W for not underrating Kaido, he's a character that isn't shown explicitly but instead slowly built by pieces and requires thinking to understand him, yes he isn't as menacing or evil as Doflamingo but he never supposed to be that way, Kaido is a victim of war, a kid who never felt love, always was used as a weapon and respects only strength, a perfect antagonist to make Luffy stronger
Someone who gets itttttttt, Kaido is product of war and is a warrior through and through, I think he and big mom are the two most misunderstood characters in the entire series, especially Kaido. Kaido only cares for war and wants to die a warrior, that’s who he is so we’ll find out more about him when we see more great battles
@@KingKosuuwe only got that from his two page backstory, everything else about Kaidos character contradicts himself. He’s a true warrior but allies with Orochi? He’s a true warrior but needs to use underhand tactics in order to beat Oden? I agree that Kaido was **MEANT** to be built up to be a true warrior who is too strong for his own good so all he wants is defeat(death) and had this been built up more no one would have a problem with Kaido. For me Kaido should’ve always held a grudge against Orochi for getting in the way of his fight with Oden and only followed along due to some serious type of agreement/arrangement (occupation of Wano/weapons manufacturing) but we should’ve seen Kaido being more distraught with his strength and if Oda had given him a actual proper backstory he could’ve fleshed out these aspects. Also Big Mom is built up similar to Kaido too since Fishman but we still got a proper and one of the best backstories for her
Let's be honest it was the pacing the fucked up Post-Timeskip. Fisherman Island, Dressrosa, Wano even has pacing problems. I honestly wouldn't be surprised if someone came into Post mad confused and end up dropping the series. But the lore is a plus
The thing is, pre-timeskip has perfect pacing and then post it just went weird, I know wit will cook in due time but it’ll be yearsssss before we see it
I heavily disagree with your take on fishman island. It's a great arc for me. The storytelling, the emotions, the lore, the adventure, the theme, the message. For me all those aspect were very well done. Hody is an excellent vilain. I know that Hody isn't liked in the community because he is weak however he is a mis misunderstood character in the community. Hody Jones wasn't dangerous because of his strenght I mean Zoro or Jinbei in fishmen island could have beaten Hody. The problem with Hody was what he represented, this hatred toward the human, Hody was a victim of this cycle of hatred that Otohime tried to destroy. So just defeating Hody wouldn't have solved the issue on fishmen island. Anyway I think it's a great arc. I disagree with People who think it's mid when this arc is so well done. Punk Hazard was more like an introduction arc to the New world. And for an introduction arc it was pretty good. I don't think there were anything bad to the point to give 4/10 to punk Hazard. Like come on. Dressrosa goated arc. Sure the anime did ruin it. But in the manga when you reread the arc, it's so good and you explained it well. Zou is a transitional arc and it did his job. WCI for me is one of the Best arc of the serie. Easily in my top 5. Wano. Well it's strange but it's the arc I enjoyed the most so far in the entire manga and on many aspect Oda did deliver. Now even tho for me Wano is the Best arc of the manga. I do think he dropped the ball with some points. I think things could have been better. But it is what it is. Wano is a great arc, the Best for me. Also GG to you in understanding how great of an antagonist Kaido was to Luffy. A lot of People missed the point with Kaido. Egghead great arc. Enough said.
I wanted to give hody a chance because one piece actually did something interesting with the cycle of hatred until that narrative was washed down the drain when hody revealed he had no hate for humans, he’s just killing humans or fishman for the sake of power
@anime_world6684 That's the point. The human did nothing to him and yet because of the environment he grew up, he develop this hatred towards the humans. There is no reason to be racist. Racism is based on nothing.
Punk Hazard halted my initial read through of the manga fot a good couple months but I'm glad I powered through eventually becsuse Dressrosa (when you're reading the manga and not watching) was 👌🏻
Also you are so right about needing to read the arcs in one go, thats how I've done it since wano and don't regret anything. I just recently got to read egghead and it was great same for Wano but i can't imagine reading either weekly and not being frustrated lol

i agree more or less with what you said on both fishman island and punkhazard. i think that oda should have focused more on the effects/ influence that hody had in fishman island to make him stand out more and punk hazard was a whole nothing arc and should have been a lot shorter since the only things i can really think of that was notable in that arc was doflamingo, his henchmen that isnt caesar, aokiji, and smoker and his crew. something that i will say that i dont agree with you on is on your take on reading one piece weekly since i remember when i caught up to dressrosa in the manga and read that weekly i was having a blast. i will admit that dressrosa should haven been 30 chapters shorter and i also do remember discourse of people not liking how long that arc was when that was happening, but i enjoyed it (also i hella dropped the anime around the time it reach dressrosa cuz toei really ruined the pacing of the anime). i also really enjoyed egghead when that was happening weekly and was actually scared for a bit that it was going to be too good to the point where ill start hating the series but that never happened and i enjoyed everything that i read of egghead. even though it did drag a bit at some points at the end. i wont really comment too much on whole cake and wano since i would want to reread those arc again to have a fuller scope on what i really think about those arc. i did reread them but that was when i decided to read through one piece in its entirety, since i only read the manga when i caught up to the anime and remember reading it around the beginning of dressrosa. though i will say that i felt like the issues that i had with both whole cake and wano was an issue on what oda decided to focus on. i didnt have this so much on whole cake since it had a ton of what you said you liked about it to carry it, but both felt like they dragged for too long because of oda's insistence of focusing on either the straw hats just wondering around in the forest in whole cake, the escape from whole cake, and whatever the hell oda did when he decided to do what he did in the raid and act 2, i did though enjoy the oden flashback and gear 5th from wano. but that is enough yapping from me and your vid is good 👍
I have been there once and to say they lack basic comprehension skills is an understatement. They sound like they have never read the manga and the admin will remove your post if you dare praise the series. It's infested with haters
@@JohnCena-ex6zt Yeah i would say around 50% of the people there hate one piece just to hate while the other 50% actually critique the series, though i'm being generous saying 50/50.

One Piece Timeskip is masterclass. All the strawhats came back looking good and without having to get serious until Dressrosa.
Mhm🤔

@@KingKosuu Fair enough however objectively it's not even close to be a bad arc.
Anyone saying egghead is 6 is comparing it to best animanga arc ever ( it is like an 8 to 8.5)

Fishman Island to Dressrosa was rough in the anime. Naotoshi Shida the GOAT carried.

Dressrosa and Skypia are both great arcs ruined by toei. Its why I can never recommend the anime as both arcs are botched
