    00:01Ueno Nightlife Areas
Ueno is a district in Tokyo that transforms into a vibrant nightlife hub as the sun sets. Here's a detailed look at the primary nightlife areas in Ueno:
    1. Ameya-Yokocho (Ameyoko)
Ameya-Yokocho, commonly known as Ameyoko, is a bustling market street that comes alive at night. While it's known for its daytime shopping, the area transforms into a lively spot for evening entertainment. Highlights include:
Izakayas and Bars: Ameyoko is filled with small, lively izakayas and bars where you can enjoy a casual drink and local dishes. Many places have an open-front style, allowing patrons to sit at the counter and watch the street activity.
Street Food: The market is also famous for its street food vendors, offering a variety of snacks like takoyaki (octopus balls), grilled seafood, and yakitori (grilled chicken skewers).
    2. Ueno Station Area
The vicinity around Ueno Station is another hotspot for nightlife. This area offers a mix of modern and traditional entertainment options, including:
Karaoke Bars: Popular with both locals and tourists, karaoke bars around Ueno Station offer private rooms for groups to sing their favorite songs. Many places are open until the early hours of the morning.
Chain Izakayas: Well-known chain izakayas like Torikizoku and Watami can be found here, providing a consistent menu and lively atmosphere.
Rooftop Bars: Some buildings around the station have rooftop bars offering great views of the city along with a relaxing environment for drinks.
    3. Okachimachi
Located just south of Ueno, Okachimachi is a lively area known for its shopping streets and vibrant nightlife. Highlights include:
Yakitori Alley: A narrow alley filled with small, smoky yakitori joints where you can enjoy grilled skewers and beer. The atmosphere is casual and typically crowded with locals.
Cheap Eats: Okachimachi is known for its affordable dining options, making it a popular spot for budget-conscious travelers and locals alike.
Traditional Izakayas: Just outside the park, you can find traditional izakayas that have been around for decades. These places offer a nostalgic atmosphere and traditional Japanese dishes.
Craft Beer Bars: A growing number of craft beer bars have popped up around Ueno, catering to beer enthusiasts looking for local brews and international selections.
Cozy Bars: The area has a few cozy bars and izakayas where you can enjoy a drink in a more intimate setting.
Café Bars: Some cafes in Yanaka Ginza transform into bars in the evening, offering a laid-back environment for enjoying cocktails or wine.
    6. Shitamachi Tanabata
Shitamachi Tanabata, also known as the old downtown area, offers a glimpse into Tokyo's past with its traditional izakayas and small bars. Highlights include:
Historic Izakayas: These izakayas often have a long history and offer a glimpse into the traditional side of Tokyo nightlife, with classic dishes and a warm, welcoming atmosphere.
Live Music: Some venues in this area feature live music performances, ranging from traditional Japanese music to modern genres.
    Conclusion
Ueno's nightlife is diverse and vibrant, offering something for everyone. Whether you’re looking for a casual night out at an izakaya, an energetic evening of karaoke, or a quiet drink at a traditional bar, Ueno has plenty to offer. The blend of modern and traditional elements makes Ueno a unique and enjoyable destination for experiencing Tokyo's nightlife.

Customer: Don't talk shit... I park wherever I want.
Police: Well, you get fined for this.
Customer: My uncle is an influential official... you will be fired.

Cute young lady at 11:16 saying hello! You are getting a lot more recognition. Keep walking! I sit about 30 inches from the screen to watch and I get that motion effect like I'm walking with you!

Seems everybody was relaxed and happy for the beginning of the week. I am sure there are less relaxed places around but it always feels friendly and safe.

What is this that I am hearing about homeless girls living on the streets in Tokyo. Is it a large problem? How did they get into a situation like this ? Is there no hope for them. How about their parents do they care about their kids?
There are a lot of young people drinking beer and having a good time. You don’t see so many Asian here in America.
Although this kind of reminds me on a Saturday night at UC Berkeley.

JE.......FYI.....: As Trump sat in the VIP seats at the National Convention last night, the new VP sat on Trump"s left side and Tucker Carlson sat on Trump's right side. It was that close for Tucker. The final decision came down to those two; but J.D. Vance won because he was already an elected Senator.
