After 2nd set a friend called me in the pause, I said I'm certain Djokovic will win even if he loses 3d set because I could se how much energy Alcaraz was spending, running so much and with such intencity in the sun. Djokovic made him rush left and right and run for drop shots allot. All this was too much for the boddy.

Oh shit, they forgot to arrest him again. The GOAT does what the GOAT does... No1e you are the pride of Serbia. The best athlete in history. God bless you
When I look back at this match, I can't help geting the impression that although Carlos had a problem of a psychological nature, when you look at the incredible intensity of his shots, Djokovic forced him to play at least 10 shots in every point which would have been winners against any other player on the tour, for all that he had to sprint like crazy from one to other corner of the field, add to that an uncertain result and tension, cramps were inevitable
If it weren't for those cramps this encounter could've been one of the best matches this season... Huge respect on Alcaraz for not throwing the towel and giving that day every last chance..!
Mate, there is a boundary that human body can suffer before it collapses. Unlike Alkaraz Novak didnt play hardest he can from the beginning because he was saving his strength. Thats the reason why match was balanced in first 2 sets. Alkaraz is a good player, but not on the level that Djokovic is. Maybe he will be in the future, but for now he is simply too unexperienced and lack stamina.
I'm a huge Djokovic fan but I thought Alcaraz was going to win based on form and age. Eventually age will happen and I thought this was the time. I was surprised that Djokovic won the first set and that he had the power to take it back to Alcaraz, especially on the forehand crosscourt. After the second set I thought Djokovic would pull it out. They were too even for it to be Alcaraz' time. NOW I think Djokovic will win Wimbledon. I don't think Alcaraz will get to the final on grass. The US Open could be very interesting this year.
They played in such an insane way..... They hit the ball with so powerful and smooth movements that you could not even see in a videogame!!! And Novak is not human at all!
lol! That's not Djokovic. Different shoes. Djokovic in fact 2-3 times got booed because he was celebrating with a roar when he won points after Carlos' injury. No wonder he never won a sportsmanship award in his career.
@@my8osprive I know I just thought it was funny🤣. Stopped watching it live and then looked back and was like, "why is Djokovic giving Alcaraz a massage?"
I was watching the match at Philippe chatrier live, and both men were struggling at the end of the 2nd set under very hot conditions. Nole being more experienced took a nice long break at the end of the 2nd set, cold shower, fresh clothes, and came back after a good 5 minute break. Carlos on the other hand stayed in the sun and on court, and paid for it. The more experienced senior knew how to turn it around by just catching his breath and after that, it was just a matter of letting alcaraz run through his emotions.
Hi man...could you please tell me how much tickets kosts? And...is there any people on the front who selling the tickets? I come at Sunday anyway but good to know...👋
This could easily be the greatest match in RG history if only Carlos didnt got injury, level and power shown from both in those 2 sets was mind blowing!
Better win them all this year while he can, cos next year Nadal's gonna come back in his final farewell year and win all 4 grand slams and retire on 26 GS. Which will leave Djoko needing at least 2 in 2025 to beat Rafa, which will be tough as he'll be suffering injuries like Federer and Nadal did, and players like Alcaraz will have learned by then that drinking water is a good idea to stop cramps! lol I hope Novak wins the final on Sunday as I bet him at the start of the tournament as I couldn't believe he wasn't favourite to win with Rafa out injured. I got good odds because the bookies had Alcaraz as 5/4 Fav, Djokovic 5/2. Alcaraz is really good but to put him above a 22 time GS winner seemed a tad silly. Now I just hope Novak doesn't screw up the final against Ruud like he did back when he lost to Wawrinka in the final
Two of my three favourite tennis players (the other being Rafa). I always stated that Novak was the favourite to win, even if slightly, and even though Carlitos had the weapons to beat him. Still, Novak is Novak, the GOAT and a true brutal force. What Carlitos experienced today, Nole himself experienced hundreds of times, and then he overcame everything. Carlitos will surely learn from this 'cause he has the mentality and honesty to do that. Right now, the present belongs to Novak Djokovic slam-wise. Amazing inspiration.
There is only one God of tennis and his name is Novak Dkojovic. When Alcaraz wins 22 GS, wins all the Masters and is number 1 for 350 weeks, ONLY THEN can it be said that he is close to the God of tennis.
@Senso Sinner and Rune have so much talent themselves but I do think they lack that special streak Alcaraz has. The lost 3 of Zverev, Tsitsipas and Rublev are doubtful to ever win many slams if any, even though they're successful outside of them. Medvedev is very good but not an all-court player and Ruud is pretty much the same but lacks the steady mind of Medvedev.
@Senso There is NO "Big 3", but only BIG ONE, his Name is Novak Djokovic. Big One beacause 388 weeks Nr.1 ( Nadal only 207, Pederer only 310) , Novak wins ALL 9 masters 1000, Nadal and Pederer only 7. The REAL Goat ist Novak. END of discoussion !
Exactly! Alcaraz is good but far from the greatest. When you can play like this for 20 years then you are GOD. I was never fan of Djokovic but now I am. It cant be different!
I don't think you understand the game.... its not like his calf just cramped out of nowhere. Alcaraz is playing like a car being pushed to its limit, 8000 rpm revs... eventually it will blow. Novak has learnt to cruise between 4,000 and 6000 revs and not blow his engine. Carlos will learn from this and improve, but he was never going to beat novak over a 5 hour match at RG. His style is too demanding and his body is not yet ready. Even if he hadn't cramped then, he would have cramped at some point. Djoko is the master of controlled aggression, deep hitting, pace redirection and energy conservation. Alcaraz is not yet flexible enough nor does he know when to leave balls. He is a heavy mover, sprinting for every ball, hitting every ball as hard as he can. He tires himself out. If you have ever played tennis, you will know how tiring it is to hit every single serve as hard as you can, and hitting 90 moh forehand every time when your opponent (ie Novak) is just easily using your pace back at you or hitting slower balls back to you. It is not sustainable. Novak will end his career with at least 24 or 25 majors (another Aus and 2 Wimbledons) BUT Alcaraz will have an amazing career once he matures & learns to conserve energy & work on his fitness
What injury? It is no coincidence there is no break allowed to treat cramps. It just comes down to physical conditioning in a Grand Slam 3/5 sets, for which Djokovic is better prepared and he duly won. And I love Carlos.
You could feel the stress level Alcaraz had since the beginning of the match. With that and the running and the hit = cramps. Every tennis player knows that. He'll learn to relax
As a alcaraz fan congratulation to djokovic even alzaraz had the injury he prove another time that is a true champion . And for alcaraz im sure he will win this tournament in the future
He wasn't injured, his body couldn't cope with the heat and endless Đoković attacks. He is good player and has no weaknesses like Nadal (serve) or Federer (backhand) that Djokovic can exploit that's why he is a threat
sportsmanship? The one who fakes arm injuries and when he's lost goes to the shower and leaves the players cold, is he a cheat and a clown, and when Alcaraz is injured he makes drop shot? sportsmanship?
@@pol3786 alcaraz IS NOT injured. he got cramps. cramps come from the mind or from dehydration. don't hate ,appreciate it, if alcaraz doesn't hate why do you? truth and love
Alcaraz unloaded all his force on tsitsipas. Can’t win against Nole with mid level condition. His play style is very aggressive but against a juggernaut like Nole you have to be prepared for 6 hours of tennis. Nole is basically a marathon runner who can do that until he is 45.
Bruh what are u even talking about ? He let all his force against tsitsipas ? The only reason he played like he played against stefanos is because he played shit, no backhand, no return no depth what so ever, no mentality. And the reason he didn’t played his best today is because Novak didn’t let him play his best, because of his unbelievable return, precise sirve and crazy shot depth, also the mentally and fitness.

@@my8osprive How long was that 2nd set? Go back and watch the semi-finals of AO 2012 and 2013. It was Novak v Federer and Novak won both in 4 sets. Watch what happened - 1st set went to Novak. Second set went to Fed in a long and protracted fight. Then Novak ran away with the 3rd and 4th because Fed was out of gas after the 2nd. it was the SECOND set that took him out each time.
Why not show the breakpoint at 5-5 all 40 -A points for Djokovic, when he missed an easy cross court backhand? 😮😮😮Hidden agenda not to show how close Djokovic was to Serve for the second set?? That was one of the most important points of the second set
@@John-ii4si maybe slows down for us open, but I don’t see him losing Australian open next year, nor the Wimbledon next year, maybe we’ll see that he will not win like in 3 sets, maybe it will be harder for him because of the age, but I think he can get to 26 or 27 by the age he retires.
What you in the West have not yet understood: Novak wins because he is more intelligent than all tennis players. He wins with his head, because he knows exactly how to play with the opponent, what are his weak points.
Can we please stop making this an East-West-thing? Observing and exploiting your opponent's weaknesses is something every good player in every sport does. Novak didn't invent the concept. Yes, he's special, but primarily in other ways.
Alcaraz has got raw talent. And he's doing great for a 20 yr old young man. His all around game needs to be honed and his mental strength developed to Nadals level. I hope his coaches see that. And they need to give him tactics. This defeat can be the blueprint for them to start working on that.
To beat Djokovic you should be able to go toe to toe with him in fitness, much like Nadal, or outhit him with flat shots with minimal unforced errors. Both will be really hard in a 5 set grand slam match. I hope Alcaraz finds a way to diminish these cramps.

Running in the sun? Really? What if it was AO sun? It was purely psychological
Australia is the hottest, humid, and foggy weather on the planet. Compared to the climate in Melbourne or Brisbane, this is nothing. Carlos has to improve his nutrition considerably from here on. Hire a Specialist that helps him adapt to those conditions and go from there.

I love the dynamic tennis of Alcaraz vs the chess style of tennis by Djokovic. 2 sets of pure tennis between the two.
Novak played this game differently... way more dynamic and more aggressive.
Alcaraz play style is at very high injury risk level. It was just matter of time when this will happen.
no its not. and it was no injury. he is just fast and has a lot of talent. see how well he played in 4th set again. he was not injured. if you cramp and its 31 degrees and you already play for 3h.. you resign if you are really injured

At 36 years old, more fit than a 20 year-old... Amazing performance
If you don't play your best, this will happen every time against Djokovic.
But at the same time, if he plays his best, you automatically cant play your best hahahaha, so you are fucked up either way.
It would likely happen even if you play your best.

Mate, there is a boundary that human body can suffer before it collapses. Unlike Alkaraz Novak didnt play hardest he can from the beginning because he was saving his strength.

Never underestimate Novak!
Good points, plus his sublime, almost legendary fitness. Beating this man on slams is one of the hardest things in all sports.
I noticed that too. Seemed very arrogant from Alcaraz, but I knew Nole is going to teach him a lesson after this

25 slams by end of year. The GOAT debate will be put an end to with a thunderous full stop in just several months. Get ready.
Better win them all this year while he can, cos next year Nadal's gonna come back in his final farewell year and win all 4 grand slams and retire on 26 GS. Which will leave Djoko needing at least 2 in 2025 to beat Rafa, which will be tough as he'll be suffering injuries like Federer and Nadal did, and players like Alcaraz will have learned by then that drinking water is a good idea to stop cramps! lol
I hope Novak wins the final on Sunday as I bet him at the start of the tournament as I couldn't believe he wasn't favourite to win with Rafa out injured.
@@samking2094 Nadal not gonna win jack. I doubt he will even come back and if he does he won't get ANY more slams. He's done.

One of the Most brutal Tennis plays ive Seen best 2 Players onnthis earth ball
Two of my three favourite tennis players (the other being Rafa). I always stated that Novak was the favourite to win, even if slightly, and even though Carlitos had the weapons to beat him. Still, Novak is Novak, the GOAT and a true brutal force. What Carlitos experienced today, Nole himself experienced hundreds of times, and then he overcame everything. Carlitos will surely learn from this 'cause he has the mentality and honesty to do that. Right now, the present belongs to Novak Djokovic slam-wise. Amazing inspiration.
Novak is a legend! The machine !
There is only one God of tennis and his name is Novak Dkojovic. When Alcaraz wins 22 GS, wins all the Masters and is number 1 for 350 weeks, ONLY THEN can it be said that he is close to the God of tennis.
Even then he will not have to constantly face two legends as main opponents
@Senso Sinner and Rune have so much talent themselves but I do think they lack that special streak Alcaraz has. The lost 3 of Zverev, Tsitsipas and Rublev are doubtful to ever win many slams if any, even though they're successful outside of them. Medvedev is very good but not an all-court player and Ruud is pretty much the same but lacks the steady mind of Medvedev.
Alcaraz beat Novak in 2022 Madrid 😂 Alcaraz is the new goat. Only lost today because of cramp
Beautifull, brillante, novak, what a match!!
Ну класс, красивый теннис
That injury was heartbreaking, whole different ending if that didnt happen. Love seeing him play

What a sensational player Djokovic is.
