Thank you for this well done video presentation! I purchased a new Ranger Tug R-31 Command Bridge in 2021 from Winter Island Yacht Yard in Salem Massachusetts. After the passing of my beloved wife I needed to downsize from my 43' trawler yacht but wanted a vessel with all the amenities my larger boat had. The R-32 CB checked off all of the boxes and than some. Although the base boat comes with an extensive list of standard features, I purchased the Luxury Edition with the generator, air conditioning, etc. Additionally, I opted for a Bimini top, roll-up enclosure for the aft deck to enable me to sit outside on inclement weather days, the dingy with Weaver quick release davits, and a third helm station in the aft cockpit. The Volvo D4 diesel in incredible, giving me fantastic fuel economy at displacement speeds but with the ability to reach 19 knots if need be. The boat has the most amazing use of space I have ever seen and is literally a 'Swiss Army Knife' of innovation and design. The standard bow and stern thrusters make docking a pleasure. Truly a great 'pocket yacht' that attracts tons of attention everywhere you go!
that is truly one of the boats that designed by salesmen from the inside out I think it looks lie a swiss army knife with all the blades out looks like a great dock boat that never sees action just a thought
I’ve enjoyed watching your videos for years, but you’re missing things. The seat that folds up facing forward port side of the helm, open the fridges, was that an ice maker, how does that small berth close up for privacy, demonstrate the cockpit built in side seats. Otherwise, you did a good job and you have the voice to be a radio DJ, at midnight, for a cool jazz station. Look forward to the next video.
Love these boats. I think people confuse these with Nordhavns - so no these are not blue water boats. That said Nordhavn only made 2 boats that could do the Loop. The 59 Coastal Crusier - and that one squeaks by, and the new 41 - which costs like a million dollars.
The ones with the generators have AC, at least on the newer models (the Luxury Edition as opposed to the Northwest Edition, which has diesel heat instead). Not sure about 2013.
I just watched Expedition Sea Nest do that crossing in the winter in their 25ft Ranger. It looked a bit choppy but their smaller Ranger handled it! th-cam.com/video/bxb3FCX8wbI/w-d-xo.html&ab_channel=ExpeditionSeaNest
Fine if you pick a good weather window. Like any modern powerboat I doubt I'd want to be aboard in a storm/high winds. She's meant for coastal cruising/inland waterways/nearshore stuff with an eye on weather.
Its thin but adequate. Benefit it keeps weight down but just don't ram anything hard. Other manufactures had thinner hulls without issue too. My experience: Boat salvager.
I like everything about the Ranger Tugs except for the range. You can't even go 500 miles. It's really just a water RV for the coast and rivers. You can't really go off grid.
You should definitely not be 500 miles from shore with this boat, or even a fifth of that, so I think the range helps keep people from trying to use the boat outside what it's designed and engineered for. Stay relatively close to shore, coastal cruise and and fuel up as you go. You don't need a big range to be "off grid." Get some solar and batteries.
Like everything else, a boat is a compromise of values and features. For long distance cruising with extended range, you will need to pony-up some huge money and purchase a Nordhavn or a Krogen, both of which sport full displacement hulls albeit at only a 7-8 knot cruising speed. They are both really fine boats but are built for a different purpose.
That narrow walkway thing ( I'm not a sailor) along the side of the boat looks like a man overboard situation to me especially at sea. Too narrow, no way.
The reason for the canvas is to allow the entire flybridge to be lowered as it is hinged just as the mast is. This allows the clearance needed to tow the boat and get under bridges while being towed on the road.
With all due respect sir, that is really not so. Their hulls are no thinner than most other boats being marketed today. They did get some bad press however from a man that bought a used Ranger Tug that had been improperly set up on jack stands while on the 'hard' at some yard which caused damage. He has posted his story all over the internet hence the myth that the hulls are weak. Additionally, this buyer did NOT have the boat surveyed by a marine surveyor who would have spotted the problem before the sale. So yes, he did indeed have problems but that was no fault of the factory nor of the quality of the build. They are well built vessels that are designed for coastal cruising like most other boats.

Wow, interesting how it all works and compact. The fold out seats are brilliant!!
Nice tug ! Lots of nice features for a 31 footer and the teak is a nice touch 👍.
Looks beautifully cared for, congrat's to the owners for taking such good care of the vessel.
A lot of boat for its size ❤
Great boat for Lake Erie and the Islands, has decent range from Port Clinton to cruise the Great Lakes.

Great review and boat walk thru!

I pick these up and deliver all over the U.S. , they make them around the Seattle area, nice boats. You need to find a 41ft and check it out
Rockstar? Rockstar? Do you know what it takes to be a Rockstar? Lol!
Nice to see you demonstrating the raycon headsets in NS.

"Don't mind me pooping while you're tring to sleep in the second berth."
The dinette does convert into a berth as well, yes? Does this boat have AC? Great posting, as usual Sir.

This would be great for cruising the Chesapeake Bay! Vacation home on the water. Nice.
How would this boat do on open waters, like going from Marathon FL to the Bahamas, Key West and Ft. Jefferson?
Love your channel.

Would be perfect for the run to my favourite little island only 20km off shore in my state here in Australia.
@@beaconoflight3225 Weekends on Rotto!
"What's up"? Take a wild guess!
Nice boat
Are the hatches on the flybridge safe to step on?
In the UK half of the boats value would be Taxes not good but beauty on the water❤
Fantastic little day fisher or overnighter. Price seems steep though.
Neat coastal cruiser. Can you address the concerns about the thin hull construction? I have seen some owners show videos about that.
Its thin but adequate. Benefit it keeps weight down but just don't ram anything hard. Other manufactures had thinner hulls without issue too. My experience: Boat salvager.
As long as you use the boat in the way it was designed and engineered for, I see no issue.
на кругосветку потянет или только прибрежное плавание ??
i sthis a river boat? if not, how is the boat in waves?
Ya, they are cool for their size but their cost is extremely high!~
They're awesome boats but they certainly charge a lot for them. Sorry I didn't cross paths with youth at trawlerfest!

so they have improved quality of hull? No more blistering/delam'?
Not so much as a minute on engine access. But the range is too short to be interesting anyway.
That narrow walkway thing ( I'm not a sailor) along the side of the boat looks like a man overboard situation to me especially at sea. Too narrow, no way.
Gee , I guess you forgot to mention or show the fly bridge lower is just canvas !
The reason for the canvas is to allow the entire flybridge to be lowered as it is hinged just as the mast is. This allows the clearance needed to tow the boat and get under bridges while being towed on the road.
@@happychildhood591 Cool.
Price????????????
Sell these boats in Door County, WI Lake Michigan or Milwaukee, WI or Chicago, IL.
Ranger tugs are beautiful boats. But I think they’re way overpriced for what they are.
How much?
Friends don't let friends get haircuts
For your commercial you should have dressed Randi up in an Ewok suit!
Missed opportunity for sure.
A haircut and shave!
Looks like a tiny baby ship😢
What a shame ,The Ranger range sucks.
waste of time and space
Stop with all the stupid and just wtf commercials with TB. Who cares.
Good crafts/ logical engineers
Great layout but ranger tugs have notoriously poor quality hulls , just saying
