The place is looking better every trip. The cabin will look really nice once you get all the excess dirt and debris out from under it. I wanted to add one suggestion to you about your canoeing. You should think about wearing a good life vest when you are out on the lake. You go out fully dressed in heavy clothing and work boots. Fine for fishing, horrible to swim in especially in cold water. Getting back into a canoe in the water is a real chore even if has not filled up with water. Another really cheap piece of safety gear that should be in every small boat is something to bail water out of the boat. Easy thing is cut the bottom of a gallon jug. I like the Clorox bottles my self over a milk jug. Then tie it to the boat someplace out of your way with 8 feet of light line so that it stays with the boat.
Those are great ideas and suggestions! Thank you for sharing 😊 implementing both would be the safe thing to do, and I'll pick up a life vest when I find one suitable that I like! Thank you for watching!
@ they make some really nice ones now that don’t get in the way and are comfortable to wear. I keep a plastic whistle attached to mine just in case someone is around and I need help. From your drone shots it looks like you only have a few others living around the lake. Never know when you might hook up to one of those monster Pike.😄
@@MacDa-yy8xn Good to know! The last time I went life vest shopping was in high school. I was quite small and could barely work a paddle with how bulky the things were. Let's hope we hook into a pike large enough to need one someday! 😁
Yes 🤣 That's why you want to chip out chunks and create a wider notch. I was just seeing how many swings it took to cleave through the pole in the same spot for fun! Thank you for watching!
Just wondering you always come in a Bush.Plthere's no logging roads back to your property. Also I mentioned a couple weeks ago about gutters. And you said you'd have to take him down every year because of the snow love you. What if you use cooks and take them down that way? That would give you endless supply of rainwater for that white fifty gallon barrel
I remember your comment! This property is plane or river access only; no roads of any kind lead to the property. Hooks for a gutter system is a good idea! I may implement that when we visit the property more. We may even make a gravity fed water system and have a small sink in the cabin, or out on the future deck. Until that day, I plan on just hauling buckets of water from the lake. Thank you for watching!
Hopefully I can get back there in March. If not March, then hopefully July, and/or September. I have some safety equipment like ear/eye pro, winter boots, and hopefully a solar panel. Let me know if you have any good ideas for gear and supplies!
@OhashiOutdoors Yes solar is a must have. We are looking for a system here in the Philippines- we have solar lighting outside. I would have to have a wheelbarrow and maybe a long pry bar for digging.
@@charlesandanaylnw4892 The pry bar is a good idea! Those are always useful. Getting a wheel barrow out there isn't impossible, but I usually feel there is a better use of space in the aircraft on our trips. Maybe someday though! Good Luck on your solar system hunt down there!
@OhashiOutdoors I was thinking the same thing with the wheelbarrow- maybe if it was completely dismantled- it would take a lot less space on the plane. Solar systems are responsibly priced here- China is close. I have decided on panels (15) and the invertor - having issues deciding on the batteries.
that’s how we’d have to do it! There’s one benefit of being close to China 😅 sounds like you’re getting everything figured out! Good luck on the battery search. My full solar-setup is several years away from happening. If I were to choose now, I’d choose large batteries that are modular and can be added to, if needed. Beautiful drone shot!
Welcome to the channel! I'm Ben, let me know if you have any questions or suggestions! Thank you for checking out the channel and for watching! 😊
Thank you Ben!
No hot dogs but that's fine this was a great video, have a safe trip👍👍
I'll bring a whole lot of them next trip! I was thinking everybody would be tired of watching me cook and eat hot dogs. Now that I know at least one person enjoys it, You'll see more of it next trip! Thank you!😁
@@OhashiOutdoors Both my wife and I enjoy your channel very much and we both agree that you making those dogs and drinking a bear make us feel like doing the same thing👍👍
I guess one of those solar shower bags is potentially in the cabin’s future.
Funny enough, there's one in the cabin from the mid to late 1980's! I'll give it a test one of these trips. Thank you for watching!
I have learned that cleaving wood with a sharp axe makes the axe fasten in the wood.
The next construction will be a bathroom near the real house, for shower and high needs?
I'm planning on building a front deck and a bigger wood shed before tackling a new outhouse. Thank you for watching!
Great video! How many months will you be away from the cabin? What items or supplies will you be bringing back on your return trip?
I look forward to hearing what you end up going with if you’re open to sharing!
I understand that you like Japan..
I love KING KONG !& GODZILA!

Does ground EVER dry up there?
Believe it or not, yes! Just after winter in early June, it's often bone dry and fire danger is really high! Thank you for watching!
US Army veteran (Kiwi Man) married to a Japanese lady. We have 2 small girls. We live in New Zealand, and Shin Yokohama (BusLife Cozy Coach is coming soon). What drone do you use?
Thank you for your service, your ways sound right up my ally! I'm sure your girls are cute as can be 😊 If you're ever in Yokohama and need/want a friend, shoot me an email! we're not too far away (at least for the next two-ish years).
We've got a DJI mini 4 Pro. The stars really aligned on this one - I started a TH-cam channel, and a drone with 360° obstacle avoidance comes out within a year 🤣

Dude you need a wheelbarrow
Maybe someday! Getting one out there is the challenge. 5 gallon buckets are a simple and effective method until then. Thank you for watching!
I just punch through, but Lord how I’ve come to detest dramatic drone footage with drippy tunes..
Thank you for punching through! What do you prefer as background sound during drone footage, if any? Thank you for watching!
