I think the 4th gen Tacoma SR trim level has a tuned down engine and also has different suspension(I hate when they do that). However, the 3rd gen , as far as I know, the V6 was the same specs for all the trim levels. So for the 3rd gen, back in the day it made sense to get the SR model as you could get a 4x4 V6 for under 30k (At least in 2019). With the 4th gen the SR model does not make as much sense. I do like the 4th gen too, but for the price it might make more sense to get a full size truck other than Toyota, Sorry to say Toyota I think your plan could backfire. How does the saying go "Sell to the masses live with the richest, Sell to the rich live with the masses".
Okay........ You say the rpms climbed quicker in the 2024 than your truck, but your truck was faster "to you". Rpms are directly related to tire rotation via gear reduction. If his truck climbed in rpms quicker, the truck is quicker. That is unless the clutch is slipping or it is not getting traction at the wheels. I drove the same truck and i believe it may be a touch quicker than the 3rd gen. It does make boost in a decent fashion and gets through the rpms at a decent clip for a 4cyl truck. It is smaller, i will agree the 4th gen is smaller and with all the sport and above packages being independent suspension in the rear i am just not interested. I would love for toyota to produce a solid axle tacoma "front and back" with coil springs on all 4 corners. It will never happen as it does not appeal to city drivers that want the "car like feel". It is a truck damn it and BRING BACK THE WING VENTS, STICK FOR THE TRANSFER CASE AND MANUAL HUBS.... I'M A MAN, LET ME DO MAN SHIT!!!
I have not experienced the new TURD yet, but I have anticipated exactly what you are explaining.... The price alone has kept me from the lot..... I bought a 2016 early and thought it would be The Toyota of all Toyotas I have ever owned. Ohh yeah that's every model truck since 87... And I'm sorry you never had a new 89/93 best from Japan IMO. Not interested in this crap, infact it's hard to say still but I think I will go Jeep gladiator, diesel next... Used of course I know, but has what I have been dreaming from Toyota for years. Solid axel, manual trans, transfer, diesel, easy 35 tire upgrade, ect. I might have to fab a tundra body on to get past the ugly, but I won't be making payments on a 60k hybrid 4 banger 😂
I agree, I love my 2023 TRD Sport 4x4. If I wanted to drive a truck that feels like a car I will drive my wife’s 2022 Honda Ridgeline.
Great video as always ❤

Haha more so talking "feels" the truck is definitely faster than mine but when driving it, it really does not feel faster
Nope
You are not wrong. Totally agree with all
Great video by the way 👍 Don't give in, fight for the right!
