    How do you feel about Fate/Extra Record's gameplay changes? Let me know in the comments!

      It looks to have fun gameplay, unlike the original, I’m currently playing the original and this gameplay fucking sucks, and also I’m in and Extra marathon because of OC3 so, wow I can’t wait to play CCC.

    For me, the whole guessing of the rock, paper, scissors made sense when you're fighting servants.
    Since the game was split into 2 parts, investigation and the servant battle, properly researching your enemy was the main goal to make the battle easier. More information you get from the first part, the more of the actions you forsee the enemy makes.
    What doesn't make sense is the amount of grinding needed to unlock these for the mobs.
    I think they made the old system based on enemy servants first before implementing it to the mobs

    I believe the changes will benefit the game, as when I played the original, the combat felt like a chore. I really hope they create a remake of Fate/Extra CCC

    I think it'll be good. Honestly didn't hate the old combat system, but I get why people did. I think this is a positive change that will still follow the combat spirit of the original.
    And of course what we've seen is pretty bare bones. It should (from what I've seen) all be from the opening round. I'd be shocked if someone could build a hyper OP and finely tuned deck in the very first part of the game.
    Honestly what I'm more interested in is the future. The game will be great and it'll be awesome to go through this story once more. But even if they didn't sound optimistic years ago, I think doing CCC with these kinds of visuals would be unbelievable. And more so than the original game it has far more potential to go to the next level since you can see big areas where that game could be improved even further.

    Slay the Spire kickstarted a very effective and successful game mechanic, and I find it cool that it has become ingrained in the gaming panorama like this. It's now as normal as run & jump or combos and supers.

    Played the shot out of Extra, back in the day. I started out thinking it was a bit flat, but grew to appreciate learning the patterns of each enemy. That all said, so long as the card system isn’t like certain games(looking at you, KingsomHearts Re: Chain of Memories) it should be fine. What I’m really hoping they fix is the exp curve. Grinding in the old game was a nasty slog, after even one level over what they wanted you at.

    Fate/Extra and CCC combat was definitely not the best but it does feel good when you got the enemy pattern down with the hard parts being servants battle since there's the extra guessing if they're going to use a skill or not
    I am very interested in the new combat for Record so hopefully they manage to make something amazing with it and not mess it up

      Haven't played CCC myself, but I don't think that's a good comparison. CCC is probably the same length as, if not longer than, Extra because it's a whole new game, meanwhile the Answer, or episode Aegis, is a lot shorter than the main game.

      Agreed, if it sells well, we might just see a separate CCC. I'd also prefer that.

    compared to the original combat system, the card system is going to amazing. in order for this new combat system to be successful, they need to make the card system very unique to each of the Servants we play as, the enemies we fight and each boss we fight. they also need it to be easy to understand for people like me who never played this type of combat system while having what gamers like about this combat system while having a unique version of the Card Combat System that is a different spin on how other games like Slay The Spire have used it

    I enjoyed midnight suns which is kinda like this but with an added tactical rpg positioning which i loved. If this is anything like that in terms of gameplay i might actually play a ng+ (assuming this has one) for the first time in years

    Fate/Extra is also my first introduction to the Fate series but I forgot about it eventually and came back after buying DVD for FSN UBW. Anyway, yeah, I actually didn't enjoy the combat for F/Extra and just sometimes frustrated sometimes. Funny enough, I remember fighting Rider, Francis Drake...., it was like a nightmare to me and still is in FGO, whenever she crits, I just got flashback on how she managed to wreck me lol.

    Honestly, I’d argue that the original combat was amazing, it’s just the grinding that sucks. It really shines in the 1v1s against servants.
    I get it, not seeing the moves of enemies is kind of a rough start, but their patterns are easy to figure out and you eventually unlock all their moves the more you battle them. But I digress.
    This system is really my favorite when it comes to fighting servants. With enough intel, you have just enough moves revealed to make it a fair fight on equal grounds as you try whittle down your opponent’s health turn by turn while you sneak in healing, buffs, and debuffs. What I really like is how the servants go at the same time in an attempt to overpower each other instead of waiting for the other’s turn to be over.
    With the combination of buffs for some servants, it encourages you and even makes you want to use the attack, break, or guard moves even during the unknown moves, bringing a sense of risk for great reward, whether that be going for higher damage, stunning your opponent, or recovering MP.
    Anyways, while I’m sad to see it go, I do wanna see what Record’s combat system is up to. Hopefully it’ll live up to that same potential as EXTRA’s rock power scissors combat (it’s good, trust me, it’s just the grinding that sucks).

    Luck based gameplays is common. Even FGO with its card style gameplay is luck based as well. Hell Fate Extra has less luck based on its gameplay than FGO. The paper scissors thing is more about memorization and knowing the patterns of the enemy.

    @maosama3695 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

    as much as i love fate/extra , it was a boring game. i remember only playing one route of it and it was ok but the game play gets boring with the rock paper scissor type.
    fgo kinda did it better , but still kinda boring. the card system in the new one looks interesting. and it if its successful we may see it transfer to a new game.
    overworld was tedious , and by the end game mobs are too weak and becomes more nuisance.
    i hope we get a harder difficulty this time. and don't make characters too op , i hope this card mechanic has a pro-cons system built to it. like you can't spam the same powerful cards.

    I can't say I hate the original Fate/Extra battle system, but it became repetitive and they should find something new to get more new people interested in this game as well as the original players. So I think it is a good approach and I hope that they are cooking hard!

  • @Fermin-hw5pd
    @Fermin-hw5pd หลายเดือนก่อน

    For me the combat wasn't the worst part (save state scumming cough cough), but explorarion and repetitivity was, we spend a whole week in 2 dungeons and in some days literally nothing happens, this is worsened by how damn grindy the game is, it takes AGES of grinding to get level ups, and the combat can very easily mess you up, CCC kinda fixes this by: you're done with a dungeon floor? Then you don't have to stay in it any longer because the story continues, plus you level up in a normal pace
    I'm guessing leveling up won't be a problem here, combat is different, and the exploration looks a lot of fun

    • @KawaiiFive0h
      @KawaiiFive0h  หลายเดือนก่อน

      I’m very much hoping the fine tune the leveling. I can understand needing to grind at the end of a game to get some crazy powerful weapon or fight a super boss. But needing to just to progress even AFTER you’ve made it a point to fight absolutely every enemy is never good
