  • Fly fishing the legendary tuckasegee river for brooks, browns, and rainbows. Join us on this epic adventure as we explore the crystal clear, trout-filled waters of North Carolina's premiere fly fishing stream. We aim to complete the "Tuck Slam", while also seeking what we consider a "slab" trout. We hope you guys enjoy this video!

Graduated 88 from Franklin, HS. I have fished every inch of the Tuck, Highlands and Natahala rivers. Good to see my fishing grounds. 😊

Hey Gentlemen, I enjoyed the video. This is my first time watching your channel. The only thing I would recommend is to take off the wool gloves when handling the fish. The wool can strip off the fish's slime coating. Thanks for great content!

I was there last week, man, the water is low! Recently stocked though, and a lot of fish. Nice video!

There are so many trout in the Tuck

  • @whitebisonoutdoors

Was there last week, just posted our video in fact. Ended up with 11x trout that day. It definitely started out cold 🥶

Nice fish. Enjoyed watching. Which fly were you catching them on? The wooly which is not a nymph by the way or the rubber leg nymph?

  • @mikeetgen8987

responding from about 45 minutes away (guessing...) It looks like, when you switched to nymphing, you were using the white woolly bugger above the nymph? I assume in that gin-clear water you used that as an indicator, as it would remain visible even if it sank slightly? If so, your nymph must have been only slightly weighted?

Tuck is most heavily stocked trout stream in North Carolina. NCWRC stocks roughly 60,000 lbs. Brown, Brook and Rainbows in Jackson County, NC and another 27,000 lbs. of trout in Swain County, NC. Thats a LOT of stocked fish....but it's a shame the state stocks 95% sterile fish, if those stockers were 100% diploid there would be millions of fish in that river.
