These episodes feel like a personal vlog of Terysa going through the culture shock and newness of the boat, while Nick has already been through it (or maybe he's just more chill due to the herb!). 😆 Don't beat yourself up, but also recognize that you made a conscious choice to not be there during the boat build, and the different in comfort between you two is a result of that; you'll adjust differently to the boat than Nick, simply due to familiarity. Happy sailing!
Nick's comments of being able to hear if the boat is happy is so accurate! I would find it so nerve-wracking to not hear the subtle changes as the wind speed increases. Congrats on climbing the learning curve of RR2!
I found you in 2019 when you guested on the Wynns sailing ⛵️ show with Nikki and Jason ; ) so now This is like full circle ⭕️ where You took the two year journey to get Your own catamaran sailing ⛵️ boat; ) which was a no brainer if you could afford it !!!❤😂🎉😅🎉😊🎉
Nick are you in distress jack is up side down. On a lighter point it is great to see you back on the water. It is great that you show the ups the downs. It your new baby it will have teething problems, please keep us all up to date on the little problems. The smiles when the sails where up engine off was it worth waiting for.
Hi lovly people, remember you don't need a spring on a cat leaving the dock! Just one fender at the bow against the dock and turn the sturn out by opposing use of the engines and the stern will nicly pivot out from the dock. It's really a helmsman only operation. Good luck on getting the boat, very much looking forward to follow your travels onRR2.
The build time for all 3 of the boats, yours, the Wyns and Vagabonde has been a very long time with Covid in the mix, so long enough for lives to have changed and expectations to be altered. It will e interesting to see how the others get on, I think the Wyns will adapt very quickly, yours needs some factory maintenance and fixes, and amongst the 3, some one might even admit they chose the wrong boat!
Terysa lovely to see you smiling and back on the water. Your new boat is the same as most people moving to a new house you don’t know where anything is or how it works, but like any new home after a couple of weeks you know where everything is and what everything does. Don’t beat yourself up over it 3 years not doing something it takes a while to get back into it. Happy days are ahead Steve
Great to see Terysa smiling and laughing again. I like that you show sailing is not always smooth seas and friendly winds which then require motor sailing or reefs in the sails. Thos cushioned seats in the foredeck look very comfortable. All I can say is more, more more.
Appreciate the candid episode . A year from now the "trials and tribulations" and doubt will be behind you two . The "minor issues" provides a learning opportunity into RR2 despite the fact big dollars were spent to bring her into the world. Nick as a dentist the strive for perfection is paramount , but as you got the chance to do a maiden sail on Hull # 1 , everything wasn't perfect . Congrats again on your beautiful cat !
New boats are tough, my philosophy is the first 12-18 months is going to be tough as you shake everything out. Plus, you really haven't had any experience with serious sea miles on a catamaran before, so the learning curve is big but not overwhelming, in no time you'll be experts!
Nick, I think was a small bit off form at 11.45, he doesn't usually miss an opportunity like the one Tyresa gave him at that point!!😉... Great to see ye back in your natural habitat! ... Stay Safe & Fair Winds !!
Watch shifts are important to keep your crew rested and alert. It's good to hear it's getting somewhat better. Give it time and nautical miles of sailing. It'll come back to you and become more routine. Thanks for sharing. 😉
It's amazing that Terysa thinks that the sea state is so calm when we're watching the bow go from negative 3 to plus 25 degrees. Nick's right about the placement of the helms and the relative comfort of being at the fulcrum of the boat. On a very small new boat it takes a long time to get things wired, but you guy have a host of systems and an entirely new rig to deal with, that will take some weeks of sailing to figure out.
A really great comment on the helm position. I have been wondering about the forward cockpit but there seem to be so many negatives that do not balance out the ease of getting forward or seeing the sails more easily. I never took into account the comfort of the position of your helm and the protected but outdoors in the fresh air... Great to see you all on the water again
Love Ruby Rose I, but is not comparable with the beauty ship you have now. We are so much waiting for more of you. Love from OsoYolo in Antigua Guatemala.
Great episode, thanks. The only person really happy about a few minor issues happening is Nickky. She is writing it all down hopefully thinking she won't make the same mistakes. Bad news Nikky you won't make those mistakes but your new boat will find a way to deliver some different ones for you.
Hey Terysa, you are doing great, don’t stress the small stuff……it’s a new boat and naturally it will take a small amount of time to get back in to the swing of things. You have a great boat, you have a great partner, you surround yourself with great people (Nikki and Jason) and your visiting great places……pretty soon it will all fall in to place and next thing you know you’ll be having a great time!
Still got your 'ensign' upside down! Its all looking good, especially Teresa! Must be great to have the Wynns onboard for these shakedown legs. Will be interesting to compare with them when they take delivery.
Don’t be so hard on yourselves. I can’t imagine how stressful it is to learn everything about a new boat, especially with the cameras recording everything.
Awesome to see Terysa back on the water. Worry less on the springing off the dock though. I live in Canada and have been driving a motorbike for 50 years. Our season is about 5 1/2 months and every spring I have to re-learn how to turn a corner. Your next spring off the dock will be so much better you will require a glass of champagne to celebrate it.
Loving the "candid thoughts", doubt and (perhaps) fears as you learn your new boat. Why are you flying the Union Flag from the rear and not a Red ensign? And why is it upside down?
Excited to have found your channel! We are headed to Phangan in Nov. It's great to see locations before you head there. My biggest worry is trying to get around on the island with a family of 5! 😂
What lovely people all four of you are! However, you have presented me/us with the opportunity to give other euphemisms for Delhi Belly, Montezuma's Revenge: my personal favourite - having the squits, but geographically related names are :- Hiroshima Surprise, Eartha Kitts (and various other rhymes), Rangoon runs, Hot Java/Java Lava (coffee drinkers may be put off), or the none too surprising Bali Belly. May your gut biomes be varied, balanced and srong
OO my Mr. centerfold, Terysa trying to make a home without curtains and those Wynn people jumping around with all kinds of cameras. While Nick takes a backseat contemplating his next move. As they all live a " life of Riley" thx guys ~
Nice to see Nick tucking into a bottle of Leo, great video, showing it as it is. Not sure I would be happy sailing a new catamaran for 4 days straight from a Chinese ship yard (I was responsible for quality in a Chinese factory) I think that needs review, maybe a some smaller shakedown trips.
Yes, I agree. After watching the Wynnn's last video with so many workers onboard at one time working on a multitude of projects, it was chaotic. That's not what I would expect from HH. Even the factory workers and HH staff comments on Indeed concur with this observation. Quality and hurrying are inversely proportional. It's no wonder new boat owners encounter hiccups.
@hansh8071 Correct, Vietnam isn't China. They are both Asian countries separated by 3527 km. A great educational source for comparison: Manufacturing in China vs Vietnam Guide // Vietnam and China Sourcing Pros and Cons. It's an interesting and thought-provoking read. Vietnam factory workers earn about 1/3 of Chinese workers. 🤔
Is it just the camera or does this boat seem to bounce a lot through the waves? I was not expecting that from a large catamaran. Very interesting watching the boat in action with the sea. Happy Trails
I wonder how many times "Ahh Sh-t!" was used without making it o camera? Yes I caught it at towards the video end and just had to chuckle. Loved the video and it is like everything new you it has to grow and mold onto you and then suddenly one day it is reflex action handling something.
Hey guys, I may be mistaken, but from what I see of your standing rigging, the shrouds need a turn or two as they seem to be snatching/ 'bouncing slack'.
@2.37. I notice both of the port shrouds are flapping in the breeze, as RR2 bounces about. Should they be this slack Nick? When is the update inspection due.
Hey sometimes a reef in the main makes the sail a lot more comfortable on a seawind, takes a long time to figure that out that faster can be reefed , strange eh?
Would you think about trampoline covers that you can place over it while sailing to stop some of the water coming onto the front windows as it seems a fair amount does come through the trampoline.
You do it because it's fun and it would cost a fortune to get that sick , wet and uncomfortable at a theme park 😂 Don't look back to your mistakes, they are lessons , no experienced mariner became experienced without the odd slip up. You don't need to throw the boat handling rule book away with a cat but you will certainly rewrite a lot of pages as you gain experience. I've sailed monos , cats for 63 years , ships up to 350,000 tonnes as captain and pilot of all of them you can do some amazing manoeuvres with a twin screw cat . Love your vids fron RR1 days and it's going to be enjoyable watching you gain experience on RR2 . Enjoy the sailing
Just curious, but excuse the lack of sailing terms with question... how and when is it determined the optimum tightness of the turnbuckles on the stays(¿) and do they need to be readjusted after a breakin period?
Now that you've got that big beautiful boat and have some experienced sailor friends with you, do you think you might enjoy sailing with friends on board, or prefer to sail with just you as a couple? OR, perhaps mixing it up a bit?
To Admiral Nick would you know how much more Speed would you get if you went Carbon Fiber Mast/Boom and Spars ? Love the Black Carbon Sails. What a Awesome Cat you have. Hope Gone with the Wynns get a Carbon Fiber Mast to make it fast and lighter
Maybe Terysa you enjoyed the complicity of being in a monohull with Nick and sharing this huge new space with friends was just too soon. I believe you two together to inaugurate that new boat would have been a better option. Sorry the friends that I follow
I think I'm going to enjoy next weeks sail rather than this one, although this was great. Next week looks interesting. 👍 Having seen the love heart at the end there, I'm not sure I want to do some "bite you in the arse" sailing Nick!!! Can you tell me if The Wynn's boat is of a similar weight please? Fair 💨's and following 🌊's !!!
Don't be so exigent with yourself Terysa.
Ok, we get it, it’s a new boat and there’s a learning curve.
Nick's comments of being able to hear if the boat is happy is so accurate! I would find it so nerve-wracking to not hear the subtle changes as the wind speed increases. Congrats on climbing the learning curve of RR2!
Those dark sails put an extra touch of elegance on that boat.
Looks like the mast is pumping a bit, check stay tension... (enjoy the vids) 🙂

The pano at 2:39 gives you a really great sense of the helm visibility in this boat. It's really quite good.
SO great to see you on on the water again.... even if there are a few bumps and bums... :D :D
Great see you back on the water, but your Union Jack is upside down! Yes, one is a stickler.
What a spectacular Cat, congratulations.
Terysa lovely to see you smiling and back on the water. It’s great to see Teresa again. Nick has a great partner. Teresa, you’re doing great.
Beautiful boat!! You will learn RR2’s tendencies and preferences soon enough. Stay safe and enjoy!
Nick not looking like he’s enjoying life at the moment, cheer up bro life is good
This is like getting used to a new pair of shoes! Enjoy the ride!
Great to see Terysa smiling and laughing again. I like that you show sailing is not always smooth seas and friendly winds which then require motor sailing or reefs in the sails. Thos cushioned seats in the foredeck look very comfortable. All I can say is more, more more.
New boat is great. So nice seeing you again Terysa.
Nick even looks happier!!

Enjoy the journey on the new boat. You need not be perfect! Things will come back to you both sooner than later. She is a beauty
love having you guys back at the top of my feed.
Watch shifts are important to keep your crew rested and alert. It's good to hear it's getting somewhat better. Give it time and nautical miles of sailing. It'll come back to you and become more routine. Thanks for sharing. 😉

What a AWESOME sail .. THE long awaited BACK ON THE WATER ... YOU GUYS ARE GREAT ... have fun !!!!
I can tell the stress has almost completely melted away, you guys look 10 yr younger, congrats on this epic journey ❤👍👍
Love Ruby Rose I, but is not comparable with the beauty ship you have now. We are so much waiting for more of you. Love from OsoYolo in Antigua Guatemala.
Wow, thank you
I love this episode, especially the wrap. I'm glad you do this, because those of us currently land-locked really need it. Thanks for sharing!
So much to learn on your new boat but you are both up to it and it will be fun to watch.
Great episode, thanks. The only person really happy about a few minor issues happening is Nickky. She is writing it all down hopefully thinking she won't make the same mistakes. Bad news Nikky you won't make those mistakes but your new boat will find a way to deliver some different ones for you.
You guys are doing better than 90% of us could ever do.
Things are getting groovier and groovier. Wonder sailing vessel. The four of you together is really cool. stay safe and stay groovy.
RR2 will be a home sooner than you think, you folks will make so. 💐💐💐👍😎🦅🇺🇸
Hey Terysa, you are doing great, don’t stress the small stuff……it’s a new boat and naturally it will take a small amount of time to get back in to the swing of things. Still got your 'ensign' upside down! Its all looking good, especially Teresa! Must be great to have the Wynns onboard for these shakedown legs. Will be interesting to compare with them when they take delivery.
Ensign? Do you mean the Union flag/jack?
I hope you are all settled in and enjoying the seas once again. ❤❤
. Your boat looks outstanding, can’t wait for your new adventures
Great. Just what we have missed for the last few years….can’t wait for next video…a great humbler it appears
Good to see you on the water again. Looking forward to continued adventures.
RR2 revels in that sort of sea state and wind... Marvelous...
So fun to have you all back on a boat!
I love the realness!
SO AWESOME to SEE YOU BACK!!!!! WOOOOOO HOOooooo
Cats do have an uncomfortable motion at sea (mostly) Sailing them under powered can also add to sea sick feeling...
Rig looks quite slack at times too
Well done everyone, great fun! 👍👏👏👏
Don’t be so hard on yourselves. I can’t imagine how stressful it is to learn everything about a new boat, especially with the cameras recording everything.

Great to see you guys back on the water. It is a new adventure for you both and thanks for taking us along.
Gadzooks....you're flying the Union Jack upside down..!!..
You both look more relaxed and so much more rested. It is all working out. You're both talented sailors and you are learning to enjoy our new home.
Hi guys, love your new boat. It looks amazing. FYI @ 6:22 your Union Flag is upside down. Take care, Andy x
Cheers guys.
Loving the "candid thoughts", doubt and (perhaps) fears as you learn your new boat. Why are you flying the Union Flag from the rear and not a Red ensign? And why is it upside down?
Must be surreal to finally be on you new design, brand new Cat. So happy for you two. Safe travels. Happy days.
Excited to have found your channel! We are headed to Phangan in Nov. It's great to see locations before you head there. My biggest worry is trying to get around on the island with a family of 5! 😂
Great fun , good luck .

Please fix the Flag. Glad to see you back on the water and beginning to enjoy boating life again!

I think you 4 are great sailors⚓️

This is in vietnam guys 😉

You do it to make money, remember!
So glad you are back sailing !!
Great looking boat just beautiful.
Always stressful with a new Boat end up on a sand bar 2 hours after hand over 🤣🤣🤣 nothing ever goes to plan when owning a boat
Love the new boat. What a fantastic job on the sails
Is it just the camera or does this boat seem to bounce a lot through the waves? I was not expecting that from a large catamaran. Very interesting watching the boat in action with the sea. Happy Trails
Boat will be fine, you guys just have to grow into it.👍🏼
Wow man. Nice ride.
The Wynns look blissfully happy to finally be sailing. They seem like the perfect couple to have on a shakedown cruise.
At what wind speed do you put on life jackets and tie on to jack lines? Asking for a friend named Jason...
I wonder how many times "Ahh Sh-t!" was used without making it o camera? Yes I caught it at towards the video end and just had to chuckle. Loved the video and it is like everything new you it has to grow and mold onto you and then suddenly one day it is reflex action handling something.
Wonderful ship! Give it time. :)

@2.37. I notice both of the port shrouds are flapping in the breeze, as RR2 bounces about.
Should they be this slack Nick? When is the update inspection due.
6:47 omg, did I just see a racing stripe on Jason’s swim trunks?….😉
1 or 2 small Lithium power banks. Then it can power a fan laptop or anything. it can go to beach with you also. That is for Jason.
Hey sometimes a reef in the main makes the sail a lot more comfortable on a seawind, takes a long time to figure that out that faster can be reefed , strange eh?
Pretty boat
We'd be a bit happier/less stressed here if you guys learned to use tethers while you're wandering around the deck in pitching seas.
Firstly, congrats for beautiful Ruby Rose 2. Terysa, your Australian accent is so much more pronounced after your long stay in Australia. LOL!
Would you think about trampoline covers that you can place over it while sailing to stop some of the water coming onto the front windows as it seems a fair amount does come through the trampoline.
why?????????????
You do it because it's fun and it would cost a fortune to get that sick , wet and uncomfortable at a theme park 😂

Tough question but going to ask it - any buyer’s remorse? Design changes wish you had done?
To Admiral Nick would you know how much more Speed would you get if you went Carbon Fiber Mast/Boom and Spars ? Love the Black Carbon Sails. What a Awesome Cat you have. Hope Gone with the Wynns get a Carbon Fiber Mast to make it fast and lighter
Design has not improved on raised bulkhead steering both for visibility and sailhandling lines leading aft.
That port lower shroud looks way too loose😂
Maybe Terysa you enjoyed the complicity of being in a monohull with Nick and sharing this huge new space with friends was just too soon.
I believe you two together to inaugurate that new boat would have been a better option. Sorry the friends that I follow

Didn't you sail the 1260 for a season? How different is your new boat from that experience in Australia?
