You are my fave design content creator, you always post just what I'm looking for! Starting to look for internships and its so overwhelming what to apply for or look for!
I’m a UX Designer and Researcher. Alas someone came into the company above me and wanted to change my role to a Product Designer. I was utterly furious that someone felt they could do such a thing to me, but it showed a clear lack of understanding of my role, and it resulted in me being benched for months and then leaving the company. It’s why companies can’t muck about with peoples roles in this way.
🙋🏻♀️ Hi, new and confused designer entering the tech industry here 😂 thank you so much for explaining this! It definitely helps with the job hunting 🙏🏼
CharliMarie, you are just the freaking best. Thank you for making the world better with your awesomeness and sharing it with all of us. You are a huge help, THANK YOU.
thanks very informative. Product designer seems cool. i was interested in UX but product designer seems to cover a broader range of ability needed. I'll have to apply to an internship this fall for my last semester in collège so this video is super usefull
as a craft/product design major (like, i learnt how to make tangible real products like jewelry, furniture and home decor), im always mad at Product Designer job openings. i'd click on them thinking it'll be for designing home decor items or 3d modelling mass produced items, but alas they're for apps or tech/digital companies. can they change it into Digital Product Designer or something? hahaha
Hi Charli, Have you ever heard about the role of "*UX Engineer*" which is supposed to be a combination of UX Design and Front-end Development? It's complete chaos out there! And thanks for the amazing video 👍
As web designer since 2005 I do not like that segregation and that stupid complication of everything in our profession with the single goal to sound more sophisticated. I'll quote you about the UI designer role - that it's usually the UI designer to do the UX and product design... The only new thing, that could be separated as new kind of role is the UX design responsibilities which for me sounds a bit of a mixture between marketing and design responsibilities. If I as designer have to make a full investigation of the company's product users behavior, habits, what the users/clients wants, and etc. and etc...whats the part of the marketing specialist in relation to the product overall vision? It would be a lot better if just the designer work together with the marketing team with no constantly popping new and new role names...
This is great information!! What would I call myself If I offer all of these services plus more?? I am feeling quite overwhelmed with my job title hahah 😅

Charli, as a web designer, I find it confusing, do you need to know more programing languages like Java script and PHP other than html-css? I often see that in web design but I do not get if that role then would be a web developer? Thanks!!!
@@charlimarieTV It does not appear that they have it, but I did not realize that the design was their logo (never shopped there). They have several other cool ones as well. Thanks for the info.
Hoho, I'm working as a Marketing Designer. How to counter with a person that doesn't care about design and really like to change the template that already been decided into what they will?
Don’t counter them, this will only make peers dislike working with you. You need to convince stakeholders by showing them where the current solutions don’t work and why it’s important for it to be addressed.
thanks for your feedback! what specifically would you have wanted to see in an example though? do you mean a visual of the type of work produced by this designer? Or a job description?
Thank you. Your the 1st person that ever explain this. Thank you.
Glad it was helpful!
@@charlimarieTV hi, can i ask you a question about UI UX? Im a Graphic designer trying to transition

Perfect timing! Going through this process now... the number of emails I've had to send to clarify what the job involves

Thank you ☺️

So UI/UX is products, Web Design is Websites?

Do you think webflow and figma combination is better than wordpress or wix
Do u have any opinion for that !
Gr8 video tho
Depends on exactly what you’re building. But in general, yes!

How about me Charli! I'm a Frontend Designer ;)
That’s not one I’ve commonly seen! What does your title mean?
You must be a Frontend Developer, because Front-end is actually programming not design.
