I was there the day they started the demo of the "Delta House". A few of us skipped class and had a beer to watch. Prior to it's demolition it had been used as a venue for some of the punk bands that would come up. Was definitely a trip being in that building for a punk show. Also of note, the basement of the Sigma Nu house was the space used for the party scenes at the Delta House (where Otis Day and the Knights performed). The backside of that house was used as the sorority (Belushi ladder scene). Also, in 1986 the Student Union hosted a punk festival which was to be headlined by Black Flag. Noise complaints pulled the plug before Black Flag could play. A guy in Sigma Nu decided to host the show at their fraternity....I bring this up simply because I think its interesting that in the 80s I got to see Black Flag play Louie Louie in the same basement that the fictional band Otis Day and the Knights sang (along with the cast) Louie Louie a decade earlier.
I have no idea how anyone could give you a thumbs down! This is a spectacular effort on your part. Nicely done to say the least. Greetings from Arizona.
I was in college when Animal House was released... overnight college life changed... gone were the concerns about social causes that were still on campus as a leftover from the 60s, as the whole campus went nuts with toga parties and college pranks.
EXCELLENT JOB,Herve! Back in the Fall of '78 My Friends & I Made a "Road Trip"(!) to Eugene & Cottage Grove(with My Super 8 Sound Camera) and shot the locations then!
All of the places featured should be put on the National Historic Register considering they contributed to the most important comedy film of the entire 20th century. 😎🤣
Well done! Omega House was both Phi Kappa Psi frat exterior and interior (thank you Sir may I have another). On the other side of Animal House is Sigma Nu frat, exterior of the sorority window scene and interior of Animal House. As a Duck 80-84 and a member of the PKP house given the movie came out 2 years prior and there was no VHS, it was all pretty must lost on us at the time, watching this really brings back the memories though. Oh, and we didn't get paddled as pledges but we did eat gold fish during initiation, among other things.
The real Animal House is from Hamilton, Ontario, Canada. McMaster University Whidden Hall. Notable students included Martin Short Eugene Levy John Candy and Dave Thomas. The film producer Ivan Reitman was also a Mac student.
Her buddy you have such awesome videos bro your camera angles are perfect my hat is off to you buddy I have enjoyed to the fullest extent of my heart from the films of my childhood and the way that you have recreated the essenes specifically Rambo Stand By Me and other life films
Another brilliantly done video, Herve! Love it. Thanks for sharing that interview the other day too. I had always wondered how you found the time to do this. You are a master at managing your time. I could learn a thing or two from you!
I'm a University of Oregon Alumni. You can see my dorm room in the scene where Neidermier gets dragged by his horse - Walton Hall. I can name every building in the opening scenes. LOL
At 9:23. Holy Crap, that's MY CAR! Parked on a side street off Main in historic cottage Grove. My mom lives there and I'm pretty sure owned it already when Herve filmed in 2013ish. The silver VW wagon parked by C. Grove Hotel. Can't zoom in and Plate is blurred so so can't be 100 pct.sure. Town had big 40th anniv party in 2018, Deathmobile car still exists N was there. Buster's Cafe in that bldg., Cuz Buster Keaton made a different hit movie there in 1920s. Oh btw, sitting in that very car now in home since 2006 of Las Vegas... Waiting for awful summerheat to end and Census bureau to do pandemic hiring, arrrr. Nice town, stop in next time you R goin up or down I-5!
I wish Herve had followed the film's timeline more closely; this video jumps all over the place. Also, how about some captions saying where these places are?
Great comedy exists on many levels. Three of the greatest comedy films in my opinion are Monty Python and the Holy Grail, Animal House, and Woody Allen's "Love and Death" oh yeah Young Frankenstein
5:07 Hey, wait, why is Kevin Bacon hanging with these people in civvies? It seems like he should be in uniform with the ROTC guys at Niedermeyer's table.
...very enjoyable! ...you should do "It's A Mad, Mad, Mad, Mad, Mad World" ...film was shot in 1962-63 & many of the "rural/remote" locations are most likely developed now...the contrast would be interesting... ...again...great work!
Imagine releasing this film in today's America. The snowflakes would burn the entire state of Oregon to the ground in protest. Kids today have zero sense of humor.
It came out between my first and second years of college. We thought it was an instructional video on how to do college. We had some insane toga parties!
John Landis’ work will be revered forever. He always makes you smile whether it be with dialogue or shots /cinematography
I can watched this masterpiece and it never gets old. A great movie of 1978.
Thank you John Landis

Great Job!! I've seen this movie thousands of times. Greetings from Italy
One of the greatest comedies ever made.
This is fantastic. Herve' doesn't seem to be filming as many of these as he used to and that is a shame. He is the absolute best
Yes, this is very good!
Greatest American film comedy of all time.
Simply one of the best videos on TH-cam; well researched, nicely executed, and one damn fine job of setting the mood, through the soundtrack!

EXCELLENT JOB,Herve! Back in the Fall of '78 My Friends & I Made a "Road Trip"(!) to Eugene & Cottage Grove(with My Super 8 Sound Camera) and shot the locations then!
one of the best comedies ever as good as anything put out today
Much better, in fact, than much of the non-comedy "comedy" shit peddled today, I would argue.
RIP Doug Kenney,true comedic genius

Thanks
Animal House, Blazing Saddles and Young Frankenstein, possibly Caddyshack: funniest movies ever.
I would agree and add Weekend At Bernie's to round out the top 5. I stopped counting after I saw Blazing Saddles 37 times.
Loved that movie. Hey Herve, if you're ever in Italy, you should look for filming locations from The Italian Job. The original one.
Hervé,Comme Toujour tes videos sont super, continue de nous divertir...
Hi Attia, makes a movie location filming of Edward Scissorhands! It is a classic.
The medical building where the original Delta House was at is where I go to see my podiatrist.
Our DKE house came close to this in 1964-67.
Great movie GREAT TIMES!
the music is wunderbar
DID ANYONE HAVE THE LINK TO DOWNLOAD THE COMPLETE FILM?
TOOK ME 4 YEARS OF DANCE CLASS TO MASTER THAT "BLUTO BOUNCE"
Wirklich schade das Herve nichts neues mehr hochläd.
Weiß jemand was er momentan macht?
Isn't this cottage Grove Oregon just north of Medford Oregon

Great movie. Great, great, great..!!
Good job, actually!
6:55 No lawn jockey anymore, lol!
Old Hayward Field at this time no longer exists. A new Hayward Field is being built for the 2021 Track and Field World Championships.
