Being a fan of Armisen and knowing how big of a fan he is of theirs. And The Clash being my fave band in the world I do not know how he kept a straight face.
I love the Steve Jones bits, too. So freaking funny! Did you see the SNL skit where Fred plays a dad reprising his role in a punk band/homage to his daughter’s wedding? I would actually listen to “Fist Fight in the Parking Lot” in any playlist. Dave Grohl is great in it. Up the aging punx! 🤣💖 With EVERY project Fred does (I’m just gonna call him “Fred,” because we’re hella tight, but not really. Or ever. I’m just lazy.) I’m especially dying when he taps into music genres!! He actually KNOWS the music, which makes it special and a nod to those of us who get it…”as well.” 😁
The greatest British band ever IMO. Mick is the writer, Paul is the coolest looking man that ever held a bass! RIP Joe Strummer and shout out to Top. Top Band
My sister was M3, the Punk Rock Queen of the Cass Corridor, keyboardist/backing vocals/whips & chains in seminal Detroit punk bank The Impaler, and 💯% the most punk spirit that ever raised hedes in its streets. She gave me The Ramones Rocket to Russia & The Clash’s Combat Rock for Christmas (1987-I was 10), and my changed life was changed forever🤘 Mostly through Steve Albini she was always a fan of great Chicago punk bands-like Fred’s band (Trenchmouth)-as well. I’ll always feel my father (bass; Springwell) and sister to be the greatest father/daughter rockers from the Midwest in rock n roll history. I’d say Rest In Peace my queen of a sister, but I know if there’s an afterlife where you’re happy and doing exactly what you want/love, then you’re obviously playing out tonight in a kick ass band. Prolly Joe and Andy Gill on guitar, Dee Dee on bass, Keef Moon on drums, and Darby Crash sharing vocals with Lux Interior. Somethin like that. So Rock TF on forever, dear sis. Love you so much 💜 🤘
This is fantastic! It's so good to see two of my favorite band members together because in my youth I was so focused on the Clash I completely missed Ian rubbish and his talented band.
Mick Jones looks like Bob Dole now. Cool. Paul Simonon looks like an older, seedier Paul Simonon. The Clash burned through my teenage imagination, I will always love them. They always had a sense humor even when they were storming the record industry's barricades they never took themselves too seriously, for the most part.
This is still hilarious. The "I don't like it" bit has me laughing out loud, Mick looks like he's unsure if he's supposed to be laughing but can't help it!
I remember when they filmed the video Rock the Casbah in my hometown of Austin Texas in 82. My house was so close to where they filmed most scenes. Love it.
Watching this makes me imagine the balls to conceive of this, then actually do it. I think the funniest people out there are always looking for a venue to do their crazy, brave shit. I look forward to the next thing that springs forth from these fertile imaginations.
The only band that matters! Thank god for guys like Fred Armisen keeping their names and faces out there for future generations. I feel very lucky to have been there the first time around. RIP Joe!
I am not sure how or why Ian forgot the second Clash LP 'Give 'em Enough Rope' considering Ian Rubbish and the Bizzarros' second LP was called 'Give em Enough Rope As Well'. Please find a drummer (Topper?) and record 'Hey Policeman' soon!
Mick and Paul laughing at Freds accented jokes was everything. Well done
Because he's obviously mocking Johnny Rotten lmao
i wanna riot as well haha
@@heather3383 His accent is emulating cockney which is the accent of both Strummer and Lydon...
@@heather3383 Nope. He's doing John Lydon
@@MozTheBoz Strunmer wasnt a Cockney. Lydon was however.

Of course this is all pretense for Fred to have an excuse to hang out with the clash.
Practice. Lots of practice.
Man fred really has great talent. I love him, he's the best
Ian forgot he was huge Maggie thatcher supporter.
Dude thatchers reminds him of his mom chill out 😂😂
She reminds me of my mum
@@hazard_us132 I'm sorry
Iron Lady

waiting forty years for a Clash and Bizzaros collaboration... guess this is best we ever gonna get innit
Mick Jones really seemed to be enjoying himself.
I saw him twice, once with The Clash and once with BAD.
Both shows were outstanding.
I'm jealous. I was too young to see The Clash and too broke to see BAD.
This was probably a bit of torture that Fred had to be in character and couldn't actually talk to them
He definitely talked to them outside of character, probably went out for a bite and every fing innit?

I agree to me Clash is up there with Beatles, Stones, etc
Totally, and The Clash wasn't half bad themselves! I'm assuming you're talking about Ian Rubbish and the Bizarros of course.
I'm done!!😂
Fred Armisen is easily one of my top favorite actors.
And the fact that he actually got members from The Clash, truly an honor.
Fred also got a few members of the Sex Pistols to join him on his last day on SNL. :)
I'm in love with Fred's talent. Literally IN LOVE!!!!!! They spent so much time focusing on the album cover they forgot to record the music 😆

Lthe Clash's Ondonc All In G is my favorite album

i had seizures while trying to read ur comment
Fred can die at any moment, he's literally done everything he could have ever wanted. Don't die though.
Saw Mick with BAD two years ago. I never saw someone so happy on stage. They were tight and the show was a joy!
mic jones getting tickled at 2:42 and 3:52 just snapped my 3 yr depression
Gotta love Mick.
I think the best part of this is what a blast Jones and Simonon seem to be having.
Mick and Paul will always love music. Even for something silly like this.
To play with the Clash. What an honour.
This is fantastic! It's so good to see two of my favorite band members together because in my youth I was so focused on the Clash I completely missed Ian rubbish and his talented band.
First heard The Clash in ‘82 when I was 10 and still listening today. One of the greatest bands.
'Go over there, sit down , SHUTUP' hahahaha
Hahahahaha ikr

Ian Rubbish never ages!
Humour
Older guy looks older.
Deep.
The Punk Nigel Tufnel !
Great stuff Mick and Paul for playing along!🤣👏👏
The Clash are my favorite band of all time
The Clash
THE ONLY BAND THAT MATTERS!!!
✊❤️❤️✊
STILL THE ONLY BAND THAT MATTERS
Yeah, I geeked out just a little when Mick and Paul sang "Heeeey Policeman." I mean, that sound.
Fred and Weird Al should work on an album parodying different music genres from the last 50 years!
no..
Fred is too much. "We forgot to record the music". He is a comic genious who is talented musically as well. He really is. Anything he does I'm on it.
NO
Saw the Clash back in the early 80s with the English beat opening for them. Great concert!
Those are some sharp suits Mick and Paul are wearing
These guys were remarkable sports about this.
It's like a comedy musicians dream come true 😅👍
Mick Jones looks cartoonishly English. Fred Armisen is lucky man to get to jam with them.
"We forgot to record the music"
This is so good. Why doesn't it have more views?!
I love The Clash.
Armisen fantasy fulfilled. Mick and Paul were very game, but knew to play the straight men.
LMAO.... that was great. Playing with The Clash is still a big deal.
This is still hilarious. The "I don't like it" bit has me laughing out loud, Mick looks like he's unsure if he's supposed to be laughing but can't help it!
Thirty people are not from there so wouldn't get it.
Always wanted to look like Paul..... coolest bassist in the biz.
Agreed! I love the London calling cover of him smashing his bass! How badass!
3:41 - not sure why but that but has me in absolute stitches. I can’t stop watching it.
This makes me so happy.
Mick and Paul start playing and it's The Clash all over again. That magic comes right back!
So good to see the quality coming back into Funny Or Die..
I think I still have that record that was just a hole.
I can't stop watching this😂. As someone from East London, I've got to say Fred's London accent is hilarious but bang on, but...I don't like it. 😂
You cannot be from London if you think that sounds like anything other than an American putting on an accent
If you don't listen to The Clash you'll think this video is stupid.
All comedians like that. If you don't know the subject it's going to appear stupid.
I think a person will get the humor even more if they're familiar with The Sex Pistols...particularly Johnny Rotten.
L’the clash is one of my favorite bands. Ondonc my favorite record. ALL IN! G, what a band!
Ian Rubbish deserves a full time show
I remember when they filmed the video Rock the Casbah in my hometown of Austin Texas in 82. My house was so close to where they filmed most scenes. Love it.
Whoa
Hey policeman... what a tune
Exactly. What tune?
Le The Clash!
No, L The Clash. :)
Chill, it's L'the Clash
"They did a sort of past tense copying of us."
Brilliant.
Great fun, Thankyou !
Someone should make this into a movie. This could be the next spinal tap.
Watching this makes me imagine the balls to conceive of this, then actually do it. I think the funniest people out there are always looking for a venue to do their crazy, brave shit. I look forward to the next thing that springs forth from these fertile imaginations.
It doesn't take a lot of courage. Creativity definitely but not courage
Best CLASH interview ever, well done IAN
The only band that matters! Thank god for guys like Fred Armisen keeping their names and faces out there for future generations. I feel very lucky to have been there the first time around. RIP Joe!
finally, some damn recognition for these guys! I never thought they'd get the respect they deserve!
Mick wetting himself at 3:58 excellent
absolutely love the Clash my mother always told me she thought Paul Simonon was hot but I think she was doing it just to bug me LOL
Moms.. Am I right?
Paul Simonon was once on the list of Playgirl's 10 Sexiest Men Alive back in 1982 or so.
@@danmseattle975 well now that makes sense :)
SPECIAL DELIVERY, MUY BEWT TE YOA FAYCE!
this is f in hilarious, and at the same time, i would absolutely pay to see this band play
It’s no “Police On My Back”, but I like it.
I bet Fred loved being with one of his top bands. Brilliant.
4:42 is the best bit
not seen this in ages, hilarious!
Lol he did the accent pretty good
I love that these men are still remembered and revered.
But why were they dressed as a barrister and a gangster?
heei maggie thatcher you alright
Was so waiting for Fred to do that, would have loved to see the faces on Mick and Paul:)
thanks to you i sleep aht night
Mind blown...hats off Fred
I so desperately want to see the outtakes from this!!! “Well done!” I’ve searched for outtakes, but can’t find them…”I don’t like it.”
The most engaged l have seen Paul in decades. Fred is amazing. He IS Ian Rubbish!!
I love Fred!!! Soooo funny!! 😂😂😂
Great accent tbh....well done
I love this on so many levels
"Hey policemen my boot goes in your face" a very dramatic lyrics love it!
Turns out paul is who made the clash sound like the clash. I mean, they all did, but the second he started playing, oh there, it is. Love this.
This is too good! :D
Mick looks like he could be a part of the Royal Family here. LOL He's got the Prince Charles look.
f'king brilliant is what this is
So much positivity, the clash are the best
Thank you
Kinda wanted him to sing a really conservative tune at the end just to mess with Mick and Paul.
There’s a movie about this, it’s called “This is Spinal Tap...”
Love fred armisen
The Mural in the Studio looks like those Murals from the Denver Airport.
Very funny and cool at the same time
Last great Rock and Roll band. Changed my life.
This is Hilarious!! :D Thank u!
Nice spinal tap impression cool

Nothing is more punk rock that a well fitted suit, looking great lads!
Happy Birthday London Calling. God save Paul Mick & Topper
This is my favorite version of Hey policeman
Idk how he nails that thick English accent but Fred armisen is awesome
Mick Jones is still so punk. What’s more punk than not trying to still look like how you looked when you were young! The Clash! The best!
this is fucking brilliant
I want Fred Armisen, Bill Hader and Jason Sudeikis back on SNL !!
And Wiig and Forte and Moynihan and Maya..
Worth doing the whole thing just to get to play with them
this is the short sequel to "this is spinal tap"
That was great on all levels, thank you!
I wish I had friends that liked this kind of stuff. Omg so hilarious.
