    The Enya Nova is surprisingly nice - a far more pleasant tone than I had expected before playing one. I have a transacoustic one. Not plugged in, the effects are subtle, but plugged into an amp, it’s my electric uke to rock out on (it has the looks) with the fun irony of playing rock songs on ukulele. Because sometimes I’m in the mood for that!

    I have the tenor pro w / the semi-hemi metal frets and love it!
    Fantastic arrangement for Yesterday btw. 👍🏻

      cheers buddy. Yeah I think I will get one actually

    I bought one of the early ones, played it lots and wore out the frets after 9 weeks. It's now out of the house, but I occasionally I play it when visiting relatives. I also love the tenor pro version, especially with a low G.

    • @PaulMansellukulele
      @PaulMansellukulele ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Yeah I think it’ll really suit a low g

    • @AnarchyInTheUkuleleTV
      @AnarchyInTheUkuleleTV  ปีที่แล้ว

      Would definitely work with a low G but it would have to be a nylon and not a wound string because of the plastic frets.

    • @ukeanflute
      @ukeanflute ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@AnarchyInTheUkuleleTV o yes, I'd never put a wound low G on the concert. The enya nova pro tenor has metal frets though, and I use seaguar fishing line as a low G. After all, the nut and the saddle are still plastic.

      I've had 3 pro's they all had REALLY dodgy electronics. I'd advise against, and stick with acoustic.
      Dont believe me? Unscrew the charging port and take a look yourself.

      @@billybollockhead5628 I'm sorry to hear so. I've only just bought a tiny and cheap practice amp. I hope the electronics will hold up once I start messing around with them.

    Thanks for the review. I have a soprano version and really like it. I bought it a couple of months ago to keep in my camper to replace a Flight travel (my first ukulele) as the Flights frets have started to wear possibly because when I started playing as a novice I was trying to press the strings (Aquila) through the fretboard ? As yet I can detect no fret wear on the Enya and really enjoy playing it.

    I have a pink concert one. I think for the money it is a nice ukulele. Stays in tune. Easy to play. I like to keep it in my car. A lot of us use them at ukulele jam.

    I like most things about this uke, i am thinking about getting one. My only concern is the carbon fret bars vs traditional metal ones. How long should one expect these to last, being a composite material?

    • @AnarchyInTheUkuleleTV
      @AnarchyInTheUkuleleTV  10 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Due to the strings being nylon, they won't wear down carbon/plastic frets very quickly, but they'll definitely wear down quicker than metal ones - just depends how much you play it!

  • @windysblog
    @windysblog ปีที่แล้ว +1

    I have the electric version. The pick ups are ok. I put low G, Fremont Black strings on mine. They are thin enough to fit in the plastic nut. Some strings don't fit because they are too thick and you can't do anything to widen that plastic nut. The Fremont Blacks also look nice against the black fretboard and have a more mellow tone. I use the chorus feature sometimes to get a slight echo, which helps the sound to resonate. It's my go-to uke for playing around a campfire or outdoors when I don't want to bring my more expensive ukuleles. 👍👍😊

    • @AnarchyInTheUkuleleTV
      @AnarchyInTheUkuleleTV  ปีที่แล้ว

      Sounds fantastic! We certainly need to play with pedals more often.
      We love the Nova U for that same reason - keep it in the car and don't worry about it!

    Thank you for your great review Paul. I've been wanting one of those for ages. Tell me one thing please...is it quite lightweight? I have the Enya Cherry Blossom concert in mahogany and I love it but as I have an injury to my upper arm/shoulder, I am on the lookout for a lightweight uke. Thanks. Sue

    • @AnarchyInTheUkuleleTV
      @AnarchyInTheUkuleleTV  9 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      It's just a smidge over 500g, so lighter than a lot of concerts - and I should think a lot lighter than a mahogany one!

    Do you think that the saddle could (or should) be flattened to address the differing string heights?

    • @PaulMansellukulele
      @PaulMansellukulele ปีที่แล้ว +1

      A friend (Marius) pointed out there could be a slight radius on the fret board which causes it. To be honest it’s so minor I wouldn’t bother doing anything about it buddy

    • @PaulMansellukulele
      @PaulMansellukulele ปีที่แล้ว +2

      I have a few ukes with cracks in and they normally survive ok. Its not ideal as they can get bigger over time but hopefully you will be ok with it....

    • @AnarchyInTheUkuleleTV
      @AnarchyInTheUkuleleTV  ปีที่แล้ว +2

      It could effect the resonance but I’d say while it’s not making and buzzing or unwanted noise you’ll be fine with it.

    I would LOVE for a youtube "reviewer" to take the "pro" version and take the back electrics panel off and show people what they're actually getting.
    And how it'd be pretty impossible to replace the battery too..

      @@AnarchyInTheUkuleleTV : well after my 3rd one, I’m just going to assume all these are really bad. I wouldn’t recommend Enya to anyone after my experience.
      The electronics inside seem to be very ropey. I’ve had two which stopped charging fate a week, and one which wouldn’t charge out of box. Awful. And the battery seems glued in.

    I just got mine and frankly, I'm not as enamored with it as everyone seems to be. It's small. The black frets makes it hard to see where my fingers are. I am having a hard time with it. I bought it because of all the glowing reviews. I think my Oscar Schmidt is much, much nicer.
    I'll keep it but I don't think I will ever love it..
