample drums in Mad World and I believe they had some in Bones as well. Not sure at the moment if there's some instruments in Hide and Seek.
I used to play a lot of ethnic drums and I'm pretty sure that whatever they used here was a darbuka (aka dumbec aka a whole bunch of other names that vary from region to region but these are the most common ones, the name usually derives from onomatopoeic terms for "hit" or from the two main type of sounds it can produce when you hit it with your right palm), it's basically this hourglass-shaped goblet drum with a membrane on one end. Maybe they had something else but mine sounds exactly like that so IDK. It's mostly played in Egypt and other North African and Middle-Eastern regions, so I hope it's not too racist to assume Marwan just has one and he was the one playing. I love the sound, it can be used in a lot of music, I love to play it along with other drums in Heroes of Might and Magic 3 combat music cover attempts or whatever.
Another great reaction Ethan! You interviewed Tomi...you should publicly review some of his solo work, like Lullaby of Woe or Sweet Dreams or Hellfire.

Bones had synth music. Dubstep.

Not racist in the least - thank you for the input and clarification!
@@EthanDrewMusic Fun fact: Aladdin was a little Chinese boy in the book. Now I'm not the only one cursed with knowledge :)

Marwan is 19. Such an amazing song and great analysis
Thank you 😊

It's not D it's C#1
I intended to say C#1, but what came out was D1 instead. Sometimes, my brain and mouth aren’t completely on the same page. 😂
