Great information. This connector is definitely a weak point and poorly secured. I couldn’t get the plug to budge and didn’t want to pull on the wires. Had no idea the socket would come off so easily.
Thanks for the video. I managed to pull this very, very weak connector off the board today while cleaning for a friend. I was absolutely gutted and thought that was it. But with some tips from your video(especially the braiding) I managed to secure back even stronger than before. Thanks again
I wasn't sure about the way you did the ground lugs. I thought you needed the wick soldered on 3 sides. Seems strong when you checked them. Great repair, Great video, and an education too. Thank you.
hello I also have the same problem, the fan was torn off by a beginner, I wanted to resolder it but the problem is that there is a pin that I cannot solder because the track is completely unusable, where There are 3 pins, the one on the right can be soldered, the one in the middle too, it's the least complicated because it's ground but the one on the left I really can't. Is it possible to point to another location on the motherboard? thank you for helping me
I have a hard time believing those wires would ever cross. They are only long enough to go from the new pad to the pin. But its not going to hurt anything to put the mask on there.
For some reason there is much more PS5 that PS4 with this problem. I advise you to put also some hot glue around to ground to make the connector more stronger

Me too bro, me too
Me pasó lo mismo, traté de ser lo más delicado y terminó arrancándose, simplemente venía muy flojo
I have this problem right now

Everytime those ripped pads.. seems to be a weak point.

With the middle ground wire, why didn’t you anchor to both top and bottom as they look to be on the same trace

Jamie why don’t you use solder paste and solder it’s so much stronger and easier

What size copper wire???????
haha human hair size!!
why is it not through hole?, did sony design it like that on purpose?
i wanna ask you is it ok if i used blue soldering mask insted of green
Nice work Joey
I have a question, what if you use contact cleaner instead of IPA?
What grinder or dremel are you using?
What is the flux for? I've watched a few of these videos and they haven't mentioned the purpose of it
flux help solder flow and adhere to solder points. most solder contains flux but the more the better imo!
I think that you should connect a wider connection to the fan voltage output connector as the original connection that it can pass more current...
Where would I get the wire you're using? I've ordered the braid would that work?
we only use gootwick soderbraid, probably 1mm for this repair.
I just broke my shit today and this is want it needs to be fixed I just don’t know how to get ahold of someone to fix it
Everything works in .y ps5 except the fan. it is bot spinning. Is there a way for to make the fan spin again?
have you damaged the fan connector?
@@rocketrepairs The fan coonector is working fine but the fan itself is not working.
