I always email the broker pictures of the load when I'm ready to roll, and pictures of the signed BOL and last piece coming off my trailer when I'm unloaded. If they specify calls being required, I do that too. But it's the extra people who call to verify something that is annoying. Especially if they can hardly speak English and you think they are trying to sell you something. So if I'm on a load, I try to be a little more patient with people who call me. I usually tell them how I will NEVER buy any product or service from someone who cold calls me (or emails me about)... even if it's something I've been looking for!
Brokers are worse than used camel dealers. Robert,if it was fun, everyone would want to be an owner operator. Keep up the great videos and thanks for sharing your thoughts and experiences with us.
Trucking is a dirty game

Some of these brokers amaze me. If you or I ran our trucking companies as haphazardly as some of these folks, we’d be out of business within the week.

I had pdq or whoever that bad broker is from my company and they wanted me to hit their app for a load that only when 60 miles I think I never put it on and they kept sending it,

Wow!!!! It ran through a mud puddle and ran over a aluminum ladder and went down a dirt road…… hell I’m sold. I can’t wait for these to get into the real world and out of the nice warm southwest. I’d love to hook a set of gravel dumps to it and see what it really can’t do.

I dealt with that in Colorado Monday at Ritchie brothers. Was supposed to get 2 trucks and one wouldn’t run and they supposedly sent a wrecker and he never showed up! I ended up deadheading to Kansas to get a load.

Your not alone there Robert, Last few months that has happened to me a lot and I was not nice about it after the third one! I have rudely asked them why they dont talk to each other at all when booking loads FFS! Its very annoying when you get 4 calls a day from the same broker and no one know what the last person communicated. Poor business practices.
When that tow truck was winching those trucks onto your trailer, I thought maybe your landing gear being lowered would have helped protect your trailer from twisting. Just curious.

It's interesting to me when a broker needs to transport his goods but expects you the truck owner to figure out how to load them on your flatbed. As a business owner, I expect everything on my end to be up and ready and my employees ready to load up everything so the transporter is ready to go. I really enjoy your videos. Keep them coming!

At least Stacy Abrams did not win. There should be xtra pay for added work. You agreed to price for 2 NEW truck in running order of set weight, set length, width. Instead it’s two junkers. That required lots of work, time, and risk.
The unload looks sketchy. If it had the lift ability. Why not put on chains?
I loaded some bulky, heavy on flatbed. Pay loader driver did not know how to do it. As my trailers safety matters I had him set up, shut down, I chained him up. Easy, simple, safe. Top of forklift bucket, over top, secured to other side front, back of load. He could driv, turn, tilt down. Safely

I was going to venture into this business but I changed my mind. The issue is no one cares about the truck to haul the fright. All they have to do is answer a call from the next truck driver to take the Load. They know all you owner operators have bills to pay and know your all looking for a load to haul.
Why would you pay $300 to load their trucks? I don't know but a lot of truck drivers and trucking companies pay people to unload other peoples freight off their trucks.Which I have never understood either. Is this a case of reverse lumpers? 😆

Watch the video by Lee at Sleep Essential. Get a latex mattress for your truck, it won't out gas, you can fix the firmness you want.

Hello Robert. I think that some of your sleep problems are due to you worrying about the loads where you are not told the truth. This load would not be the first one. To me it looked like they should have disconnected the drive shaft at least on the first truck. I hope you got paid more for having to spend extra time to load the "junk". I think the truck got dropped. Have good days!

Yep that load going to lkq I-55 south frontage rd jackson ms I live 10 minutes from there they don't care at that place they will have them trucks ripped down motor trans and rears out and truck smashed before the end of the day

@@FreedomInc I'm assuming you skimmed the comment and didn't actually read what he said. He said the background music was so loud it over rode the talking and in my case I couldn't understand 1/5 of what was being said because of the high background music.
If he merely turned down the volume then of course you're correct and the background music would not be turned up so high but on the other hand if you turn down the background music then you also turn down the talkers volume and can't hear him either.
So using your solution means he needs too turn the volume way down and read the closed captions or try smoke signals.
Much better, in my opinion, to edit the background music lower so we can understand what the talker is saying
