Hideki's been off the grid for awhile now, which leads me to believe there will be an announcement forthcoming shortly of him joining LIV and having his own team with Jinichiro Kozuma from Japan on it, who qualified for LIV via the promotions event two weeks ago.
Mr Bodo...agree 100% Also a Korean team....Top golf markets in the world would be then covered...I think PIF will walk away from clown show PGAT..$1 billion would get them Japanese and Korean teams
Yes. Now add Koshino and Ishino. South Korean team would be wise but presents a thorny issue regarding 2 year military obligation which must be fulfilled before 35th birthday. Currently only Olympic gold medalist are exempt. Kim tried to get an exemption based on tour players championship but was denied.
@@1362pc Agree, but didn't he also play in the LIV Promotions event? Would be a bad look to sign a player a player from that event who wasn't good enough to finish Top 3 to be part of a Hideki owned and led Japanese team. I think what's going to happen is that LIV will let Hideki hand select two players to fill out his team outside of Kozuma - similar to what they're letting Rahm do. He recently hand picked a player from Spain I'd never heard of to be on his team. That's the direction the league is heading. Once all the franchises have title and seondary sponsors, team golf will look very similar to professional cycling, where it becomes a free market as to the players each club or team signs. There will be no draft or qualifying events. There will even be developmental teams at the next level down where guys get promoted from and sent down to. It's completely counterintuitive to how things have traditionally been in professional golf, but I think it's a good alternative to indivdual stroke play leagues and competition.
Hypocrite....wants to ban anyone on LIV from association with Ryder Cup in 2023, but when Rahm commits to LIV, Rory wants Ryder Cup to change rules to allow LIV players.
I think it’s more a contractual issue - majors, PGATour events, long term sponsors with current TV distribution - thru like 2028. Guessing…LIV would either have to buyout those contracts or hope the peoples involved, want out now and willing to break or renegotiate them. Which seems to be playing out as ratings for PGAT are falling off a cliff (even when Tiger plays). IMO…LIV was never the devil…they were the instigator, needed, in exposing the major crack’s & weaknesses of PGAT management. …for years the players were poorly represented, undervalued, underpaid…getting a raw deal.
Once the "Tour", (Jack and Arnie) deprived the PGA to enrich themselves, the downward slide was well underway. Tiger stirred the pot but the fire is quickly going out as LIV pulls the wood out from underneath. I generally watch the last 9 on Sunday while I will watch all of LIV.
LIV is a different format...Cricket is now a tens of $billion sport because of mew formats that suit the public....All pro sport is in the entertainment industry...LIV gets that...
72 (4x18 hole shotgun starts) is the absolute most players they can have on LIv and keep the current format. currently there is 48 players on the current 12 teams plus the 3 golden ticket winners and Rahm..20 we see 13 teams in 2024...Moving forward, Liv can expand to 18 teams...thats another 20 player they can bring in to the existing system. An interesting thought, what if they expanded to 2 x shotguns starts...one in the morning one in the afternoon...the mind boggles??? 4 man groups though..is that a thing in pro golf tounrnys...3 works, but is 4 a crowd?
I think they could (and eventually will) pull off double shotguns, which would allow them to pack the course all day long… putting more players in a tournament than the PGA Tour can running 1st and 10th tee starts.
If the majors ignore and don't invite LIV players going forward, they would eventually loose their status as "majors" because they won't have the top players in the field...as simple as that. So I think not having a major in your bag yet shouldn't be such a big issue. Golf needs a non-PGA affiliated, independent objective ranking system that will rate players according to ability and not affiliation...
Its not difficult to see the collusion/corruption involved with the OWGR board....the majors must make a decision, given the criminal decisions the OWGR board have made
Love your channel. I am a huge LIV fan absolutely love it. I watch it as much for the golf talent as I do for the characters, the Bryson antics, brooks eye roll, the Tyrrells of the world losing it, the Dustin Johnson swagger, the passion of Rahm the list goes on. I haven’t watched a PGAT event since LIV started up just not interested.
@@ThinkingManShow love the team aspect you have both don’t you. You have the individual battles as well. Crushers fan got a photo with Bryson down in Adelaide last year. Going back this year as well.
not sure 1 player can do it, but multiple players should. If Rahm pulls 3 players for his team, and 4 more go for 1 more team, that should do it. Kind of like pga pulling top 10 from dpwt every year.
@ mike, so Hatton, Ricky and Jason cannot go……but what about Tommy Fleetwood?…I do believe he has moved to Dubai recently, what do the thinkers think?🤔
We like the odds on Fleetwood going. He is a little young at 32 to not worry about qualifying for Majors though. That’s probably why he hasn’t accepted a LIV offer already. Tyrrell also 32. Both those guys would be high probability recruits if they were 35-36 instead. How friendly are they with Poulter?
Every time rory misses a putt he does that little hand jester like theres no way it goes that way and i missed it hate that. Internation team ? Based on race ?
Jon Rahm could have some pull on some other euro players. Justin Rose, Hattin maybe Fleetwood or Lowry. Just looking over the owgr. LIV has the better line up at this point. I think you're right about Speith being the main name left.
NO, LiV doesnt have a better line-up. Based on what? Just because there are more known names there and has won majors in the past, doesnt mean they are better players. Since 2021 there are 7 major winners playing in the PGA and 5 winners from LIV. Rankings of LIV players pre joining LIV (since you think the best is playing there): Cameron Smith 2 Jon Rahm 3 Dustin Johnson 13 Brooks Koepka 19 Joaquin Niemann 19 Louis Oosthuizen 20 Abraham Ancer 20 Paul Casey 27 Bryson DeChambeau. 29 Jason Kokrak 32 Kevin Na 33 Talor Gooch 35 Harold Varner III 42 Patrick Reed 38 Sergio Garcia 54 Cameron Tringale 55 Marc Leishman 63 Richard Bland 66 Matt Jones 68 Graeme McDowell 374 Phil Mickelson 71 Sam Horsfield 72 Lee Westwood 74 Matthew Wolff 77 Bubba Watson 86 Ian Poulter 89 Bernd Wiesberger 90 Hudson Swafford 91 Anirban Lahiri 91 Scott Vincent 109 Brendan Steele 122 Branden Grace 118 Thomas Pieters 40 Carlos Ortiz 119 Charl Schwartzel 120 Chase Koepka 1301 Sihwan Kim 164 Pat Perez 168 Charles Howell III 171 Henrik Stenson 171 Danny Lee 267 Martin Kaymer 210 Mito Pereira 45 Peter Uihlein 311 Sebastian Munoz 93 Dean Burmester 83 73 Eugenio Chacarra 3124 Jediah Morgan 239 James Piot 1751 David Puig 183 5
Eligibility to play in majors can be a full stop for many tour players not joining liv…at this time. Rahm…has like 5+ yr exemption to all majors due to his recent past performance - hence, a no-brainer for him to sign 3 yr deal with LIV. Most top 100 tour players are handcuffed until the world ranking points, for LIV performance, are established…if at all. Jordan Spieth (my guess) would, in a heartbeat, due to married with children, love to work less & make more (LIV Tour).
Am wondering how much Phil plays into the Go….No Go….on players. Him n Greg probably get together overall filet migon’ n whiskey sours. Go over the list. 😅
2 more players I think Greg should go after for strategic reasons.... Nick Taylor and Haotong Li. First with Nick... Defend RBC Canadian Open champion... Signing with LIV would force the PGA to cave when the tournament officials will absolutely have their defending champion who is also Canadian play, no matter what Jay says Nick would ve invited to play. Now with Haotong... First Liv needs a Chinese player, just like they need a Canadian with Nick. Now imagine Haotong on the iron heads in place of Siwan Kim or Scott Vincent... Easily makes them competitive every week.
Strategically speaking, Liv does not "need" a Canadian player bc the market is not big enough. As a Canadian it's understandable that you would want to see a Canadian player on Liv. And it may come to pass but not for strategic reasons. Li is an entirely different story. The Chinese market is potentially huge and currently untapped. Liv would be wise to offer a Chinese team/franchise in the near future. I can see lots of Chinese billionaires and there are lots of them lining up for the same reason the Saudis have invested in golf...elite corporate access.
What BS...,Norman is an innovator who for decades wanted to see a global tour...He created LIV which is simply a tour that competes with US tour globally....the US tour spent a decade plus destroying other global tours, including the Euro tour, which is a disgrace...more than 50% of golf fans live outside the US but the PGAT planned to have a monopoly that top pro golf would only be in America....wrong on every level
Hey thinking men! Love your episodes but am more entertained by your strategic thoughts. In "If Rahm goes..." you took the position that a PIF deal was inevitable. Please consider the opposite scenario. Assume the PGAT has negotiated in bad faith and solicited a for-profit deal with the American sports billionaire consortium (or whatever you want to call them.) An entity that did not exist prior to the PGAT/PIF "agreement". Your PIF/LIV and you have been denied, again, a seat at THE table. Now, what are the next three moves PIF/LIV takes toward reaching their supposed objective (elite corporate access)??? Thanks for your consideration.
Great! Since you're strategizing, consider this premise: Most golf fans assume that the only way LIV players (i.e. those who are not already eligible) can gain access to the majors is via OWGR points. Understandable, given all the attention this issue has generated. However, this is a false assumption. There is another way. Every major has a clause in their eligibility/qualification rules that gives them the right to offer "special exemptions". (A practice used for decades. Nicklaus got 8 of them!) In other words, the aristocratic majors can invite anybody they damn well choose. Now, juxtapose this fact with the recent public announcement that the R&A has entered into an agreement with "Saudi Golf" for "future projects" AND a "substantial increase" in The Open purse. (PIF/LIV/Saudi Golf are one in the same.) What do you think they got for such a generous deal? I submit, in reality, that they just bought access into a major for some of their players. Now, who's next? (As you know the tours have no ownership in any of the majors.) "No way! They won't do it. Impossible." you say. Why not? Oh, I forgot, the PGA of America and the USGA have had such a contentious-free, wonderful relationship with the PGAT it is unthinkable. Even if such a strategic action would conveniently side-step all the controversy. After all, money can't buy into an aristocracy. Excepting Augusta (for various reasons)----can you foresee maybe 6-12 special exemptions......if the price is right? Lastly. If the second important objective of a LIV player is to play in the Ryder Cup this can easily be achieved. DPT and PGA of America just need an incentive to add three simple words to their eligibility rules...."or former member". Now, what could that incentive be? I look forward to your thoughts. PS: It always takes time for an aristocracy to recognize the difference between a rebellion and a revolution.@@ThinkingManShow
Rahm was the international guy. Scheffler is the American guy. That’s it for the pga tour. Rahm has made it ok for everyone else. The floodgates are going to open after the deal falls apart. Monahan is dead man walking.
Aberg has already earned half of the amount you believe could sway his decision about not joining the LIV tour, through prize money and other sources of income. It's unrealistic to think that someone who has been granted a Ryder Cup appearance, triumphed on the DP World Tour, and achieved a victory on the PGA tour-all as a result of receiving the first wild card to the PGA tour as the top college player-would be easily swayed. He has accomplished all this in just six months. (There's a chance he could become the top player with an unprecedented first-year performance.) He might even clinch the Masters... Such a milestone in golf history holds far greater value than the "peanut money" you're referring to. Remember, he's playing to secure his legacy in golf history, not merely for the money. (He is going to make more than enough of those anyway.) Furthermore, he would never betray those to whom he feels indebted. Believe me, you seem to have a limited understanding of Swedish collective culture and its impact on loyalty. He's committed to the PGA tour, intent on challenging the most esteemed tournaments in the golfing world, regardless of other offers. With that said. Things change but if we are talking about the next couple of years. No way Aberg goes to the LIV tour as it all stands today. The LIV tour has to be an accepted event for him to go that route.
There have been 3 guys in the last 4 years who accomplished more in a shorter period of time at a younger age (Wolff, Higgo, T Kim) You never know in pro golf
Its simple....if you have 150 players in the field you need a 36 hole cut, so thats thurs and Friday....with no cut, 54 holes is all thats required, and LIV have proved it gives exciting finishes...no one watches Thurs play...
If I think about Scottie Sheffler or Jon Rahm I can see them in contention to win any tournament they enter. Spieth doesn't enter my mind that way at all. He won the Masters in 2012. He's likable and I certainly pull for him but in the past few years he just seems to fall short at the finish line. Zander is also a grinder who will fight to the last hole to try and win. Nope, Jordan is not the guy who is the keystone for the PGAT.
@@1362pc I agree. He gives them more cred with the European contingent but he doesn't have a Major under his belt to get in the biggest legacy tournaments.
What value does Tiger bring any more? No morals. Can't golf. Egomaniac, Out for only himself. I see no value in that person for any tour, especially LIV.
Not as many as you think. He's done man. LIV is about young people, the younger generation. LIV isn't marketing to old white guys, the PGA still is@@Leroy-df3ee
I tune out especially when Tiger is in the field, its sickening to hear all about how wonderful he is and you hear nothing of the leaders, but then again I stopped watching pga when they all bashed LIV, pga is not any better than LIV and sadly america is no better than the saudis, and we ALL support liv and saudis with our cars and gas and oil, and many more things.!
Under the tentative agreement with the Saudis, if they ratify that, the PGA and Saudis together will own a new company (with the PGA controlling a majority of the board) which will own LIV. So it would be in the PGA's best interest to be OK with some of their players, even Jon going to LIV, because frankly so far it is a fizzle. You can count the ways it can be improved.
Are you delusional? So you think the Saudis will bring billions to to table, save the PGA, and then let the PGA control everything? Never in a million years. You are forgetting the entire premise of LIV and Greg and Phil, and thats to destroy the PGA. Its happening if front of your eyes
Here is the NYTimes explanation of the agreement: "The PGA Tour would remain a nonprofit organization and would retain full control over how its tournaments are played. But all of the PGA Tour’s commercial business and rights - such as the extremely lucrative rights to televise its tournaments - would be owned by a new, yet unnamed, for-profit entity that is currently called “NewCo.” NewCo will also own LIV as well as the commercial and business rights of the DP World Tour. The board of directors for the new for-profit entity would be led by Yasir al-Rumayyan, who is the governor of the Public Investment Fund and also oversees LIV. Three other members of the board’s executive committee would be current members of the PGA Tour’s board, and the tour would appoint the majority of the board and hold a majority voting interest, effectively controlling it."
What is going on with Ogilvie? I think that's his last name. Young player who benefited greatly from playing on LIV, big time. I think he would be floundering under the PGA System or Mill as in running them through the mill!
Rooting for Andy. Ogletree was the third Georgia Tech player to win the US Amateur, joining Bobby Jones (five times) and Matt Kuchar. He was low amateur at the Masters and finished T34.
@@ThinkingManShow Yes, I forgot how his name was spelled! LIV worked out very well for him. I think he won one of the DP tour events and then came back and filled in on the LIV tour afterwards.
I could be wrong on this take, but Morikawa comes across to me like he's a little full of himself. He gave me this impression before, but in the Full Swing documentary when they're doing a skit and the Bob from office space is interviewing them for potential employment if the whole golf thing doesn't work out. All the other golfers like Spieth for example used it to self deprecate, but Colin almost seemed genuinely offended by it and he's the only who felt the need to mention his degree... it kind of rubbed me the wrong way... but to be fair I could be completely wrong on this take, but he seems a little stuck up.
Rahm was that guy. The problem with the PGA and the PGA-loyalists, is that they think golf revolves around Tiger, Rory, Spieth and JT...golf is way more than them I assure you. How I see it...Rham gets his own team so another 3 players needed to fill his team. But that will make it 13 teams, so at least 4 more players will be needed to make up the 14th team (I'm hoping they will make it 16 teams or even 18). Thus a min of 7 players have to join soon. Think one has to keep in mind some Ryder Cup team mates of Jon, and colorful players with huge following from the US like Max and Ricky, and then 2 Ausies maybe to take the 2 spots on Cam's team. Anyway, in my opinion I hope that 7 players will come from the following 10 names: (1) TONY FINAU (2) TYRRELL HATTON (3) XANDER SCHAUFFELE (4) JASON DAY (5) RICKIE FOWLER (6) MAX HOMA (7) VIKTOR HOVLAND (8) RYAN FOX (9) ADRIAN MERONK (10) TOMMY FLEETWOOD

Spieth? I don't know anyone who gives a flying fuck about Spieth. Spieth had a magic putter for a couple of years a long time ago, but the magic putter is long gone. Now Spieth is just an average PGA Tour pro. JT is in bad form right now and there is no reason to believe he will recover. If your business plan depends upon Spieth and JT, time to sell short. Are you laying the ground work for your bets on Europe in the next Ryder Cup just like this year?
Is the real question how can the PGA Tour survive? Whats up with Fenway Sports and 10 other Mega investors when a total net income potential used to be 3 Billion plus annually (as reported in other podcasts) is or was on the table. The players chose to play golf rather than use their power to take control of their future, To late now to change? Dinosaurs are gone but not forgotten. Major Players, Major Sponsors, and a Mass of Fans have moved on. What the fans know already is that the media market for entertainment for golf will at the most be lackluster. The old school thinking and codependent actions by Ed's (Hulihey) law firm failed to realize they are up against an endless supply of money and a well schooled top financial wizard the whole of Saudi Arabia has chosen as the best mind in the nation to spend their money. They either know not what to do or the surprise how to save the PGA tour will be mind boggling. I fear the players that remain at the PGA Tour will pay another steep price. It is still important to know the truth has not and may not ever be revealed regardless of the relentless efforts of podcasts like these by people who are seriously trying to get some answers. Thank God for that! We in the US are no longer the command centers telling the world what they have to do and how to do. With growth comes change. Lead, follow, or get out of the way. In the alternative Obi Won Kanobi (Phil Mickleson) probably, based on his prior knowledge and leaks would make for a great interview if anyone could now afford it.
Morikawa is American not International. Hideki would be international. It’s like saying Finau is International and would be on a Samoan/Tongan team Or if JT or someone had Irish ethnicity, would you say he’s International and put him on Rory’s team? Sahith is American but would be International and be on Anirban team?
The concept of the PGA Tour being a "feeder" for LIV is the ultimate insult. "Family" pressure (being at home more and more often but having a bigger take-home pay without the stress) is a considerable factor. Happy wife, happy life. The actual linch-pin would be the golden boys club going over to LIV. Sheffler, Speith and Hovland. The PGA Tour was "started" by Jack and Arnie to ensure more money for them and other "draws", Charitable foundation? Robber barons and depriving the masses (PGA pros) of their daily bread. Nice.
Speith and Schoeffler are very religious. They would NEVER take dirty money. They’d start their own academy and raise their children. Not interested in clubbing in Dubai like DJ and Brooks. Know your audience please
In your opinion then Mac, Spieth and Scheffler will not play in Newco world super tour events because of their religious views. Are we understanding you correctly?
@@ThinkingManShow what’s Newco? Today they announced the company will be PGA TOUR ENTERPRISES with SSG as a huge investor. Jay Monahan as CEO. They said MAYBE there will be a PIF at some point. Wow, that sounds promising lol. PGA Tour found another investor SSG of American billionaires who want to grow the PGA TOUR brand that’s been around for 100 years. So apparently the Saudis aren’t buying golf and Jay isn’t being fired. America, what a concept. I thought Jay was DOA and powerless you said as you smiled at yourself with glee. Sounds like Jay and Jimmy found another investor besides PIF. PIF isn’t the only billionaire in town. Will Reed be at the US OPEN this year. Ahh thinking probably not. You follow?
Thanks Mac - why so snarky? Different ideas and opinions are ok. We aim to be rational and polite here. "Glee" no - we think Jay Monahan is incompetent in his role, has handled the LIV challenge as badly as a business leader could, and should be fired. Many players feel exactly the same. If SSG is wanting to go it alone with their capital, that would surprise us as they would be risking PIF continuing to fund LIV Golf for as long as they choose and therefore continue to be a compelling option for the top young amateurs 18-22 years old (like a Caleb Surratt) especially amateurs growing up in Spain, Australia, South Africa and Europe. How can that work over time? Talent on two separate tours that don't play each other but at Majors that neither Tour owns. Perhaps you would prefer LIV players to be banned from Majors which would only make the "not playing each other" problem worse to the extreme. Soccer is flourishing worldwide and countries are not banned from the World Cup with the exception of temporary bans for starting a war or breaking the primary rules (Germany, Japan, Mexico, Russia and a few others over time) Not sure why a monopoly is preferred in a sport that is not American; very different than an NFL or MLB which were created in America. Even so, why not have a world baseball or football league? The PGA Tour itself has only existed since 1968. Why can't we golf fans have a Saudi or other ally nation wealth fund back a bigger global tour for all? Many players, including Rory, have decided they support a global tour where the best play each other. We like the idea of a global super tour where the best-of-the-best from any tour play. That would be 12 or so super tournaments per year and 4 Majors. What great league rivalries could be created. Sounds good to us and to many fans around the globe.
@@SiLoMixMasterRory is popular but amongst many closer observers he’s lost some respect. It’s not just LIv which he has been over the top and wrong on so many levels but it’s also the Ryder cup shenanigans. He’s definitely still one of the most popular players, no doubt.

LIV golf, as a product, is trash. No one wants to watch that crap. Bunch of wealthy dudes playing golf? Already paid and set for life? As a fan, I need the motivating factor that the PGA structure had. As heartless as it sounds it made the competition even more compelling to watch. I'd argue that it enhanced the golf play itself.
Thx Dean. Appreciate it! How do you like the LIV team element?
@@ThinkingManShow love the team aspect you have both don’t you. You have the individual battles as well. Crushers fan got a photo with Bryson down in Adelaide last year. Going back this year as well.
What if we could bring back Moe Norman, like in his 30's. Would be interesting to see him compete with the top golfers in the world.
😂 Beings I played with him, he'd beat their ass as long as he didn't have to speak to them...
Rory is probably the only top player that's not welcome to LIV.
not sure 1 player can do it, but multiple players should.

The LIV team events will only get stronger
@@1362pc Sure…. 🥴
I would imagine all the team captains get together with Greg and discuss new players?
Ludvig is coy - he's telling norman - "i need more money"
He is a superstar in the making
@@philkarnell5143they don't need a Canadian... LIV could exert pressure on the tour to end the bans with Nick Taylor in this particular situation
NICKLAUS WAS RIGHT NORMAN JUST TRYING TO DESTROY GOLF AS HE LINES HIS POCKETS
What BS...,Norman is an innovator who for decades wanted to see a global tour...He created LIV which is simply a tour that competes with US tour globally....the US tour spent a decade plus destroying other global tours, including the Euro tour, which is a disgrace...more than 50% of golf fans live outside the US but the PGAT planned to have a monopoly that top pro golf would only be in America....wrong on every level
sure,sure
Good thinking man😊
Put Spieth, Thomas and Fowler in a LIV team and PGA´s loss is irreparable I would say.
the other part of the asian rim ...... collin morikawa ... from California, USA
We will
(He is going to make more than enough of those anyway.)
Furthermore, he would never betray those to whom he feels indebted.
Thx Expot…..yes, that’s what we said. Likely to him the Majors are priceless.
@@ThinkingManShow Stand corrected. Thanks!
There have been 3 guys in the last 4 years who accomplished more in a shorter period of time at a younger age (Wolff, Higgo, T Kim)
You never know in pro golf
Spieth. No doubt.
Why did Greg Norman choose a 54 hole tournament?
Why did the PGA choose 72? Totally arbitrary. But because everyone is used to it they think it's etched in stone. People are idiots
Because no one watches or cares about the cut and they didn't want only 2 days.
LIV would rather have Hovland than Sheffler
@@1362pc I agree. He gives them more cred with the European contingent but he doesn't have a Major under his belt to get in the biggest legacy tournaments.
He won the masters in 2015.
Do you guys think the power behind the PGA was messing around with LIV and LIV responded?
PGAT are crooks.....PIF are serious people who won't partner with crooks
Yes and no because LIv is simply moving forward in what they do
What value does Tiger bring any more? No morals. Can't golf. Egomaniac, Out for only himself. I see no value in that person for any tour, especially LIV.
Isn’t every golfer regardless of tour only out for himself? Tiger is the only golfer in the world that gets non golf fans to watch.
People tune in to watch him play = $
Not as many as you think. He's done man. LIV is about young people, the younger generation. LIV isn't marketing to old white guys, the PGA still is@@Leroy-df3ee
I tune out especially when Tiger is in the field, its sickening to hear all about how wonderful he is and you hear nothing of the leaders, but then again I stopped watching pga when they all bashed LIV, pga is not any better than LIV and sadly america is no better than the saudis, and we ALL support liv and saudis with our cars and gas and oil, and many more things.!
@@Leroy-df3ee especially casual golf fans. Most would rather watch tiger mow his lawn than a PGA tour event without him
Under the tentative agreement with the Saudis, if they ratify that, the PGA and Saudis together will own a new company (with the PGA controlling a majority of the board) which will own LIV. So it would be in the PGA's best interest to be OK with some of their players, even Jon going to LIV, because frankly so far it is a fizzle. You can count the ways it can be improved.
Something significant seems to be missing here?
Are you delusional? So you think the Saudis will bring billions to to table, save the PGA, and then let the PGA control everything? Never in a million years. You are forgetting the entire premise of LIV and Greg and Phil, and thats to destroy the PGA. Its happening if front of your eyes
LIV is a fizzle? ha ha....what propaganda so you watch?
At least as far as current PGA fans, LIV is not popular. Its connection to Trump and MAGA politics is also disturbing.@@1362pc
PGAT players will regret they stayed with a corrupt organization. I give PGAT 2-3 years and it will be a feeder tour for LIV.
👍👍may happen sooner.
The one person PGA tour can't afford to lose is Jay Monahan. Cut the leadership, sub it with a plant, and sit back watching the tour disintegrate.
What is going on with Ogilvie? I think that's his last name. Young player who benefited greatly from playing on LIV, big time. I think he would be floundering under the PGA System or Mill as in running them through the mill!
He has joined Phil's team
Andy Ogletree
Rooting for Andy.
Ogletree was the third Georgia Tech player to win the US Amateur, joining Bobby Jones (five times) and Matt Kuchar. He was low amateur at the Masters and finished T34.
@@ThinkingManShow Yes, I forgot how his name was spelled! LIV worked out very well for him. I think he won one of the DP tour events and then came back and filled in on the LIV tour afterwards.
He has signed with Phil's team
Charlie Woods gets offered some $$ that doesn’t come from his daddy. That kid is arrogant enough that he might take it.
SInce when can amateurs sign apparel contracts? Yes Charlie does seem very arrogant.
Sheffler is not a Phil Mickelson... and he's been winning against a cut down field........big fish, little pond
Yes, how many golf legends are currently playing on the PGAT? Maybe one or two....its a weak era
He does speak and interview well in general. He may very well be a class act, so perhaps I'm jumping the gun on my impression of him.
The European players have a much easier transition to LIV. Less backlash from home fans.
Pretty close thou.
Anyway, in my opinion I hope that 7 players will come from the following 10 names:
(1) TONY FINAU (2) TYRRELL HATTON (3) XANDER SCHAUFFELE (4) JASON DAY (5) RICKIE FOWLER (6) MAX HOMA (7) VIKTOR HOVLAND (8) RYAN FOX (9) ADRIAN MERONK (10) TOMMY FLEETWOOD
YES must be a 14th team....hopefully a Japanese team

The Tour members have been screwed by PGAT management...only around 30% of total PGAT income is paid out in event purses
Morikawa is American not International. Hideki would be international. It’s like saying Finau is International and would be on a Samoan/Tongan team
Or if JT or someone had Irish ethnicity, would you say he’s International and put him on Rory’s team? Sahith is American but would be International and be on Anirban team?

Why not two LIV tours? Two 48 man tours.
Nice.
Young guys aren't going b/c they also believe if they win a major their bid from LIV goes up.
Good point Big.

That, would be hilarious!🤣🤣🤣
Soccer is flourishing worldwide and countries are not banned from the World Cup with the exception of temporary bans for starting a war or breaking the primary rules (Germany, Japan, Mexico, Russia and a few others over time)
Not sure why a monopoly is preferred in a sport that is not American; very different than an NFL or MLB which were created in America.

Let anyone go that wants to go and let the LIV players play in any PGA event they want. Or Let the chips fall where they land…. The up and comers from the PGA will replace the players that go to LIV.. there is no Jack / Tiger / Arnie big personality out there.
The PGA should have seen all this coming and changed strategy. Their players wanted bigger purses and the PGA wouldn't budge. As a result,Jay has lost dozens of his best golfers and remarkably still has his job. Any other CEO would have been fired.
