Amazing video man, I have always loved your drone shots. I have been waiting for this video since Monday 😂. That border crossing was really stressful with that random town, bad KFC food experience, bad train and no WiFi. Good thing you got everything right because imagine what could happen with no SIM cards. I also really love the part where you always explained and guided us through how everything works. After a stressful day, watching your travelling videos really helped with my mood. Lastly the ending scene with an amazing shot of the twin towers is gorgeous 😍. Keep up the new elements and keep up the good work man 👍.

The Johor Bahru Sentral (train station) is next to the malaysian custom. 5 mins walk via escalator & sheltered bridge. You got con by the taxi who charge you RM 30 & bring you to another station. Normally should leave early as land border crossing can take 2hrs.
Gemas to Johor Bahru ETS is still under construction that why u have to transit/chance a train to KL. Come after a construction finish.... Just take 3-4 hours from JB to KL.
There a super comfortable buses that go from Singapore to KL - pricier than the train ticket alone but I think with all your taxi fares added up, it should work out to be the same.
actually the main train station, JB Sentral is next to the Malaysia CIQ. But due to rail upgrading. temporary its closed and the train service stop to the last station, Kempas Bahru.
JB Sentral Train Station is connected by JB Sentral Immigration Building, a semi-indoor station with large pillars on its platforms. That was Kempas Baru Railway Station (mind the printed ticket) you were at.
The one you took from JB isnt the electric train Service (ETS) - thats an old coach. The ETS will connect you from JB Sentral right at the border after immigration to KL Sentral. It will only be ready by 2023. The old station that u boarded train to KL is called Kempas station, which is far away from JB city Center and it is only temporary ✌️😉

Just wonder why they did not launched a non-stop service from Singapore to Kuala Lumpur and maybe up north to Bangkok. That would be nice!
There was once a train svc from kl to singapore, an overnight train....then the govwrnment 'sold' the land that the train station sat on(owned by KTM (Malaysian Train Co) at that time) in singapore and SG decide to stop teh services into the station and repurpose the land...
You should have taken the bus to KL via the Aeroline company Bus service. Please check this bus company service cause it has light meals and hot drink provided on the bus
Omg 😱 sorry to hear you miss it , wait I thought that u get a ticket connected to all interval train smoothly vise versa , hopefully 🙏 you safely arrived to Malaysia 🇲🇾 and you were at Jln Alor
I suspect the JB SENTRAL train station is closed due to the rail upgrading. I am not sure, but I read somewhere, due to the project, northbound trains only start at the Kempas station. I guess u should hv taken the express bus instead. Less hassle. Just 5 hours from Singapore.
The train station next to the border is JB Sentral. By right, if it departs from there, yeah you are right. However train to KL is still the worst way to get there because (1) trains are often delayed, sometimes up to 45mins, and (2) if you miss a train, next one in 4 hours...if you started driving at the point you missed your train you would have been half an hour away to reaching KL. Very risky if you have a connecting flight out of KL.

The 3 races above mentioned, being born and bred in Malaysia..they're all Malaysians. Just for your info. To look for Malay food..is easy. I did the same trip in 2018 with the wife and 3 kids.... A little tip is if you go to the Queen St Bus station in Singapore you can catch a Malaysian registered taxi from there directly to Johor Bahru Sentral train station. We didn't get out of the taxi leaving Singapore or entering Malaysia....just stopped at toll booth style checkpoint and got passports stamped...it cost S$60 from memory for the 5 of us. I am not sure if this is still possible but worth investigating.... Unfortunately our train broke down in the middle of nowhere and we had to wait hours for busses to come pick us up and take us to KL... We never did get to go in the nice train :( .... There is a video on my account if anyone is interested... Yes I give Jalan Alor a miss when in KL... It is ok but overpriced and too much hassle from all the restaurants trying to drag you in.... Next time you are in that area try Kedai Mamak in Jalan Robertson, great range of Malaysian dishes .... delicious tandoori chicken.. There is a cool church at the end of the street too...

Keep up the new elements and keep up the good work man 👍.
haha yeah i usually don't like entering a new country with no SIM card, thats like the first thing i do in case i ever get lost
I found your video by accident and was blown away by the quality. Might even use the same strategy in July to travel to KL from SG..
glad you enjoyed man! 👏🏼
Please don't 😂 Just take a bus from SG to KL. That's the fastest and cheapest way. And the buses have pretty decent seats 😁
Use this website to book the bus: www.easybook.com
Yayyy you're in Malaysia finally, have fun! Hope this trip you'll stay longer and explore MY. I'm looking forward to MY videos!/😬 Maybe you can visit Langkawi, Pulau Perhentian it's a very very beautiful Island, Cameron Highland, Genting, Pulau Pinang, Kelantan ( authentic Malay food will be found here) last not the least my hometown Malacca full of history and good Nonya food the best of the best 🤭😋 (if you do visit Malacca do check out the foods at Portuguese Settlement the seafood are good). Haha. Anyways enjoy your stay here in MY. Take care and be safe! 🤗

Are you looking for Malay food or food that are from Malaysia? I would recommend Kampung Baru for Malay food. Keep in mind though a lot of local foods also include Chinese food and Indian food as most of the Chinese and Indian people here are 3rd to 5th gen. Do try some while you're here!
Keep up the great videos I love Malaysia we as a family of 4 every year we go but unfortunately we haven’t been there for three years now. I’ll definitely keep watching to see how things have changed there 👍🏼
It’s much easier to travel there now! 😄
So much missed Malaysia already esp Johor Bahru and Kuala Lumpur. This makes me so lonely. Thanks Alex
11:08 Hey, if you want to have local Malay Malaysian foods in KL please do visit Kampung Baru. Late evening until night is peak period of Kampung Baru.

Oh dear you travelled for 12 hours by train when it's only 5 hours by bus.. But it's the experience I guess.. Have fun in Malaysia!
Haha yeah it was an experience!
Yep JB Sentral, which is right at the Immigration CIQ checkpoint, is closed for ETS Upgrade works. When Completed it will be ETS Trains, Dual Trackage, all the way to the Thai border. Woohoo!
If you like nature and hiking don’t forget to check out The Templer Park with several waterfalls near my home town RAWANG. Only 30 minutes drive from KL.

If you looking for variety of Malay food, can have visit to Kampung Baru. Anyway you should try Chinese food here too because most are local chinese food it's different compare to other chinese cuisine
Not sure if its due to covid but years ago i took a direct train from the malaysia customs building directly to kl
Loved seeing your travel day. Always appreciate your authenticity and being informative 🤗🙌🏽🙌🏽
thanks guys! appreciate it 😁👏🏼
JB Sentral Train Station is connected by JB Sentral Immigration Building, a semi-indoor station with large pillars on its platforms. That was Kempas Baru Railway Station (mind the printed ticket) you were at.
nice to see you back filming!
have to catch up again haha
That’s Kempas Bahru on your ticket. There’s a train station right beside the immigration which is where JB Sentral station is.
The Robertson, right? I stayed twice there before covid. KL is a great city 🏙️
yeah im pretty sure thats the name, its in Bintang district
@@alexandwhite it's the Robertson fir sure. The shops below are great for snacks.
You may have been unfortunately inconvenienced cos you had thought the train station was much closer to the border, but hey, like you said, you may very well be saving heaps of other people from making the same mistake. Thanks for sharing your learning for our benefit, and well done on the great vid. I've now subscribed!
Hello Alex, a new subscriber from Canada here😄 Love your reporting style and sharing of your experiences. I’m hoping to head down to SE Asia and need as much info as possible so am taking notes from your videos👍👍😄🇨🇦
That street is a tourist trap, no locals, so no local food....you have to get out of that central part.
Welcome back bro. Enjoy your stay and keep uploading good videos ✌️🙏
I love 💕 Malaysia so adventure and beautiful beach 👏. My country Singapore got nothing adventure only condominiums 🥱🥱
Naik bus juga cukup enak dgn pemandangan kiri kanan kebun sawit lewat jln hight way yg cukup lebar dan bus nya tdk ngebut karena peraturan yg ketat dibatasin 100 km/jam,kira 5 jam sdh sampai KL
im in singapore now, heading johor for a week then KL, done this train route many times but since the pandemic im super excited after seeing your video.... love sginapore but nothing compares to malaysia
Great video! Once I was planning a trip like yours, from Singapore do Kuala Lumpur, unfortunately it didn't happen. But I tried to look for a train in this route, great to see your experience. Just wonder why they did not launched a non-stop service from Singapore to Kuala Lumpur and maybe up north to Bangkok. That would be nice!
Blame BN..
There was once a train svc from kl to singapore, an overnight train....then the govwrnment 'sold' the land that the train station sat on(owned by KTM (Malaysian Train Co) at that time) in singapore and SG decide to stop teh services into the station and repurpose the land...
try to kampung baru a lot malysia malay food there.. wellcome back home
You should have taken the bus to KL via the Aeroline company Bus service. Please check this bus company service cause it has light meals and hot drink provided on the bus
7:48 lol that is my neighborhood in Kajang, which is 30mins away (by car) from Kuala Lumpur..
Omg 😱 sorry to hear you miss it , wait I thought that u get a ticket connected to all interval train smoothly vise versa , hopefully 🙏 you safely arrived to Malaysia 🇲🇾 and you were at Jln Alor
haha yes i made it back okay!
Great video! Good to know about the location of the train station. Will make sure we plan for lots of time. 🤙
You can have Indian Banana leaf food in Brickfields area...
Gosh I missed that street in Jalor Alor Bukit Bintang. Love the food there!

I'm planning to go to Singapore and then Kuala Lumpur by train. I was also under the impression that the train station is just by the Singapore-Malaysia border.
I think it's easier to take the bus. Or better yet just take the plane 😄.
Sad to hear that. You are right, no one seem to enter to M’sia. No tourists or migrant workers from neighboring countries anymore.
Despite all incoveniences, train is the most safest mode of transportation in any weather condition. Dont regret it, you have made the right choice. 🤣✋
I don't like the train it is smelly, much prefer bus.
Expecting the worst when travel abroad. Just spare at least one day for that and make the rest enjoyable one. Stay cool bro. You look good. Enjoy the stay and stay safe.
Omg...Alex...you just repeating my route....😂😂..cuz I took the trip right before covid started back in Sept 2019...I took a bus from Singapore to Malaysia.went through the immigration...at the GEMAS train station..then took the train to Bangkok...then flew to Saigon Vietnam....it was fun & the most memorable trip I ever had besides my other train trip from Berlin to Belgium then to Hungary...
haha thats awesome, i guess you didn't miss the train like me 😅😅
@@alexandwhite NOPE...I did according to my plan... I met few people along the way...1 American from Iowa & we became friend instantly..we spent the night on the train from Malaysia to Bangkok... It was fun🚉....😂
Sorry for you, usually the train station is right next to the immigration office. It was relocated to further north, to Kempas Baru Station for 6 months between Nov 2021 & May 2022, for future upgrading….. not much info was published. Hope you enjoyed your ride. Hopefully by next year if you are taking the same route again, you can sit in comfort from Johor Baru Station, all the way to Kuala Lumpur or Penang in the new train service like the one you were taking from Gemas to KL Central. Bravo !

Thanks for sharing this wonderful video. That was your 2nd visit to KL, Malaysia, right. How could u miss d train. Wasn't there an express train direct from Singapore to KL. Welcome back to KL Alex. R u still in Malaysia.
Back in my younger days in d early 1990s, I used to do weekend shopping trips to Singapore, n I took d long train ride direct from KL to Singapore. At that time, KTM still owns a piece of land in d city, n d last train station was in d city, but d Singapore govt has taken d land back. There was one trip that there was a flood on d train track n I was stuck in d middle of d way from Singapore, back to KL.
Many foreign tourists like to take d luxury bus ride from Singapore to KL n it's also very affordable.
unfortunately no express train anymore, have to take connecting train in Gemas
@@alexandwhite Ok. Maybe next time u can try d luxury bus ride. 🤗
definetely that was 1978 blade runner
Alex what's the name of your backpack man? I'm going crazy out here trying to figure it out.
I love kuala lumpur, there is another choice is cross the border and go to Joho airport and fly domestic to KL, also cheap choice
Iam so glad i flew from malaysia to sg rather than travel by land. Saved me a lot of hassle and time
LOTS OF LOVE FROM INDIA. ❤❤
thanks for watching Muhammad!
Hi Alex, you do not need to wear mask when outside anymore. FYI.
next time from Larkin sentrel jb using bus to kl I think More easy.

Hi Bud, the malaysian custom is connected to the train station. After you are done with custom, go down to level 3 and walk towards the mall and you will see it.
its closed from what i was told
Some driver may not know the train station bcoz not common transportation compare to bus.
JB sentral was closed temporarily due to the EDTP project
Hey Alex ,this one is genuinely good ! ,looking for your next videos from msia

Hello Alexander I love your video
thank you for watching!!
i thought the train station is just bellow the immigration check point at jb sentral and walking distance because its inter connected with the immigration check points, i wonder why the taxi driver took you to kempas baru station that is furthur away.
originally that is where i booked my train ticket from, there used to be one train that takes you all the way to KL but no anymore, you have to take two trains now
But it's more cheaper if you take a flight from Johor Bahru from woodlands going to Kuala Lumpur. I've been doing that many times.
Nice video, I miss Malaysia.
i'll be going back to malaysia again! so much to see
Welckme to KL. Malaysian is a nationality. If you are talking about food belonging to certain race like the Malays, Chinese, Indian..then you're looking for Malay food. The 3 races above mentioned, being born and bred in Malaysia..they're all Malaysians. Just for your info. To look for Malay food..is easy. Usually the owner and workers are Malays and most of them wear hijab. The best place to look is the Malay kampung called Kampung Baru, smack in the middle of the city. You can google the place. If you're looking for SIM cards, try 7 elevan if you arrive night time..coz they open 24 hrs. Enjoy your visit in Malaysia and looking forward to your next video.
Hi just a tip .... Tiger beer is made in Singapore... Enjoy your trip... Keep safe.
Leave more than an hour and half and 2 hours
The Checkpoint is rarely that empty and fast (also depends on day and time you're travelling)
It easier to take a bus from Johor Bahru to Kuala Lumpur, and faster too.
I did that on the way back haha

Last time Singapore was part of Malaysia before being independent since 9 August 1965.
You should have just take taxi to larkin and take a bus direct to Kl. Save you much hassle cos now ktm closed at JB sentral. Take bus instead next time. Save you time n hassle.

Wish u a very rewarding tour
The train station is actually beside the customs but it is undergoing upgrade so it was closed
It will take 5 yrs
That is the beauty of Malaysia! Its is an organise mess! I am surprised that the train that I usually take from the Malaysia border does not operate. Enjoy your Asian trip!
Hey you! Wow! It has been years (at least it's what I feel) since you last been here in Malaysia.
You mentioned the KFC is a bit sweet, well, almost everything in Malaysia tends to be sweeter than I would prefer, and the reason is due to the majority preference in 'sugar' or added sugar stuff - so bear in mind, 😅😅
Anyway, welcome to KL Alexander! Hope my country treats you well. Give me a shout if you want to meet up ..
By the way, no mask is require when you're outdoor... Open spaces.
Note: try not to take the taxi by the roadside. Use GRAB car instead. Charges are better and much more reliable/safer.
Download the app, and you're good to go.

Great video brother
thanks for watching man!
Can you please add a link to the Airbnb you staying in.
Looking to amount passanger of train..it is not worth to build fast train singapore-kl..
Did you have a Singapore SIM card? Most prepaid cards from the 3 biggest operators in Singapore has roaming data for use in Malaysia included in the package at little or no additional charges.
Alex, when I travel my big thing is a proper tolit seat like the modern train 🚆 you were on. I feel bad for handicap or elderly walking in a squatting bathroom.
yeah true, the second train was much nicer though very updated!
Brother, when are u coming back to Singapore again?
