    I thought for sure that Novak would win this match. That’s why when Rafael Nadal my wee Lhasa Apso insisted on going walkies when his namesake was 5-2 down in the fourth set l foolishly relented. I am a die hard Federer fan but I have grown in awe of this amazing human being over the years. His exploits at RG are extraordinary and recent adventure down under was magical. You just have to love this guy. My Lhasa Apso’s personality fits Rafa perfectly a mentality to fight against all the odds. Rafa was amazing during this match, he certainly learned from his heartbreaking loss against Nole in the '21 RG SF. But I also want to give credit to Nole, he saved 3 freakin' match balls, including an incredible return in the last one he saved, what a champion. Both legends.

    • @abelmourino5454
      @abelmourino5454 2 ปีที่แล้ว +21

      he didnt learn anything from 21´RG , he was limping coming out of the hotel before the match, and then got a surgery. The pain was unbearable. Today he was just missing some competition and rythm before the match, but when healthy, he is the most dominant player ever to exist, specially on clay, not even Djokovic can discuss that , even despite all the records ..Rafa > Djokovic when not facing physical problems ( that he had to endure all his career, because of the adaptation of his insoles, then then Knees, then the back...all related. He had to reinvent his game 3-4 times. Nole only had a shoulder issue , ONCE in his entire career). A healthy Rafa, would have easily come above 30 GS. But it is not we fans are unsatisfied. We are blessed to witness these 2 fighters clash once again along with Roger.

    • @ziberpc245
      @ziberpc245 2 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      @@antoniodada6009 Nadal except for the first 1.5 sets wasn’t that dominant and had by his standards in RG a mediocre game. However, Nole was subpar in all aspects of the game and only had short flashes of greatness even in that run of his in the 2nd set. He served poorly with easy to counter slow kick serves, tactically he made a lot of mistakes with ill-timed and badly executed drop shots, a lot of short balls and safely low-risk placed approach shots which you can’t do against Nadal, a very unreliable backhand which is maybe his most trusted shot and he also mismanaged almost all the crucial points of the match. He is still a fighter which is why despite his off day he pushed a not at his best Nadal (a lot of unforced errors himself) to his limits but he didn’t show up in this match as he should and deserved to lose. He looked like Nole of 2020 RG not the one of 2021.

      novak are always very strong defending his breaks and match points he is always so hard to break down in those moments and that´s why nadal used to have so much problem with novak from 2011-2018. however nadal has improved a lot in that as well and during this game he refused to let djokovic get an advantage in a game like 6 times straight. nadal has improved much more than djokovic in recent years alround that´s why he have a 6-4 lead against djokovic since 2018 we might be witnessing the best ever version of nadal now at age 35 which is crazy he might even be better than the once injury free pre 2011 nadal he conserves his energy better now and have better positioning now thanks to experience

      @@antoniodada6009 excuses. djokovic literally dominated nadal in 2nd set and 4th set, he was leadin 5-2 in 4th set when nadal turned on beast more and when they were 5-3 and nadal snatched djokovic serve to 5-4 was the most crucial part of the whole match nadal simply stepped up his game when it mattered. trust me if djokovic was not playing good nadal would´ve steamrolled him in straight sets 6-2 or 6-3 every set. novak also had more aces than nadal

    As a Djokovic fan before the game, I wrote that in case of such a match - two legends, tennis geniuses, who for more than a decade give us the most breathtaking and beautiful sensations we can dream of ( obviously plus Roger - his style of play is a classic of classics). TO NADAL THE GREATEST AND DEEPEST CONGRATULATIONS FROM THE BOTTOM OF MY HEART !!! NOW I'M KEEPING MY FINGERS CROSSED FOR THE FRENCH OPEN 2022 CUP TO GO TO YOUR HAND. YOU DESERVE THIS AS NO ONE ELSE - YOUR WONDERFUL GAME, BEAUTIFUL TENNIS - I WANT TO SAY A BIG THANK YOU !!! I won't pretend to be extremely happy, because I'm always heartbroken when Nole loses ... But I will get it back together again ... However, I think that we are extremely lucky that we had and have the opportunity to watch tennis, at a time when the best three of the greatest are playing in this beautiful sport. Nadal is right - together they have created a magnificent piece of history. I think that they appreciate it sometimes even more than some of the fan base. I don't know if you guys follow their " comments" that they post to each other before games. Those brief conversations of theirs speak for everything. The respect that they have for each other is enormous. It is often us fans and press that are looking for sensationalism. Well... Today my dear Nole got defeated ... I feel sad ( whenever he loses, my mood isn't one of the greatest). But having a chance to watch such a tennis I can sum up in only one way. I sincerely appreciate, say thank you and I wish all the best !!! Keep playing as long as possible!!! Greetings to you all sincerely :-)

      The best comment I've read to a Nole fan. I understand your disgust after Nole's defeat but you shouldn't be, as he always showed that he has that level that only the gods of tennis reach, his backhand is from another planet. Today it's his turn but as a fan of Rafa I know that these matches can only be enjoyed, because we will never know which one will be the last. To the radical fans of one or the other (I also include the federer fans) talking about a goat at the level these three are and even having more GS than their opponents seems to me to be disrespectful and short-sighted.

    • @daisy92204
      @daisy92204 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@lacoronasl Thank you for this comment, and most of all for trying to comfort me :-) I too have never been able to understand this G.O.A.T. title fight. After all, all of us fans root for a particular fighter for personal reasons and the kind of fighter qualities he possesses. The level of play the whole i.e. BIG 3 represents is unearthly. But I also think that each of them reached their highest level just by the constant need to compete with the other two. So I don't know if they would go down in history as much if it wasn't for the matches they played against each other. And going back to choosing a player, I think everyone chose a particular player because of his character. Style of play is one thing, but for someone to evoke emotion in us, there has to be a certain emotional connection. We often look for qualities in our idols that we don't have or that we need to work on. For me, Nole is the best, because the moments when he starts to get it together and comes out of a 2:0 loss are amazing. His matches often cost me a lot of mental effort, because I have pretty weak resistance to stress. And his composure and style as they sometimes say "silent killer" is for me the peak of mental endurance. Of course there are moments, when Nole also collapses and can't cope with emotions. But overall I love his let's say "chess" style of play. He is constantly thinking and processing throughout the game. To me, treating tennis as a tactical game is wonderful. And the other thing that makes him my personal number 1 is his courage in saying out loud what he thinks. He touches on difficult subjects, but I've never heard him make a statement that outraged me personally. He fought to find a missing Chinese tennis player, he does amazing things in his foundation and he sticks to his principles no matter the circumstances. I, too, after Dr. Walensky's (Phaizer's director) hearing before the U.S. Congress in November, had no doubt that I did not want to get vaccinated.

    • @daisy92204
      @daisy92204 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@lacoronasl I don't want to touch on the assessment of Djokovic's behavior in Australia in any way here. Everyone has the opportunity to check all the information about vaccines. Below I just provide a link to the hearing I described above. It may be of interest to someone - th-cam.com/video/QabAtYBnqro/w-d-xo.html But I am getting off topic. Overall - Nole embodies some character traits that I find priceless. Federer also certainly triggers the most beautiful emotions in his fans. For me his tennis is magic and his style of play is one of a kind - I don't know a tennis player who plays the toughest matches in the world with such grace, lightness and his own personal elegance. But I don't feel any particular emotion that makes my heart beat like crazy when it's the decisive moment of the match. But I am sure that his fans have that emotion and they love and support him for that.

    • @lacoronasl
      @lacoronasl 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@daisy92204 Well, I haven't been vaccinated either, but I understand that if a country has certain requirements, since I'm not from there, I can't skip them. That said, the world doesn't end by not going to a GS either.
      In reference to the dependence they have on each other to overcome and win again, I agree. Rafa in particular began to look Roger in the eye little by little until she beat him in WB and AUS and snatched the number 1 from him. I remember that Federer cried, but far from kneeling, he came back stronger to win the only RG from him. When Federer's level dropped a bit, Nole appeared and it was another big boost for him. The most impressive thing is how with Nole dominating the circuit and Roger and Rafa with a low level due to injuries, they returned in a big way in 2017, and that is due to that hunger to be the best, they push each other. We will not see anything like it again, so enjoy the matches in which they coincide, that level of tennis can only be achieved by them. All the best.

That's double 2 3 4 5 6 10 of all tennis players ever just in this tournament You know how hard it is to win year after year after year to rehearse the good ability every year anew In front of the best players ever !!!!!!! And I will not start talking about Wimbledon US Open 4 times Australia Monte Carlo 11 times Rome Barcelona Olympics and what not And doing it at 36 with leg pain

    Trolls spoke about conditions, a straight sets defeat, retirement talk, last match in his living room, Novak to teach Rafa a lesson, he won AO cause Novak wasn’t there and when he did show up here, he overstayed his welcome. The more excuses Novak fan boys conjure here, the more the motivation for Rafa to keep fighting until the end.
    Moral of the story “From limping in Rome to a unseen 🧐fourteenth at home” 🏆 🏆 🏆 🏆🏆🏆🏆🏆🏆🏆🏆🏆🏆🏆 #22

      Yes the above are true, he won AO becauee Novak was not there, that is true, but in RG roles are reversed since his play is the most suited to it.
      But i would add that Novak had vry big number of errors today for his level ao today, the accuracy if Novak for his level was off.
      Pn your point though AO and RG are dofferent cases. About the rest they are not like you write, Nadal is in great shape and he has been as has Novak in the past months although they required a dew games for form.

      @Pritesh-EPM, if you've read the comment section more closely, you would have understood, that all those arguments
      came from Nadal supporters. I was really surprised by that. Then I wrote that I think it is his strategy, to give Djokovic the
      impression that he will face a tired and ill Nadal. I think the latter is a very good manipulator because he has done that
      many times over the years. Allways when he lost, there came a statement of his health issue.
      This sport is not fair anymore, as it was in the 70ies through the 90ies. Those times are over. Today it is a sport where
      players go over dead bodies, because of the enormous sums to be won.
      I saw the entire match and it makes me sad to see what it has become. Exchanging balls from the baseline until the other
      makes a mistake. Not very nice to watch.
