I was really surprised that this video actually solved my problem. I've had my printer for a year and barely used it. The rollers looked clean. But after cleaning them (by reaching through the paper insertion area and rubbing the main rollers with my fingers, since I didn't want to bother with Q-tips), it started pulling paper again. I also noticed that the paper I had been trying to print on had two light lines from where dust was rubbing onto it from the rollers that weren't picking it up.
Thank you. I've done all these things and it's still not grabbing the paper and is still saying "out of paper." There are little rollers that sit on the paper that I cannot get to. One is on the right of the paper as you look into the paper tray from the back and there are two or three that are on the left, but they are up above the paper close to the top of the tray. Maybe they aren't working properly? How do I check these?
Hello Where can I find a replacement backplate (i think that is what it is called, 0:32 you know the big box-type thing sticking out of the back of the printer.) and a new output tray?
What if it only does it with photo paper 4x6? Both my and my moms will not print 4x6 photos into the photo paper, they say it’s out. Sometimes if I just keep hitting continue again and again each time it gives the error message it will suddenly work. When it does it work AMAZING, but I rarely have the patience
+anita paul Please follow the steps in the "HP Printers - 'Paper Mismatch' or 'Paper Size Mismatch' Error" document ( ow.ly/WtbNI ). The steps in it should resolve the error message.
+Kim Backes If the rollers are not spinning freely or stuck. I would personally suggest you contact our HP phone support for further assistance: www.hp.com/contacthp/
Hi there, thanks for contacting! I am here to help! What seems to be the issue? Are you facing any technical issues with your HP printer? May I know the printer you are using? Let me know! Binu - Social Media Tech Support
Poorly made mechanism - HP should have a recall for all affected printers - The problem is where the paper is waiting to be pulled from the tray."Those rollers won't rotate" because of the pulley misaligned due to friction. Mine broke down after 6 months. We all should file a formal complaint against HP
+alcon04 Sorry for the inconvenience caused. Yes, it sounds like pick mechanism is causing this issue. However browse through the links in order to resolve the issue:hp.care/2hAkDmJ and hp.care/2kerotX
+alcon04 Sorry to hear it didn't resolve your issue, it sounds like a hardware problem. Please Contact HP Support: hp.care/2bo1oeo for further assistance.
RESET....Clean....RESET...clean......Those are not steps you take with defective design like HP. My pick rollers dont move, so clening them will make shiny dead rollers, instead of dull dead rollers!!! Very clear but useless instructions!!!!

It's the drop down roller not pulling paper into the feed rollers! Can new roller be had?
cleaning the rollers worked for me.. just a note: contrary to what was said in the video, my printer automatically turns on when its plugged in

You can try the HP Parts Store - ( ow.ly/ZmuOh ) or HP Partsurfer - ( ow.ly/ZmuTS ).

If it doesn't work, we won't tell you how to change the feed rollers. Doh!

And what do we do if the intake wheels do not even turn. Is the pulley broken? How do we fix this. Poor quality.

HP Printer Support neither of those steps will fix my printer. And I won't pay to get it fixed since it's an old printer. Thank you
