Without the gears, could you imagine each round having to move each worker up one space? What a time saver the gears provide. I really do not think the gears are a gimmick. They serve a perfect function. Genius adaptation of the multiple gears moving as once to advance the workers. NOT A GIMMICK. Thanks for making these videos!
Been enjoying these 'still worth it?' reviews! I really dig the gears in the game, as it does beat having to reach around the table to move the little bits around. Otherwise, the weirdness with all of the different tracks and yellow/red wheels and what you can do with them once you figure them out is definitely making this a keeper for me. The expansion might be interesting to try out and review as well. I've personally found the starting abilities to be super fresh! I also like how they give you an anchor for your strategy, so you don't risk getting super lost as often. I'm assuming they made the marco polo game and found "why not do this in our other game?" lol
Great video! I keep watching it while I decide whether to buy this game or not. I know you said you play with your mom, but I am not sure if you play exclusively 2-players or with more people. Is this game worth it if I am *only* going to play it at 2 players?
I feel a growing need to buy this game. Probably because I want to pose on Instagram with some freshly painted gears with a gormless expression upon my face. Strange what 12 months of lockdown does for your priorities.
Love these “still worth it” videos. I agree that Tzolkin is still worth it. I enjoy the game and it’s always a good thinky time. I do wish there was some more variability a la teotihuacan, but it’s still a solid game. I see dungeon petz, any chance you’d do a video on it?

It’s fine with 2 as you block off some of the spaces on the cogs.
