Why on earth did you chop up their video? Their original 4 min. video could have perhaps left out the first 25 seconds that showed how they chose the order of their participation. The rest was self explanatory. You kept interrupting saying "this is going to be good, I like this, this is hard to do, did you see what they did" etc. You kept backing up and interjecting so many times, it was totally confusing. You made it harder to appreciate their work. The artists explained it perfectly- no need for you to edit every few seconds. Suggest next time you play through the original and then go back and comment. That might help you edit your thoughts which do have merit. Just too much talking. You can smile and nod when you like a particular bit. No need to stop and express each thought. Save that for the end. In my opinion your additional 20+ minutes didn't really enhance Voiceplay's video. Because I watched the original, this was frustrating to me.
I, on my part, loved the extra explanations on why/what they did here, even if I've heard the original many times.
Not everything is self- explainatory, for a person without deeper musical training.
Content that suits one person might not suit all, but it's good there are content for all levels of musiclovers to be found. If it doesn't suit evey persons, just move ahead and find something for you.😊

One of the first exchanges I saw between Cesar and the others was when Geoff and Layne were trying to figure out TikTok and he was able to solve their issue.
He made a crack about providing tech support for the older gentlemen. Both Layne and Geoff heard, both pretended they didn’t.
Cesar has been gently sassing them since day one, and it’s adorable.
Love the loops - because it tells us so much about their personalities and their interactions with each other - as well as their insane talent! 🌹🕊
What you said about Geoff's leaps is true. His accuracy is top notch. And not just in the studio. He will sit there in video chats and just nail it - most often without thinking about it.
Also, my all time favorite leap is in Oogie Boogie. Everyone hears it, but fails to realize it. When he first starts singing (not just speak singing) on the "woah", a bunch of reactors/people noticed he went up two octaves. He did and didn't. He did not go up a fifteenth (two octaves). He went up a (minor) seventeenth 😮 (C#2 to E4).
That. Is. Insane. (and virtually unheard of)
You pointed out several things I hadn't noticed! I love their loops. I wish VP would show a touch more of the process, but they prefer to give us a big surprise at the end! Thank you for the analysis of each section. Keep up the good work!❤
Are you a patreon? They’ve shown a lot more of their process there. Geoff and Layne have both done deep dives on the programs they use, and Eli has done a deep dive on how they find the lighting to the music.
Excellent analysis Ethan, speaking for myself I appreciate the deep dives you do. For context this is the second loop Voiceplay has done, the first is Choose Your Fighter by Ava Max. Caesar came up with the idea for these back in August when they couldn’t film together because Geoff’s family got sick.
Love their loops!! It's such a great "BTS" treat to see how they put a song together. Their skills are on such an amazing level. So enjoyable!!
This isn’t actually how they do things - usually one person is arranging all the vocals.
@Gael4ce yes of course. But before I saw their loops, I just assumed they were all in a recording studio together...not the case!
@@daletimberlake8109 They’ve pulled off videos without even being in the same state - or country. For Hide and Seek, their guest lived in another state. Layne flew out with the green screen and recording equipment. For Enemy, their guest was somewhere in Asia. They never even met her in person since she had access to good video equipment she recorded her own audio and video parts and sent them the files.
I wonder now if any band or artists still all record in a studio together. 🤔
I’d bet not. If they record individually and someone messes up, it doesn’t ruin all the takes.
Just to be clear this is not how they usually arrange their music, typically one of them takes the lead on that the whole way through the song. Think of this more like a game they are playing just for fun. I love getting to see glimpses of their personalities coming out in the music.
Exactly - one takes the lead on it. Definitely does give a pretty accurate depiction of what arranging can look like, though!
I love these loops - they need to do another one very soon.
