  • Kingdom Hearts has been alive and well for over 20 years now spanning a numerous amount of instalments. However the past decade of the franchise has been relatively quiet compared to its first 10 years.

I miss when games weren't so massive in scale, nowadays I feel like I have to wait an eternity until a game that I'm interested in gets released

  • @fakade2987

This is an industry thing not just kingdom hearts. Hell in a 15 year time span, 1987-2002, we got 11 mainline Final Fantasy games and we have only gotten 6 more in 22 years

We NEED a full remaster of Days. Justice for the seasalt trio!

  • @KaimArgonarEyyyy

The gaming industry was objectively in a better situation during the PS2/3 era. I want lower budget games that stop focusing on graphics as a priority.

  • @CasualChris247

this is less of a KH problem and more of a industry issue

  • @himnher2293

I agree that the original style of graphics for most of the dark seeker saga is timeless but there’s something amazing about seeing this Pixar style level of presentation that wins me over every time. Every single world is brought to life and I find myself just wandering around a lot in KH3, just appreciating the detail.

I'd rather they use an older engine if it meant we got games faster. I also hate the trend of Square making mobile games and having no intention of preserving them properly. The countless hours people spent of KHUX is lost to time.

  • @MEMORIAHAVEN

Square Enix has the Capcom syndrome of "too many franchises to manage", which means there's not enough time to prepare each franchise properly, unfortunately... Especially when it comes to scheduling releases. Mix that with a generation leap in terms of technology and you've got an explosive cocktail for killing franchises. And if you add that with a big corporation like Disney (it's certainly not a happy time for them right now XD) which watches everything and imposes its choices on you.... It's hard to be a developer in such a context.

  • @Saturn537

This is partly sort of an unfortunate side effect of handhelds in gaming not really being a thing anymore. I'm sure many fanbases of different franchises long for the days when we'd get mainline games and spinoffs on home consoles, but then we'd get all these spinoffs on GBA, DS, PSP, and 3DS. Nowadays, handhelds aren't really a thing anymore, and there's no place for those handheld spinoffs. And nowadays mobile games kind of serve that purpose, but they're not as satisfying as console games. (Although this is changing with games like Genshin Impact and Kingdom Hearts Missing Link.) And this is one of tgose things were if you don’t like it, the industry sort of goes back to you and goes "Well, accept the change, and live with it."

  • @personahearts358

To be fair, I feel like this is all due to prior criticism of the series for having to play every game besides the first two numbered ones to fully get Kingdom Hearts III. We’re now gonna be waiting longer as both Disney and Square Enix now fully prioritize the big budget numbered games above the supposed “spin-offs”.

  • @Dark_Tale

At this point, I'd rather play a game that is fun, over one that looks jaw dropping amazing. Its why I've started leaning more towards Indi games and I've felt more fun in playing those games over the main stream AAA ones we get right now.

  • @ThaNinjazTube

I feel like this is the perfect place for Kingdom Hearts silence though at least. The long saga is over. And we're waiting for the new one to begin.

  • @slobertooth1358

Tbf, with the ps5 being backwards compatible with the ps4, which has virtually every kh game on them, I understand why they wouldn't release them AGAIN on ps5. I do wish personally they'd stop locking important stories onto mobile game and just tell them through a different way instead.

  • @NekkoBlue

Personally I really don’t mind waiting, when you like something like Sonic the Hedgehog you start to really prefer quality over quantity lol

  • @Kira1Lawliet

I would gladly go back to the days of multiple handheld console games than keep slogging through this mobile gatcha game swamp. People complained about KH handheld games, but at least they were fun to play and they continued to BE PLAYABLE years after their release.

  • @gothwolf13

I would legitimately be fine playing new games with the old KH visual style. The stylized look still mostly holds up 22 years later, and there's plenty of more recent indie games with pixel graphics that are great. I don't get the new obsession with trying to make everything as realistic looking as possible.

  • @JumpNShootSH

the feel when you actually want a spin off game

  • @-Anonymous-.

Give your official kingdom hearts 3 review

  • @swirlofsilliness

We need an 'open source KH' game where ppl progressively try port all the worlds, battle systems, bosses, and abilities. Imagine fighting Mysterious Figure as Sora or Roxas and you're doing keyblade combos from KH3 while using commands from DDD, in an area from 0.2! jkjk...but one can dream

  • @SmashBrosAssemble

The only reason we got so many spin off handheld titles is because they were all asset dumps (aside from BBS) reusing assets levels etc from KH1 & KH2 which cut so much time off development.
