Look up the dimensions of the box and minus a couple of inches from each measurement to get a rough idea of the interior dimensions. The measurements stated are measured from the outside and not the inside. Then look up the dimensions on carry ons. You would have to take into consideration of where the box slopes as that area may be to small. Then you have to take into consideration of how much weight your roof and rack system can hold and also take into consideration the weight of the box along with your cargo.
This is a nice looking box. But that sloping front end I would figure would limit the size of things you can place in there. I picked up a used Yakima Skybox 21 (not as pretty). It has more of a blunt slope thus giving it more height across the box I think. Could be wrong since i don't have both to compare.
You're 100% correct. I tested this today in store and the 21 worked much better for my needs. It's more consistent in the profile and height which gives you a more balanced ability of cargo. The only downside is that it literally looks like a beluga whale on your car lol.

I have a Telluride so almost identical to your Palisade. Not a biggie deal because it is what it is, you put a box on top of your vehicle to do the job of carrying extra crap, you're going to take a hit to your profile. I'm just thinking I should have gotten the xxl in the first place but the xl came in a special edition "matte" finish from my local rackattack and it looks pretty nice compared to the shine of the gloss.
What if the cross bars on our roof rack aren’t thick like yours? I have a gobi stealth rack and the cross bars aren’t like 1” diameter. Will that not work with the clamps?
Thanks for the video. Question, hows the longitivity on these? I just ordered the Motion XT L... i havent received it yet but i see people mentioning the finish scratching super easy and others saying stuff about rock chips and cracking... however, i havent found one video to show what these look like after some wear... all of the videos are of people installing them brand new...
Fundamentally they're good. A lot of the spare parts (like the spring arms) are easy to source. The shell will scratch but that's just the way it goes. The Force models have a dimpled matte texture if that matters to you. All shells on roof boxes are fundamentally 'weak' because they need to be large and light. I do know that, if it does crack, they are easy to patch on the inside. Just FYI, Thule's are generally overpriced by 20% at least so either find a used one or wait for a sale.
All boxes are going to get chips and scratches eventually from elements and handling. Unavoidable even if you are careful. Shiny finishes like this box will show smudges, nicks and scratches more.
Does the panoramic sunroof compromise any of the integrity of the roof when you have a lot of weight in it?

Are you sure this is the XXL on your vehicle? It doesn't look nearly as big as the 91" if so.

the box is universal fit and will close more to fit on smaller rails.

No. There’s a weight limit that you almost reach with just one.
