ive spent two years in total in cambodia and i love the country and lifestyle, its so chilled out and easy going. and i can say confidently that what happened there in the 70s could easily happen tomorrow at the drop of a hat. it was khmer killing khmer and they could all do it again. in an instant. they hate each other and have no love for anyone outside of their own immediate family circle
The chicken metaphor was disturbingly apt, as people under the Khmer Rouge were treated as just that, livestock to be worked in the field, and slaughtered for the slightest obedience.
well you cant really say that...they were the khmer rouge that did it...not only thai villagers were killed by them, but a huge amount number of cambodias population were killed.
