My mom was an avid fan and she loved calypso and annies song and she used to play music on the 8 track and so I kinda grew up with her music and I always have loved music so much . She passed in January 2019, and I am still devastated and lost without her influence and presence . I was her only daughter and I was born in 1970 . I remember when I would be like mom, put on the song with the bells ringing by that man lol I was about 6or 7 .thank you all for induring my rant lol. And ty mom for the love and the loyalty...

John Denver was such a special, spiritual country "boy" who got us all in touch with loving nature, especially mountains. Remember Rocky Mountain High ? And "Country Roads" ? Almost heaven, West Virginia, Blue Ridge Mountains, Shenandoah River, life is old there. Older than the seas. Younger than the mountains blowing like a breeze. Country roads take me home to the place I belong......... What a great poet ! I miss him, but at least we still have his beautiful songs as his legacy. Meryl Ann

fun fact: john denver wrote this song after an argument he had with his wife annie. he went out to go skiing and he was captivated by all that he was surrounded by. he saw deer and rabbits and a bright sun and peaceful gentle breeze and a still peaceful river and the mountains and birds in the sky. so later he went back home and wrote this song in 10 minutes
