Hey guys - after listening to this I'm sure some of you are gonna want to start sharing clever workarounds or other tricks TH-camrs use to circumvent the rights issues. Please know that I'm aware of these tricks and I'm still not willing to take the chance. We made it this far, right?

Comments was such a great thing to help provide feedback for my channel. And now, TH-cam gives me the middle finger all because of COPPA, removing the very thing that gives me a reason to make content now. A sad time to be a Plush channel on TH-cam.
I've watched your channel since the beginning of your videos, they're my childhood who help me got into Godzilla and figure related videos with comedy. It's sad that it happened to you, and I hope you'll continue posting more content for future generations to come. Stay strong and keep doing amazing stuff, my friend. I 100% relate to this and I’m also really paranoid at the whole legal mumbo jumbo wumbo BS. It makes sense but they are really harsh about it. Especially if those “offending youtubers” were following the rules in the first place. Whenever I do stop motion animations I try not to monetize it. As painful as that is. It still has official sound effects and music I don’t dare try to make a cent on. This isn’t something to under estimate.
Viacom were complete and utter assholes when it came to copyright strikes back in the day. The community that uploaded old and otherwise lost Sesame Street skits when YT started up had so much trouble with any footage that came from Noggin's Sesame Street rebroadcasts because Viacom would take down any account that so much as had a network logo on it. A lot of them plastered a "Sesame Street Fanclub" logo over the Noggin logo once they got an alternate account. They didn't even OWN that footage, and it was a few years into when they kicked Sesame Workshop out of their stake in the network. Then of course, there's stories of them stealing non-copyrighted amateur YT footage for some of their awful reaction type shows and then giving the producers and uploaders of those home videos with copyright strikes, so there's that.
It's stupid how they tend to take down SpongeBob YTP videos. One example is Mr. Krabs' Unquenchable Bloodlust. It's been re-uploaded by someone else but the video itself felt like less of a TH-cam Poop and more of a creepy pasta.
Viacom pulled a lot of awful stunts back in the day. They even put up dummy/spoof accounts that posted their own content to trick YTers into thinking it was safe to post Viacom's stuff, only to viciously take them down once they did. As for this channel, I can see why MIB is very wary of posting Godzilla content. "Flagged by Toho" is pretty much a running gag for Brandon's Cult Movies channel, by Brandon and his commenters.
When folks talk about YT in the past. Makes me feel old. Lol I was in my 30's. Mr. Monster Island buddies I totally enjoy your channel. I would cry for months if your channel was deleted . I would fight Monster Zero just to get you Back.
Ah the good old days of TH-cam; friend list and subs were separate, we thought copyright could be dodged with reversing scenes in music videos (sometimes), the comments part of a page was actually used, YOU COULD CUSTOMIZE YOUR PAGE'S LOOK, it was crazy back then. As someone who's og channel was deleted because of my lack of knowledge of copyright. Great video man, keep up the great work and I'm glad this channel of yours is successful and I'm glad I could and have watched it grow.
Copyright infringement is just bullshit, we're fans even though we don't own the rights to the characters, we do this because we like to have fun and we like to express our own opinions.
Yeah I'm a fanfic writer on Wattpad and reading people's comments is extremely cool. It feels like I'm an actual writer and my audience is praising and thanking me for making something. It's really cool.

I can definitely relate man! I remember the early days of TH-cam, very frustrating times. I created a channel in 2007 and it got deleted in about 4 months due to the footage I used in my music videos. In 2010 I created a second channel and it too was deleted for similar reasons. I didn't work up the motivation to create another until about 5 years ago lol But so far so good. Keep up the great work man!

Had my channel deleted in 2008 over copyright infringement and it was devastating, i lost soo much original content and it still haunts me to this very day. To the point i don't make videos anymore so everything you see on my channel in boring, stupid nonsense from 10 plus years ago! I still keep my channel for subs and staying connected to my favorite channels but once you get YT burned you don't seem to heal properly to go back to what it was before. Sorry to hear about your early traumas in the nascent TH-cam days, MIB, but thanks for sharing 😁 It was definitely a strange new world, with studios suddenly discovering their IPs moving beyond occasional bootleg vhs & dvd, to suddenly being available to anyone anywhere with an internet connection, and they weren’t making a cent from it. So naturally they went full panic-mode, and without a clear understanding of fair use in this context, tiny upstart company TH-cam understandably overreacted to the big bad studios’ pressure by pulling the plug on videos & channels unfairly 😕 Things have improved in that regard these days, but i do miss the indie feel of the old YT days… and guestbook forms too 😅
So many videos of mine were claimed over the years. Pretty much all of them were from lowfi music that claimed to be in the public domain...but vulture companies bought up samples used in those songs and claimed all the videos. Also vulture companies bought up versions of classic music and claim stuff that is in the public domain. It's always a massive pain dealing with music. You can get stuff in the public domain that has no claims on the performance rights but it's STILL a gamble. I guess it's a blessing that my channel was just not summarily deleted like MiBs.
If I upload a piece of copyrighted music today, I’d get a notification before the video is live. Even if it was already live I have tools to silence the copyrighted part. Back then… well like I said they deleted the whole channel without warning. Not the video… the CHANNEL. Nowadays is miles better than it used to be, full stop

@@MrGojira95 It's absurdly baffling on how videos that involve idiots putting themselves in near-fatal situations with their made up challenges like drinking bleach, crowds of people fighting each other, animals getting killed, etc is perfectly "fine" under TH-cam's radar but when someone uses a popular song in his or her video suddenly there's a problem.
I can relate to this since recently my old YT channel I had built for 10+ years got terminated. I used to upload old public domain content and convention recordings without any trouble. But when the pandemic hit and conventions converted to online-only I guess someone got mad that I had a recording of a FREE panel that I ATTENDED and struck my channel three times in one day resulting in instant termination. Later I find out this convention retroactively added disclaimers to the beginning of their panels saying that no duplication was permitted but this warning was never established previously so I am right pissed that all my content is gone now especially because they didn't even give me the chance to take the apparently offending videos down...
TH-cam is risky enough with how it haphazardly categorizes stuff involving whatever they classify as "toys"/"for children" these days, messing with copyright stuff (which is already whack) especially from Toho is like driving an RV through a minefield.... Yeah I can imagine that it's safer to just outright avoid the copyrighted stuff. I've had a hard enough time figuring a "TH-cam safe" way to reboot my stop motion channel... I can't imagine the thin line you gotta walk just to make the MIB series possible.
Yeah man. It sucks, especially for a Plush channel like myself. I don’t care if people tell me to swear in Sonic Plush videos, I refuse to do so. When a show isn’t known for swearing and I’m forced to add it, it alienates what we’ve established before. I’m sticking to my guns till the very end, even if it takes away the comments. TH-cam was meant for ages 13+, and our great CEO destroyed it by adding TH-cam Kids, as well as forcing TH-camrs to go family-friendly to keep cold hard cash in their greedy pockets. The biggest mistake in TH-cam history, as well as a slap to the face on child privacy.
And you can thank Google for buying TH-cam and becoming what it is now and i without Google buying it TH-cam would of been dead and no longer functioning any mire but it's still better then having the site become a corporate husk of itself

So, I recall that Viacom outright despised TH-cam. Viacom even filled a law suit against TH-cam. If I've heard correctly, it was found that Viacom started adding their own clips to TH-cam during the case and the court dropped it. When you review, it's supposed to be Fair use. I think as long as the content used is what's being reviewed. I'm pretty sure that most people know about the Digital Millennium Copyright Act( or DMCA). DMCA is supposed to be a safety net for unprofessional creators on TH-cam and on the internet, but I've heard that most companies use it to strike down just as hard or harder sometimes. If you've ever taken a Copyright in Media class, you should know what I'm talking about. But If not, I'd highly recommend it.
I guess some up I feel pain 2 channels got deleted dudebrogaming and sadly my videos I did in 2006 ish roblox was starting out games look ok ish. Though the channel wasnt deleted felt like it big oofs all around for us small timers big x thanos oof

Intellectual property laws on recorded media are bullshit. It limits creative freedom, especially when making a Godzilla fan film or a fan fiction. This kind of law should be abolished TBH.

So, I recall that Viacom outright despised TH-cam. Viacom even filled a law suit against TH-cam. If I've heard correctly, it was found that Viacom started adding their own clips to TH-cam during the case and the court dropped it. When you review, it's supposed to be Fair use. I think as long as the content used is what's being reviewed. I'm pretty sure that most people know about the Digital Millennium Copyright Act( or DMCA). DMCA is supposed to be a safety net for unprofessional creators on TH-cam and on the internet, but I've heard that most companies use it to strike down just as hard or harder sometimes. If you've ever taken a Copyright in Media class, you should know what I'm talking about. But If not, I'd highly recommend it.
I guess some up I feel pain 2 channels got deleted dudebrogaming and sadly my videos I did in 2006 ish roblox was starting out games look ok ish. Though the channel wasnt deleted felt like it big oofs all around for us small timers big x thanos oof

Intellectual property laws on recorded media are bullshit. It limits creative freedom, especially when making a Godzilla fan film or a fan fiction. This kind of law should be abolished TBH.
